Located near to Raystown Lake for boating and fishing, Sunshine Retreat is close to Juniata College, Penn State University, shopping, restaurants and short drive to Altoona and State College. Plenty of parking with room for your boat. All rooms are on single floor with laundry and full bathroom available in the basement. The prefect location to relax and enjoy.

Lovely property convenient to local attractions

My family (husband, adult children, grandchildren) stayed here to attend a family event at the Huntingdon Country Club, which is just a couple of miles away. The space worked very well for us. Even though we didn't use it because of the extreme heat during our stay, there is a nice living space out back. We didn't have to worry about packing up food to bring for the weekend, with Walmart and Giant being just a couple of miles away. And the price was reasonable, compared to renting 3 separate hotel rooms. I would recommend this listing.

Clean and cozy!

My dad grew up in Huntingdon, and we went for the weekend to clean out his childhood home in preparation to sell it. David and Rosa have the cleanest home that’s such an easy drive right into Huntingdon. The beds were super comfortable and left plenty of room for our family of four adults. We had some trouble with the door keypad, but David was responsive and got us squared away ASAP. I absolutely recommend this as a cozy, clean place that’s convenient to everything. We’ll be back for any future cleaning weekends! Thank you!

Great place

Great place to stay. Minor issue with communication after we locked ourselves out of the house. But it was handled well after establishing communication. Place is clean and well maintained. Good location for anyone visiting State College.

Wedding week

House was perfect to fit out family. I would say the descriptions online could be clearer. Our impression was that one bathroom and bedroom was on the first floor and the other two rooms were on the second. In reality all of the rooms are on the main floor and the second bathroom is downstairs which did not end up to be super helpful to us.

Perfect

Our stay was lovely. We were in town for my son’s football game at Juniata College. Location was very convenient, just minutes away from the campus and Walmart for all of our tailgate needs! The property was very clean and homey. Will definitely book again for home games!

Lovely house, great location

Lovely home for our Christmas holiday stay. Great location near Huntingdon and Raystown lake. Nice size home with everything we needed. Our dog came along and we all felt comfortable here. Appreciated the use of home while visiting family for the holiday. Would definitely stay again!

My fiancé and I traveled to State College for my Graduation Ceremony from Penn State. We ended up in Huntington because of a lack of available properties closer to State College and the exorbitant prices being charged. We could not be more pleased with the home that David and Rosa shared with us! The home is very beautiful and well taken care of. Everything was amazing and the personal touches that David and Rosa provided for us was over the top wonderful!! They provided personalized graduation decorations for me and a very nice gift basket. The home was very clean and comfortable. Whenever we needed for anything, they were but a phone call or text away and immediately responsive. Thank you, David and Rosa, for a memorable stay and a big positive addition to my fantastic Graduation weekend! Ed and Tammy

Sunshine Retreat is located conveniently in centra Pennsylvania with access to the main roads running both north/south, Route 26, and east/west, Route 22. Raystown Lake is an amazing man-made reservoir that was created by the US Army Corp of Engineers as part of the Chesapeake Valley flood control program. The lake offers world-class fishing and plenty of boating. The Juniata River and Raystown Branch provide opportunities for boating, tubing, and fishing. Sunshine Retreat is also near Spruce Creek, one of the top fly fishing waters in the state.

Direct access to Rt. 26 with plenty of parking. The property is often visited by deer, squirrels, wild turkey, and other wild life. The property is only a short distance to a shooting range for those whom like to hunt and also very close to one of Huntingdon County's best golf courses at the Huntingdon Golf Club.
