Located downtown Tybee, this quaint and cute studio is only one block away from the beach, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Right next door is T S Chu & Co, Tybee's only large retail store with everything from sunscreen, gifts and decor to clothing, tools, and camping gear. Other wonderful attractions you must visit include Tybee Beach Pier And Pavilion, Tybee Island Light Station & Museum, and Fort Pulaski National Monument.

This small, but mighty vacation treasure is a slice of beachside paradise. The snowbird-friendly studio was previously an old boarding house, which means you will find plenty of history right here! Packed into a small studio, the Carbo House offers a comfortable bed, a convenient table for two, a TV with cable, free high-speed WiFi, an apartment-sized fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, beach towels, and a bathroom. The wrap-around deck is a great spot where you can unwind and enjoy the refreshing breeze as you watch people come and go. Additional amenities include an outdoor shower.

You are definitely paying for the location of this property. My partner and I enjoyed our time here for the weekend, but it wouldn’t have been sustainable for longer than 3 nights

Floor was nasty. The rug needs to be cleaned. Pictures made this place look a lot better than it was. We left after one night.

Now I completely understand the meaning of “quaint”. The room is just that, a room. The bed was way too soft and not enough pillows. I found a handful of roaches roaming the bathroom and sink area.

Review

I had toliet issues the evening I arrived. Someone came to fix it but in the morning it wasn't working again. They came back to fix it..it was an inconvenience but it was remedy before I left. I struggled w the door lock for the whole visit.Even though the unit was small & had ac & fan it never felt real cool. The water pressure wasnt that great, more pressure down at the beach. It was nice location for people watching, the beach, within walking distance for restaurants & so forth. I enjoyed the onsite parking.

Cute shabby chic near restaurants, shops and the beach

It was a cozy studio perfect for one person. I enjoyed sitting on the veranda with coffee or a cocktail and watching the world go by. The beach is a literal two minute walk.The unit needs better lighting, though. The high light bulbs are not enough. It also needs another electrical outlet in the bathroom or kitchen area. I had a lot of trouble with the coded deadbolt lock and when I called the property manager they were no help. I ended up leaving the door unlocked while I was away for fear of not being able to get back in.

Good Location but Lacking

Good Location to the beach, restaurants, and retail shops. The room was not well lit. The water was not used as it smelled like sewage. Also, it was very difficult to rest because of the excess outside noise. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Gross! Couldn’t even stay the night

Black mold , air filter caked with dirt and dust, bugs in the bed.. I have the pictures to prove it. I would never stay here.

Weekend getaway

This studio was great for being within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and the beach! If you are looking for a place to relax in between all your Tybee activities this is a great spot. The porch is the perfect place to relax and cool off after a day at the beach!

Cute room

The room is cozy and had everything that was needed. Coffee pot, microwave and small fridge, the queen bed was comfortable. The location is perfect for being right in the middle of the shops and not far to restaurants. So close to the beach and the balcony is great for watching everything going on. Loved my stay.

Weekend Stayed

The property was close to all the attractions in Tybee and all were within walking distance. Property was small and simple, just enough for a weekend trip. Only thing that needed change was a bigger window unit is needed to actually cool the room.

The location is exceptional if you enjoy the pier and main attractions like restaurants. On the other hand, it is so noisy which is no fault of the property. The room is perfect for 1-2 people travelling minimally. The room is equipped with a nicely sized refrigerator and clean microwave. It includes paper towels and cleaning supplies for dishes. Some upgrades have definitely been made since the last reviews. The bed is comfortable and there are outlets to plug in items. What I didn't like: there is NO water pressure at all, one of the main outlets has a broken piece of metal sticking out of it, the bar next door has an outdoor patio that sounds like it's in the room with you. I'm sure it's hard to manage as this is a residential location too, but there are roaches.

Short trip to beach

Room was not what pictures show air conditioning was out dated and to small for room foil odor from shower drain no ceiling fans couldn’t plug in microwave or coffee pot parking lot was full of weeds location was perfect though short walk from beach we cut our stay short and left two days early

Good location, terrible room

The “queen bed” is a futon, and a lumpy one at that. The a/c unit has so much mold inside it is likely the next site where they film The Last of Us, not to mention half of it was gone on the outside and it would not get below 77f. Location is great, except for the dude on his motorcycle blasting Ricky Martin at 2am that didn’t want to leave, but we figured it would be noisy being in town. Would be great if they just put a real bed in there and replaced the a/c unit with one from this decade at least.

I really like the location of the place restaurant close by beach 2 min away couldn’t ask for a better location with everything around rental bikes and shops to only reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is the bed just needs to be upgraded and the shower head but other than that I’ll be coming back for sure had the best time there thanks a lot for having me
