Love nature, this traditional Log Cabin on Slippery Rock Creek is perfect for the whole family. Hiking, Fishing, Kayaking, & State Parks minutes away!

Slippery Rock Cabin, built in 1976 by James Hensel, served as the sales office and model for Western Penn Log Homes, dealer for New England Log Homes and offered several designs all with their unique hand peeled log construction. Directly on Slippery Rock Creek, you have easy access to over 700 feet of creek frontage.
Minutes from notable McConnell Mill, Moraine State Park, Lake Arthur, Living Treasures, local must-sees, restaurants, and shopping.
Please note: The property is on US-422 you will hear the road. It's busy during the day, less so in the evening. Weekends can vary with Holidays. This is a fairly busy tourist area.

The place is such a cute cabin on the Slippery Rock Creek. The family enjoyed the easy access to the creek for fishing and exploring. Our family enjoyed the peacefulness of the place and the char. The cabin is less then 7min drive to lake. The place had everything you need for a get away from home. The host of the Cabin was easy to get ahold and fast to respond if we needed her. It definitely will be a place our family would go back to.

Wonderful Cabin

They have done a wonderful job updating this cabin and it has everything you could want. Comfy beds and furniture, great kitchen and bathrooms with lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy. Lots of great little touches and extras, we all loved it.

Best experience with any VRBO!!

The owners thought of everything from having firewood to snacks on hand for us. There was charcoal for the grill and water in the fridge! We are already discussing another booking for our team as the location and layout were perfect for our needs.

Beautiful Cabin!

What a wonderful place! The only complaint was that it was a lot closer to the main road than we expected. We stayed inside most of the time so that wasn't a huge deal but it did make falling a sleep difficult for my husband and I. You could really hear the semi trucks.

Slippery Rock Cabin always delights!!

I've stayed here twice before with friends and family, due originally to proximity to an annual event in the area. This time, we came just for the Cabin, and got a chance to enjoy things our busy schedule hasn't let us do before; exploding the path along the creek, resting by the firepit, etc. The area is as gorgeous in the Autumn as we'd hoped, and the care that Anita puts into preparing the Cabin for guests is evident everywhere, and very much appreciated. Already looking forward to our next stay - Thank You so much!!

We loved it

We enjoyed our stay so much. There were six of us in our group for a girls bachelorette weekend celebration. We were pleasantly surprised by so many things as soon as we entered the cabin & enjoyed the surrounding outdoor area too. The cabin was so well stocked and extremely comfortable. We highly recommend staying and plan to come back. Thank you for sharing such an amazing property.

Great place for family

Beautiful property. We came to visit family and it was the perfect spot for all age's. Kids are able to play in water and adults got to enjoy the porches and fire pit area. The road is loud but not a big issue. We will be renting this spot again. Thanks for the wonderful weekend.

Lovely retreat

We loved this cabin. It was comfortable and had all the amenities. The surrounding woods were beautiful and the creek was stunning. It is on a highway, so if you're looking for silence, this is maybe not for you. We found that this lovely setting truly diminished any sound we might have heard though. The host was lovely and very responsive to our needs. So try this place, you won't be disappointed! We'll definitely be returning.

Beautiful Property Close to Sights

The cabin is fantastic! Lots of extra features. The location is good; however, the property is next to a busy road. If you want easy access for day trips, it is perfect. If you want peace and quiet, there is too much traffic. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Places to visit nearby include McConnells Mill State Spark (1.8 mi.), Moraine State Park, and Living Treasures Animal Park.

We absolutely loved the slippery rock cabin! Beautiful and convenient- the owners thought of everything- from a well stocked kitchen to a coffee bar and firewood- we felt at home and pampered! Already looking for dates to return! Our family was charmed and our mini reunion was a massive success!

The perfect getaway

We were absolutely in love with the back yard. The double level decks which over looks Slippery Rock Creek. Anita’s home was warm and cozy! Open room concept including kitchen, dinning area and lovely family room with a vaulted ceiling and a large fan! Bedding was amazing along with many amenities and a nice assortment of snacks!

Stayed 3 nights near the end of September, looking for a quiet getaway. The cabin was extremely clean, comfortable, and better stocked than we normally experience. The check in was easy, with clear instructions to utilize everything in the cabin. Beautiful setting by Slippery Rock Creek! Plan on returning this winter!

Kindness and consideration in everything!

My friends and I stayed here for 9 nights in August. The house and grounds were beautifully and thoughtfully cared for, all rooms and spaces were clean and well-provisioned, and the property owner very responsive and considerate. We were attending an event, and didn't get to make use of the outdoor amenities, such as the well-stocked fire pit, but hope to do so the next time we stay. We are *definitely* planning to cone back and stay again! Additional notes: There is easy parking available for 4 cars, more if you don't mind parking each other in. The stairs down to the river may be difficult for folks with mobility issues, but for those able to safely make the trek, the outdoor spaces and views are worth the effort. I can't say enough good about our experience with staying here. If you're considering staying at this property, do it! :)

We love the outdoors and have been looking for a cabin on water for a long time. When the original owners for this property decided to sell it, we knew it was the one. Just wait till you first go down the stairs to the creek and you will know what I mean. Until then, you will have to imagine it.

I find that being between the creek and the rock cliffs to be an experience you have to feel to understand.
