Great Location for a Beach Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in this unit several times in the past few years. It is the perfect location and it being a first floor unit, makes it easy to maneuver around. The place was clean but it could use few updates. The couch is old and discolored, the pillows on the couch should be replaced. The microwave did not work. The bedroom could use more lighting and a bigger tv. None of these issues were major and they did not affect our stay.

Great Location, but with a Few Challenges

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You can't beat this location! Steps from the beach, you're right there front and center. You can see bits and pieces of the ocean if you are standing inside your unit. The property was super quiet, as there were only a handful of folks staying there. There is a pool that is kept really clean on the front side of the property. It was absolutely wonderful to sit on the enclosed lanai each morning and eat breakfast. The TV/DVD system was easy to use/navigate. The pullout couch does give additional sleeping, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be comfortable for two adults (the unit says it accomodates 4 people).Unfortunately, the maintenance crew has not trimmed the greenery right outside the unit which blocks the ocean view almost entirely. The lanai does need a ceiling fan because it gets to be too hot out there to enjoy it during the rest of the day (likely May-Oct.). The unit also needs a box fan to drown out street noise/sirens. The AC is ice cold and cooled the unit perfectly.We did have a few issues there including running out of dish pods (they left 2 to "start" with). Because the dishwasher is so small, you'll need to run a load a day. We went to the office to get a few more, but that person sent us to Beach Castle, who said they "didn't have any," then sent us to another location. This run around was a waste of time and could totally be avoided by the management company leaving a reasonable amount of dishwasher soap (liquid) and of course a couple extra beach towels (the bath towels were generous).The shower is disgusting. There is prolific mildew throughout it and the shower floor is quite dirty. The showerhead is very tiny and doesn't put out a lot of water. This was a big sore spot on our trip, as "getting clean" in the shower never felt right. There weren't any tools to clean it ourselves, so we made do. I know showers at beach places can be sketchy, but this was over the top gross. The BR drawers aren't usable b/c t

Unit 7 Bright and Clean

The unit was very clean. The screened in lanai was awesome. We could sit on the lanai and listen to the waves. The lounge chairs already situated on the beach was a huge plus. We had no need to drag our own chairs to the surf. The pool is small but it was spotless and heated. We loved our stay and we will be back! The KY Couple

Lovely condo needs some love

Clean though a sour odor in the bathroom even after a leak repair. The ice maker worked sporadically. There is structural repair needed on the lanai. The pool is lovely but the vegetation is overgrown & a great place for noseeums.

Relaxing vacation

Don't know how the pictures are so bright but the condo was pretty dark. Bathroom very small. I'd compare it to a stay in a hotel suite with kitchen. But overall a nice place. Needs a good deep cleaning. Bathroom sink kept clogging even though maintenance was out. I would probably stay again as the views and closeness to the beach are worth it.

A couple of thoughts about the interior.....1.rear door has no key2.unit a bit dark. Needs more lighting especially over the table3. all of the rugs are very worn and look a bit dirty. Replacing these would make a world of difference4.Sheets were pretty worn. Could use a new bedspread too.5 Stove top grills are tilted. Every time I tried to cook an egg, it ended up at the bottom of the pan.6. Toilet paper was so thin. Had to use double the amount.7. Outside beach umbrella was badly ripped.8. Only one low beach chair. We did not bring others9. One guest smoked cigars at the beach and in the Gulf. Very rude.10. Pool was too warm to use.We love the location and want to come back.Just a few updates and I would definitely recommend.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo location was superb for beach access and for being mid island. This was our third rental from RVA within the past 12 months and we had owned our own condo for 25 yrs. prior to selling in early 2021. The condition of this condo was not good. Upon entering the first day, we needed to clean the interior of fridge and wipe the dust and grunge off of the air vents. The place smelled very musty as well. We also loaded the dishwasher to clean dirty glasses and silverware. The physical condition of this condo showed the owner is not taking care of the place. There were empty nail holes in walls and the plaster was in bad shape by the door to the porch, there was a hole in wall I could stick my hand through. When you opened the utility closet, there was a ring of grungy dust all around the doorway. We rented out our condo when we had it and NEVER left in this condition for a tenant. Based on our other stays with RVA with feel this is an owner issue, but it becomes a liability for RVA as some point as well. We've stayed at Cedars East and Silver Sands, where both condos were in great shape and clean. We'll rent from RVA again, but NOT this unit for sure. I've already told friends good things about RVA but I'll tell them to skip looking at OutRigger #7.

Great Location!

Property is in a great location beach i s fantastic and private. Room is nice. but we had a few minor maintenance issues that went unresolved. We left messages for someone to fix but call was never returned.

Reviewer Comments: From the beginning in walking in: no air conditioning working, smelled, pantry had old food alongside a can of Raid and household cleaner, last night plumbing disaster in the bathroom had water gushing out of shower drain and spraying black particles and toilet when flushed ran water out of the bottom and into the hall. Had to leave early to stay where there was a working bathroom; beautiful quiet beach location, comfortable bed, rest of condo needs updating

Great stay

We loved our stay and the proximity to the beach. The accommodations were clean and comfortable.They provided lounge chairs were a nice touch but we did end up having to drive a couple of miles down the road to a few days during the week because red tide was so bad. But that has nothing to do the property itself! Would love to come back.
