I booked this property in September 2024 for our family to stay during Christmas week of 2025 (December 20–27). I have never written a negative review before, as I understand that mistakes happen. Unfortunately, this was the most stressful and embarrassing vacation experience I have ever had, much of which occurred in front of my children and extended family staying nearby. From August 2025 until shortly before arrival, I attempted multiple times to contact the host through Vrbo about hosting Christmas dinner for family in nearby cabins, but received no response. I eventually had to call her directly, and she said it would be fine. The host finally contacted us through Vrbo while we were driving to the cabin on December 20.About 10 hours into our 12-hour drive, we were notified that the home had been double-booked and that we would need to leave on Christmas Day to move to a smaller cabin that could not accommodate our family of ten. After contacting Vrbo, we were ultimately allowed to stay, but this caused significant stress.The hot tub was not cleaned or usable until December 24, and the technician was unaware guests were staying. We also found unsmoked cigarettes in a bunk bed area, along with personal items left in nightstands. The downstairs bathroom walls appeared unclean, as noted in a prior review. An electric company representative to deliver a disconnect notice. Finally, on December 26, a cleaner arrived stating another guest was checking in that day.
