Welcome to our family-friendly home on Lake Waneta! This charming lakefront property is located just 15 minutes away from Downtown Hammondsport and 20 minutes from Downtown Penn Yan, offering the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience.

The house features three cozy bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a separate bunk house with four single beds - perfect for accommodating families or groups of friends. The decor is warm and inviting, with plenty of natural light and rustic touches that add to the ambiance of the space.

One of the highlights of this property is its expansive lake facing front yard, which offers ample space for outdoor activities and relaxation. Take advantage of the private dock and lake frontage, perfect for swimming, fishing, or simply enjoying the stunning views of the lake.

Inside the house, you'll find all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including bathroom essentials, a fully equipped kitchen (Lobster pot included!), comfortable living room with large sofa, and a dining area that overlooks the lake. With a newly installed reverse osmosis water filtration system, we can proudly offer all our guests clean drinking water, too. There's also plenty of space to unwind in the parlor with a bar, pool table, and air hockey table. Enjoy quality time with loved ones, whether you're playing board games, shooting pool, or watching movies.

This home on Lake Waneta is the perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some quality time with friends and family.

We stayed here for a family getaway with siblings and spouses. The open floor plan was nice. LOVED the game room. The outdoor spaces were also lovely. We used the kayaks and the fire pit. Kitchen was well-equipped.

A nice lake house with a few opportunities for improvement that would bring it from good to top notch. Views from the lake were phenomenal and the fire pit and porch setup were great. We really enjoyed the game room and comfortable living room. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked and appliances in good condition. For our party of 8, the shared living spaces were enjoyable and had sufficient seating without feeling cramped.We did have a few things that would have improved our stay and the house for us. We couldn’t find some items we needed like trivets. The bathroom in the master bedroom has an open ceiling which makes it like an echo chamber which is not ideal. The separate bunk house not having a bathroom was tough for our group as that meant a lot of people sharing 1 hall-accessible bathroom (and the bunkhouse did lock on its own a few times so you had to bring the key). We also did not receive a guidebook upon booking as the listing states but did receive one 24 hours before check in. This one lacked details we were hoping for but the owner did provide quick answers to my questions.

Fishing excellent

I probably should keep this a secret but we go to a different lake every year as a family. The men to fish and the rest to enjoy the lake. This by far was the best lake ever to catch fish. They even just started to catch and release. The problem with the lake for the rest of us were the weeds. You have to go to the middle of the lake to enjoy the water. If you have little children they can not go off the dock to swim. The house was good and well equipped with anything you may need. The game room was used by all. The bunk house was great for the teens the only thing is the picture shows a TV in that area and there is no TV. Also if you are bringing a boat the dock is only have the size as the picture shows and there are no cleats to tie your boat so plan accordingly.

We had a fantastic time! The cottage was clean and very comfortable. The fire pit is beautiful and the lake provides the perfect back drop! A few of the ‘provided’ items were not enough for the week. There is a Dollar General close by that we visited a few times to restock.

Beautiful Lake House with Some Room for Improvement

My friends and I stayed at this beautiful lake house for a week-long getaway. Overall, we had a fantastic time, but there are areas that could use attention. What we liked/loved: The view of the lake was breathtaking. We spent as much time as possible enjoying the view from the covered deck. The open flow between the living/dining room and kitchen was perfect for spending time together. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, making preparing meals easy. The beds in the main house were incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was clean and cozy. The entire house was clean and well-maintained. The game room was a hit among our group, and the second refrigerator was great! What should/could be better: One significant issue was the persistent standing water in the backyard, particularly around the covered deck and firepit area. This made the yard largely unusable and attracted a lot of bugs. We didn’t swim because of the amount of seaweed in the lake. We understand the owners can’t control the amount of seaweed, but investing in some remediation (e.g.vacuuming or raking) would improve the experience. The bedrooms and bunkhouse need curtains. We hung sheets for privacy and to block light so we could sleep. The bunkhouse needs a dehumidifier to maintain a more comfortable and bug-free environment. The sheets and blankets felt damp most nights. The a/c units struggled to keep the house cool, particularly on hotter days. The spare rooms were warm at night.

Great family vacation spot.

The game room was perfect on a rainy day. The grandsons caught fish and went swimming. We all had a great stay. We would recommend for any family and we will return.
