Located in a quiet secluded neighborhood at a cool elevation minutes from beautiful waterfalls and downtown Hilo, where you can shop the famous Hilo Farmers Market. Come relax and unwind in your private tropical jungle oasis after a day of hiking and exploring all that Hawaii Island's east side has to offer.

This immaculately furnished one bedroom charming Ohana unit offers comfortable indoor/outdoor living featuring full outdoor kitchen with induction cook top as well as indoor kitchenette, full size refrigerator, comfortable king size bed, private hot tub, private outdoor hot water shower, grilling area, new Samsung washer and dryer and Samsung smart TV. Located on ground level with a separate private entrance and one off street parking spot. Surrounded by beautiful tropical landscaping and a robust collection of the local bird population.

Located 5 minutes from Rainbow Falls and boiling pots, and less than 10 minutes from Kaumana Caves. 10 minutes to Downtown Hilo where you can enjoy the best Farmers Market on the Island and many eclectic shops. 20 minutes to Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, or less than 30 minutes to Akaka falls. 40 minutes to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where there are countless hiking trails and places to explore. Quick access ( 5 minutes) to Saddle road which connects the east and west sides of the island.

The hosts were welcoming and the room & property was very clean, comfortable, and had literally everything we needed & more. The outdoor area was very peaceful, with the waterfall and fish, and it was fun to be able to cook outside. Very private and comfortable.

What an amazing place! Every single detail was thought about. We loved feeding the fish every morning, relaxing in the beautiful outdoor kitchen and backyard, an Simon the Siamese greeting us every morning was lovely! We loved the sounds of the coqui frogs at night and the sounds of birds in the morning. This place has everything and we highly recommend! Gregory an Dana are the most wonderful hosts an provide your stay with al the information you would need for touring and exploring the island!

Greg and Dana are wonderful hosts. The space was better than described with a beautiful backyard garden and koi pond, super comfortable bed and pillows, options for indoor or outdoor shower, laundry facilities, and an amazing outdoor kitchen we utilized to make stir-fry noodles with ahi pokè with a fresh tuna i caught the previous day. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Close to rainbow falls and Kaŭmana Caves too.

The outdoor kitchen was absolutely wonderful. The choice to do laundry at no cost was wonderful. So great not to go home with dirty clothes. Location was close to lots of different waterfalls and water parks. It was a joy staying here except ear plugs are a good choice for the bird that sqauwked all night. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Host did seem to think of everything: water in fridge, coffee pods available with creamer, and fully stocked dishes. Very beautiful back yard. The only complaint was it was a little difficult to park in the driveway so the owner could continue to get in and out.

Immaculate, comfortable, well appointed and fully equipped with a beautiful garden setting off the covered patio.Very relaxing. It will be difficult to discover a better place to reside while spending some days around Hilo. The outdoor kitchen, shower and hot tub are a pleasure.

If you love nature, surrounded by lush tropical beauty, in a quiet location; this is your destination. Gregory and Dana did not miss a single detail when they called this an Oasis. First off, Gregory met us when we arrived. He was nothing short of a kind soul with true island mana. Entering the property you have your own private entrance. You instantly walk into a well designed, fully functional, zen space. The outside kitchen is amazing with everything you can possibly think of. The hot tub was immaculate, the outside shower, a gem. Let’s not forget the landscape and koi pond, which the provide food to feed the fish. We also found plenty of frogs, geckos, lizards and more. Walking into the guest house you’ll find a modern, very clean space, with a king size bed. There is also a sofa bed. The bathroom has a second shower and a toilet with a bidet. At night you get to fall asleep to the beautiful sounds of nature.They have yoga mats to provide you a great space for yoga in the morning, which we took full advantage of.Do yourself a favor and escape the Kona side and get some true relaxation.

This place is amazing. The moment we walked into the space we decided we would stay in for meals and enjoy the oasis. The pictures do not do it justice. It is so beautifully done. Manicured garden, awesome outdoor patio area. Fun outdoor shower and best of all is the private hot tub! It was perfect! Wish we had been able to stay longer!

A Perfect, Immaculate Oasis in Hilo

We had a wonderful stay at Gregory and Dana’s Rivendell Oasis in Hilo! While touring the Island of Hawaii, we chose this property based on its fantastic location near key sites — and it completely exceeded our expectations.This was hands down the cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. Every detail was carefully thought out to maximize comfort and relaxation. After long days exploring and visiting the Hilo Farmers Market, the hot tub was the perfect place to unwind. The koi pond and beautifully designed backyard landscaping created such a peaceful atmosphere — we found new details to admire each day.The home strikes a perfect balance between classic Hawaiian cottage charm and modern luxury. From the soft-close microwave to the high-end fixtures, everything felt brand new and thoughtfully curated. The outdoor kitchen and gorgeous lighting made evenings extra fun, and the outdoor shower was one of the nicest we've ever used — better than many indoor showers!Thank you, Dana and Gregory, for a short but truly lovely stay. We hope to return again!

The perfect rental unit for a week

It could not have been equiped and presented better! Easy to get to, clean, quiet, peacefull, easy parking. We sat every morning enjoying a coffee in a beautiful setting in the back. Complete privacy, great hot tub and when we had any question Dana and Gregory were immediately available.and very friendly and helpful. question immeditae

A real jewel

We have done many VRBO's & Air B&B's and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Absolutely immaculate & comfortable with no amenities missing. You have a gorgeous backyard with a stream fed goldfish pond, seating area, jacuzzi, bbq, and snorkeling equipment. Great location, five minutes to Hilo and central to all the exploring you want to do. Far better than the pictures can convey. If we ever go back to Hilo, this is where we will stay!

Truly an Oasis

The neighborhood was quiet, and the home was lovely and private. The backyard was also fantastic to sit outside. The bed was extremely comfortable which was perfect after being out all day and wanting a good nights sleep for the day ahead! Fantastic hosts as well. They were quick to respond if anything is needed. The location was also perfect to get to several different areas easily!

Paradise awaits you!

My wife and I enjoyed every minute here and would come back again. You have everything you need including a private hot tub and patio. It is convenient to Hilo and was in a very nice neighborhood that was quiet at night. Mahalo!

Beautiful property

We were so happy with this stay. The house is so cute and comfortable. The waterfall and yard were magic. So peaceful. Dana and Gregory were attentive but not overly so. Mahalo Dana and Gregory!

It truely is a paradise. The hot tub and waterful are beautiful and so relaxing. The coqui frogs and birds really add to the vacation. The host has thought of everything that you might need to enjoy your stay. Highly recommend staying here.

our favorite place to stay in Hilo

We liked the stay so much last time (21') that we hunted down the property for our visit this year. The layout is really nice for two and has everything you'll need. Hosts are great as well, very friendly / approachable. Final notes: LOVE the outdoor stove for cooking and the hot tub is a treat after a long day of exploring the island.

Peaceful, relaxing getaway

This is our second time staying at this lovely property. We came over from Kona side for World Sprints time trials for outrigger canoe and it’s the perfect spot for resting and relaxing after a long day of paddling. So cozy and peaceful. The hosts are so gracious, the accommodations well thought out and the hot tub is the icing on the cake. This is now our go-to spot when staying over this side. Looking forward to our next visit. Unique stay at the Rivendell Oasis!

Gregory & Dana have created such a unique and beautiful space. We were able to disconnect during our stay just as we wanted. Everything was working as described. The indoor and outdoor kitchen were completely equipped and when we couldn't find something they got back to us very quickly. Thanks Gregory & Dana!
