We had an enjoyable time staying in this house. Plenty of room for everyone. Great communication with owner a couple bumps that were addressed quickly. Would recommend this property.

I lived in the country until i was 12; however i soent a lot of time at my grandparents dairy farm...this was like coming home! I loved the fact that my daughter and 2 grown grandsons had their own bedrooms and there were 3 baths. We also had room to spread out so we werent in each others space. I sat outside on the covered porch and enjoyed the view...especially the barns! It was a great calming and peaceful home. Thank you so much for sharing with us!...

A real Gem

Walking into this cozy farmhouse was amazing. The cleanliness and all the beautiful touches made it hard to leave. My husband , daughter and son-in-law and 3 young kids felt at home instantly. Thank you.

Family Getaway

The house was as described on the VRBO site. Beautiful and spacious. My family and I spent time together, but still had our own space. The house was clean, without potpourri or scented plug-ins, which I am grateful for. The property was gorgeous. Fire pit, s'mores, my niece chasing fireflies. fireflies...perfect!

Great weekend

We loved being out in the open and enjoying the stars at night. We hiked at the various parks around us most of the day time and relaxed at the house in the evenings. Perfect our group.

Very clean. Remote location and quiet!

Property was spacious, exceptionally clean and kitchen has everything you need. We explored the outside property and when we came back everyone in our group, including the dog, had ticks on them. Obviously no fault of the owners but just be aware to do a thorough tick check upon returning. Close to Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock. It’s a remote location and takes about 10 mins from main road.

So Quiet!!!

We loved our stay . The house was beautiful and the fields were great. It was a beautiful night sky with absolutely no highway sounds. Watching the sunrise from the front porch was also pretty cool!

Everything you would need

We had a great time at this property. My friends and I who have turkey hunted this area for years, decided to abandon our campers and go this route. We were not disappointed. The house was very spacious and clean. Property was immaculate. I could definitely see myself bringing my family back as well and staying at this place.

This property is a little hard to get to, but worth the trip. It is very close to Garden of the gods and other southern Illinois attractions.

Serene vacation spot

Our group of 6 adults was looking for a place to stay while we hiked in Shawnee National forest. We spent three nights at this beautiful Farm home and it was perfect for what we wanted. This home was plenty of room for us and had all the amenities we desired. The beautiful countryside was so peaceful and made our stay extra special. The owner was very attentive to any questions that we had. We would definitely recommend this home.

Beautiful location and home

The home and property is beautiful and very close to Shawnee National Forest. Takes awhile to get there on back roads but so serene and relaxing. We enjoyed walking around the property but could not tell where it ends and the neighbors begin so it would be nice to have a map or notes on that. We enjoyed the birds and the quiet. We headed out to explore the National Forest and it was a short drive. Beds were comfortable. Nice decor. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice TV watching area. The WiFi was spotty for us. Although we did not leave food out on the counter, there were a few mouse poops on the kitchen counter in the morning. I took off one star on cleanliness for that but honestly it's to be expected in the country. To access all 3 bathrooms you have to go through a bedroom. So the people in the 4th bedroom - without a bathroom attached - have to go through another person's bedroom to get to it. (There is no bathroom accessible without going through a bedroom.) The bedroom right inside the front mudroom door, the door latch/lock does not work, and that bathroom has no door. We had 7 adults; one single and 3 couples. So this was a bit of an issue for us. I was frustrated by communication with the property manager on a question I had about my invoice. He was argumentative and communicated poorly via the Vrbo messaging system. He kept wanting me to call him, which then would mean our discussion wasn't recorded. (Plus I was at work and could not call.) He basically accused me of trying to get a free night which was in no way the purpose of my question. It turns out the invoice on the Vrbo website was incorrect and very confusing, and I had sent him screen shots along with my questions, which he never seemed to refer to when he answered. The manager should be able to figure this out and explain this in writing in one or 2 messages. We exchanged multiple messages and I ended up having to contact Vrbo myself and search back through my emails to get to the bottom of it. I had booked with a 20% discount which was applied to only 2 of my 3 nights; he had said 5 days ago he would refund the difference but I do not yet have a refund on my credit card; however the amount is not worth continuing to communicate with him.

Definitely lives up to it’s name….Cozy Farm House

The house is very roomy and comfortable. All necessary kitchen items were available and laundry room well stocked. We even were able to park our cars in the garage! Comfortable beds and so quiet at night. There are several barns and a small pond on the property. We enjoyed walking around the yard. Loved this house!

Charming and peaceful

We felt right at home during our stay. Such a beautiful, clean, and cozy farmhouse. The property is so peaceful with plenty of room to roam and the host was very friendly and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Garden of the Gods, Rem Rock trail, and High Knob are all great hikes located just a few miles from the property. Just an overall great experience!

Hidden Gem

This is the perfect property for exploring the the Shawnee National Forest. So close to the Garden of the Gods! The house had ample space for our kids and extended family. The rooms were very clean. The kitchen was fully functional and we were able to cook meals with no problems. All the bathrooms were en suite, which was very convenient. We had a great time, we’ll be back!
