My experience at this property was extremely disappointing and fell far short of the expectations set by the listing. Upon arrival, it was immediately evident that the home had not been properly cleaned or maintained. The entryway was in poor condition, with grass tracked inside the front door and insects present. The condition of the interior was equally concerning—lights in the living room did not function, the flooring was unlevel and visibly separating, and overall, the house felt neglected and unsafe.The environment was unwelcoming from the start. It was over 90 degrees outside, yet no air conditioning had been turned on prior to our arrival. The heat trapped inside the home created a strong, unpleasant odor, making the space feel uncomfortable and uninhabitable. The back door was shockingly secured with duct tape rather than a proper lock or repair, which raised serious safety concerns.Cleanliness was another major issue. The remote controls had visible insect droppings, as did the area above the shower. The toilet itself was unsanitary, blackened on the inside, and the baseboards behind it were stained with urine. These conditions are unacceptable in any rental property, especially one advertised on a platform such as VRBO.When I brought these issues to the host’s attention, they chose to dismiss my concerns, claiming we were exaggerating our experience, rather than acknowledging or attempting to remedy the situation.
