This house was adorable. Needs some more work done to it. The host was very helpful and easy to work with. It was a great weekend.

Thermostat issues

We were in town for a gymnastics competition. We selected this property because of the soaking tub. It was very cold and we weren't able to adjust the thermostat. We contacted the host and they were able to turn the heat on from there end. It did warm up, however it turned off in the middle of the night. We had to contact the host to turn it on again and wait for the house to warm before showering. It was very frustrating & unconformable. The exact same thing happened on 2nd night, after asking to please let the heat run throug out the night.

It was alright

Entry/check in was super simple. Our host was excellent with communication. The carpet was all new and clean, the house was not dusty. The bedding was all new and clean. The towels were fresh. Our host was great with communicating and got our issue solved quickly. However once we arrived we noticed a few issues. First- the house was FREEZING when we arrived. Second- there was A LOT of maybe water damage to the kitchen floors, a number of the planks were warped and lifted. After we tripped on one we moved a stool over the questionable area to keep us from walking/tipping over the loose planks. Third- there were large cracks in all the walls and door jams. I realize this is just an aesthetic issue but when you can’t shut a door because the crack in the wall has shifted the door jam, it’s a little questionable. The issue with the cold was resolved the morning after we arrived. I was impressed that they were able to get a same day handy man out. Once we had heat, things were immensely better. Overall, it was a good stay.

I would not stay here again

The temperatures were predicted to be below freezing during our stay so I asked the host if we needed to drip the faucets while we were there. She said yes and said she'd be sure that we arrived to a warm house. When the first of our party arrived it was 55 degrees inside. They figured out how to adjust the thermostat to get it to a reasonable temp our first night, but the thermostat automatically adjusted over night and we woke to a very cold house the next day. We alerted the host and she said that she would adjust it. We again had to fiddle with it to get the house to warm up. We went out for the day and I messaged the host when we were about 2 hours from being back in the house asking that she please check the temp in the house. When we got back it was again 55 in the house. I advised the host of that and she was completely unconcerned. AGAIN the thermostat adjusted the temp overnight and it was too cold in the house this morning to comfortably shower. It was a programable thermostat and this issue should have been easy for the host to address. In addition to that issue the water temp in one of the showers never got above lukewarm, one shower did not drain properly so you were standing in ankle deep water to shower and one had a leak around the shower head that had clearly been repaired multiple times. There are a lot of repairs needed - cracks in the drywall and lifting laminate flooring in several places. Lack of bedside tables was inconvenient.
