Pleasantly Cozy!

House was lovely and my family of 5 was very comfortable here. Very quick and convenient trip down the road to St Mary’s. Communication from the host was great and very smooth to check in and out.

Easy Access to Mayo

This home has easy access to Mayo. It worked well for our short stay. Jessica was gracious to let us have an early check-in after an all night stay in the ER. Any issues were promptly addressed.

We needed to be in Rochester for my mom’s annual visit with her specialist. Because of COVID we needed to be there 2 nights and 3 days with a surprise snow storm. Location, amenities and the power of God in every room. Will definitely utilize these properties for our next visit.

We chose this VRBO because it advertised being “3 blocks” from Mayo Clinic Hospital – Saint Marys Campus. In reality, it is closer to 8–10 city blocks. For most, that may be an inconvenience. For us, it was a major issue. My husband is a veteran in a wheelchair and I am an amputee. The route also includes steep hills, making access far more difficult than represented.When I contacted the owner, they offered to let us out of the 20-day stay, we did search to but there was no immediate alternative housing, and knowing this owner manages 18 properties in the area, we were concerned about moving only to end up in another one of their rentals in similar condition. We chose to stay and deal with what we knew.The home was not clean. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and dog waste throughout the yard. The property is in disrepair—loose toilet sear, the other was a barely functional non-working toilet, and appliances not functioning properly. We documented a long list but chose not to pursue it further after being told our dissatisfaction was due to our “situation.”This company presents their properties as a “blessing” and leans on faith-based messaging to build trust. That was not our experience. This stay was not a blessing—it was a lesson. Future renters, especially those with accessibility needs, should verify distance, terrain, and condition carefully before booking

We asked if you wanted to leave your reservation from day one since you were unhappy with everything and you would get a refund. You decided to stay for your entire stay. A hotel would have been available that would of had a tunnel system to the clinic but you decided to stay for the 20 days. If it was so bad why would anyone stay 20 days. We are here to help people not hurt them. After hosting this house for 8 years you have been the only one complaining about location. Whenever you had a concern we were right there to fix the issue. You said toilet was broken when the toilet seat was just loose. We ask previous guests to do dishes as one of the items to do before leaving. Cleaner didn't check this over and assumed last guest actually cleaned the dishes. As for the pet waste. Right before your arrival it snowed and covered up last guests dog waste so I don't know how I was suppose to know there was dog waste out there. All appliances worked during your stay. I have had many guests stay in this property after you and have no complaints at all. Actually they loved the house and our hospitality so much that I have had guests reach out to me about fond memories of this exact location and how they were concerned for us when the recent tornado came through town and wanted to make sure we were all right. I'm sorry you were under so much stress.

Mayo Clinic St Mary’s Pet Friendly

Very few properties allow for a small pet… which we have a 12 lb hyper-allergenic (non-shedding) mini Golden Doodle… You pay extra…(assumed it was for the extra cleaning effort they would provide, but sadly Not. Booked house had dog hair all over bed comforters and stains in that main bedroom comforter… host had alternative properties and worked with us to move to an adjacent smaller property- but easier for me to clean and my wife didn’t swell up from allergies instantly. Spent 2 hours mopping, dusting and wiping all the hair and dirt off the floors, furniture and baseboards to make the second home tolerable… ran the comforters through dryer on a hot cycle to remove any pet hair and somewhat sanitize. Behind and below furniture and beds was caked with dirt and pet hair. Showed host pictures and videos for feedback as to lack of cleaning. In general, house(s) were decently kept, but host indicated it is tough to find people to clean… ( I had hoped there was at least a credit for a cleaning or pet fee since the house was 100X cleaner when we left…;-(

You explained to us before booking your wife was allergic to cats. I told you we have no guarantee that someone didn't have a cat in the house. You booked the house. Then you explained that she had the allergic reaction and I instantly gave you two different houses to choose from but told you cleaning was not fully done in the house yet. You even switched the laundry for us so I don't understand why you thought cleaning job was even fully done. I had two houses blocked for you as VRBO will not allow you to change houses on their site. I was loosing funds due to you changing houses but we put the customer first and gave you the second house due to allergies. We put people first not money.

Blessed with hospitality

We are in town for a convention, seeking relaxation with distance from the hotel parties. Our host communicated with me from booking until checkout. The home is exactly as described: Amenities, convenient location to Mayo Center & dining, and covered by faith. We will happily return.

Could Be Cleaner

Unfortunately, we did not feel as comfortable as we would have liked given the overall cleanliness. There were dirty dishes and glasses in the cupboard. The place is a little worn and could use some sprucing up. The owner was very friendly and responsive.

We truly appreciate you. Robin, I wish you would have told me about this earlier and we would have taken care of the issue. Our last guests did all the dishes and put them away and we forgot to double check. Thanks for letting others know we are responsive and friendly.

Very comfortable

Overall we were very pleased with the house and the property manager. It is a very comfortable house with everything we needed. Nothing fancy which we prefer. Would definitely stay in again.
