Rappahanock Riverfront Cottage

Charming 4 bedroom/2 bath Rappahanock River cottage. Beautiful views and plenty to do! Fire pit, pingpong and a private dock...what more do you need? Bring your friends or family and enjoy the laid back River lifestyle. Enjoy walks, kayaking, fishing, crabbing and everything else the Rappahannock River has to offer. Plenty of fun activities in the area for all ages. Additional private outdoor shower is not included in bath description.

Full disclosure: there is a rather unsightly house right to the left of the house. Neighbors keep to themselves and pose no threat. We suggest wearing water shoes as there are large rocks, etc in the River. Please be careful when using the steps to the beach. The high tides continually cause damage, please be careful as they can be slippery. Cleaning fee is $150. There is an additional $25 pet cleaning fee per pet per stay.

We always love staying here! The house is in a great location and is clean and well-supplied. We like using the dock and sitting out on the screened-in porch, and love using the fire pit in the evenings.

This is a great little river cottage. Cozy, clean, and a beautiful view of the river. Four “ old” ladies together on a mission … coming in at night to the cottage was so welcoming after a long day.

Cozy, comfortable, first-class cottage

We had a great week on the river thanks to our fantastic host, Clint. Cottage is a wonderfully thoughtful renovation, set up for lots of fun activities inside and out. Plenty of beds and all the amenities with a superb dock and nice water access. We grilled, baked, caught lots of rays and even a few fish and crabs off the dock. Fun family activities close by, too. Highly recommend!

Great holiday visit

We had a great time staying over the long Labor Day weekend. Our young kids and our dogs had a great time playing in the water and fishing off the dock. The stairs to the sand had recently been destroyed, along with a portion of the dock, but we were able to manage with the pool stairs they temporarily put in place. The house is a great location, clean and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Perfect river getaway

We had a great time at the cottage! We had sand at low tide, which the kids + dogs loved, and a fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. The house was clean and we liked that they had games, binoculars, a hammock, and other fun added features on site. We had a great extended weekend and look forward to coming back again!

A weekend on the river

Comfortable property that had all that we needed for a relaxing extended weekend. The boys enjoyed the water and had fun fishing off of the dock (fortunately no one caught anything). Getting to watch the sunrise from the dock was absolutely phenomenal.

Great Family Vacation!

Awesome river house! We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and the furniture was really comfortable and clean. Plenty of room for our family to stretch out. The fishing was awesome off the end of the pier. We caught so many catfish! The views are amazing! My wife and I got up every morning and watched the sunrise off the end of the pier while enjoying a cup of coffee. The host, Clint, was very responsive. Answered all of our questions immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and Friendly

My family and I had an excellent stay! The property was easy to get to, and everything was just as described in the listing, The property was very well laid-out inside, with plenty of comfortable places to sit and great use of space. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we had no issues with meal prep or cleanup. There were plenty of bedrooms – more than enough for our party of six. Our older daughter particularly loved the bunk beds, and there was a small bedroom next to the master suite that was perfect for the baby. The exterior was beautiful, thanks in large part to the proximity of the river. The kids enjoyed splashing around while the grownups sat on the dock, picnic table, or beach chairs. On our one rainy day, there were plenty of games, puzzles, and other amenities to keep us entertained. While the weather was nicer, we took outings to some natural spots in the area. (Tip for families – take the kids to ACME Ice Cream Parlor in Tappahannock.) All in all, we had a wonderful time. Thanks for letting us stay at your place!
