Nice apartment in Poughkeepsie

The apartment was as described in the listing. The bed was very comfortable, great water pressure, had nice touches like coffee and a desk that I could work from. Poughkeepsie can have some rough areas but I never felt unsafe at this location as a woman traveling alone. There is a dedicated parking spot. There are key codes for both the front door and the apartment door so checking in was easy. There is an AC unit in the living room and the bedroom, the wall pad isn’t functional so be sure to engage the separate units for AC.

Expensive Mistake for Me

The location did not feel safe for a lone female traveler. The house is rundown and has an odor. The apartment smelled ok. The dormitory-style couch has many stains. The bed linens appeared to be fresh and clean. This could best be described as an inner city college fraternity apartment. I checked into a hotel. After advising the host why I wouldn't be staying, she responded quickly to say the location is safe and welcomed me to stop back anytime during my reserved 3 night period, which I would not even consider doing based on the above. Locals I met at the event I was attending agreed with my assessment of the neighborhood. This turned out to be an expensive mistake for me.

Nice apartment, not a great neighborhood

The apartment was nice for a short stay - the unit was clean and had everything you'd need in the kitchen. The bed was large and very comfortable. Check-in was easy and the host was communicative. The A/C are floor units not central air and amenities were very basic (thin toilet paper, small hotel shampoos and very tiny soaps) I'd recommend bringing your own toiletries. The building itself is pretty run down and smells like smoke. (The unit itself smelled fine). The neighborhood did not feel safe. This is no fault to the host and I should have done more research, but I did not feel comfortable walking around and was told by multiple people it wasn't a safe area to walk around in. Just a heads up, especially for any female solo travelers, to make sure to check out the area first to make sure you feel comfortable staying here.

Nice apt., poor outside

The apartment has been modernized and was nice although I couldn't seem to get the heat to work. But the lawn outside had very long grass, the front steps were in bad shape.

Comfy home base to explore the Hudson River valley

The Host did a great job with communication prior to arrival, and the upstairs apartment was clean and decently equipped. It was a convenient and central location to explore the river towns in the area!

Great spot to stay for a night or two when visiting Vassar or other colleges in area.

Everything we needed. Made meals in kitchen. Son slept on convertible sofa. King bed super comfy.

Great amenities

Enjoyed the attention to detail. Coffee, tea, extra towels, creamer, etc. the renovations that are complete are nice but the apartment still need alot of work.

This apartment was nicely decorated, had everything you would need for your stay, and was very clean. Also, the bed was very comfortable. Definitely recommend!

5 Day stay

Great place. Not sure about the parking situation. Read yes we have off street parking and then no we dont. Parking on the road is a pain as you have to move the car every day to one side of the road or other. Not good if on holiday and want a sleep in. A set of drawers would be great so you dont have to live out of a suitcase. Overall a beautiful apartment.
