By the River

Nice roomy home beside the river. Wonderful views and sound of river so calming. This home is in the woods and with the rainy weather, there were a lot of bugs. Partly due to my sister leaving the front door open for air and there being no screen door. She learned her lesson the first night! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

We were completely satisfied with our stay at Riverside Cottage in Kerrs Creek, VA. The setting was beautiful and the cottage itself was terrific! We could not have been more pleased than we are. We definitely hope to return!!

Great stay in Lexington

This is our second time to stay at this property and again, it was spacious and comfortable for our family group. We had crummy weather so couldn’t enjoy the outdoor spaces but we plan to return to Kerr’s Creek soon.

Lexington Wedding Weekend

This cottage was a good home base for our Lexington wedding weekend. Not walkable to town, but only a 5 minute drive! Very nice. Beautiful location with river in the back.

Perfect location

Spent a couple of nights while my son visited W&L. The house was a short drive from W&L, VMI, restaurants, shopping, gas stations, etc. The house itself was very, very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for the four of us, and the house can comfortably accommodate more. Although we had some neighbors and folks relaxing in the river a bit downstream as it was unseasonably hot, it was still very quiet and relaxing. It was nice to see people out enjoying the river and beautiful surroundings. We also were successful fishing in the evening! We would love to return during our future visits to W&L over the next four years. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

This location at Bean’s Bottom on the Maury River is a great place to stay and is about a 3 mile easy drive to and from Lexington.

Not directly on river; very clean; easy to reach managers

This home is very pleasant and comfortable. Most items were supplied as indicated, although the kitchen needed a pair of scissors and a basic can opener. We had to call for service when one of the toilets began leaking water all over the floor, and both the manager and owner were very helpful. It turned out that they were planning to replace that toilet, and had to accelerate the job and do it during our stay. Fishing in the river was decent. Our biggest surprise was that neighbors were close on three sides of the property, and you had to cross a meadow next to another house to get to the river. Also, use caution when parking - a large tree branch fell down and dented my daughter's car, so try not to park under the dead tree.

House was great for my family and I. The river is right there and the Maury is a great place to soak in the sunshine. Neighbors were super nice. The check in and check out was nice and easy. Kitchen is a little small, but very functional. Overall a great property!

Great stay for W&L graduation

We were in town for Washington & Lee graduation. House is exactly as described. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back when we can enjoy all of the outdoor spaces and activities. Owners are very responsive and easy to work with. We would highly recommend.

Rent this house

Our family loved the layout of the house, the comfort of the beds, the porches and outdoor recreation. The easy drive into town made the location convenient. The house is on a quiet hillside with beautiful views to the Maury River. The days we were there the temperature was into the 90s, so a swim was a perfect afternoon activity. Overall, the place is clean and comfortable with great sofa seating and decks. We also used the canoe and corn hole yard games. We would love to stay there again!

Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed staying at this great cottage by the river during our visit to town for a horse show. It's close to the horse center and a great escape from the show grounds. The home is in a beautiful and quiet area and provided us with a restful space to rest and relax when not showing. We had plenty of room for our small group and pups!
