Bud's Place, Southern Charm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia

The home is nestled between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains with easy access to Interstate 81 and Route 11. Our beautiful, century-old farmhouse is a relaxing place to get away and create special memories with family and friends. Dogs are welcome. We charge an additional $100.00 pet fee. Bud’s Place has all the peace and quiet of the countryside, while also being located close to historic sites, breweries, wineries and much more. Our large deck is perfect for outdoor lovers and the sun porch is a great indoor space to relax and enjoy the view. Guests are welcome to enjoy our outdoor fire pit during their stay. Bud’s place features four bedrooms, three queens and the fourth has a bunk bed with a twin on the top and a double on the bottom. The home has two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The newly renovated kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee pot and much more. There are plenty of towels, wash cloths, dish towels and dish cloths. We provide paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and tissues. Help yourself to one of the many books and there are also games and puzzles along with TVs in the family room, living room and downstairs bedroom. We are only 10 miles from the Lexington Horse Center and 12 miles from VMI and W&L University. Come and stay at Bud's Place and enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine from Rockbridge Vineyards & Brewery and cheese from Mountain View Farm Products.

6 adults, 2 children and a dog stayed comfortably. Homey, we kept saying “it feels like grandmas house. Everything you need and then some is there. Dairy farm down the road, DG Market close by.The whole process was easy and the host responded quickly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Upon arrival there was a lovely bottle of local wine and some yummy crackers on the table, along with some delicious cheese in the fridge from the farm across the road. The house was very clean and welcoming, the kitchen was well stocked with a variety of pots, pans, and bakeware, as well as storage containers, ziploc bags, foil, plastic wrap, small appliances, and even some spices. Our stay was brief, and we didn’t need much, but it’s rare to find so many extras in a vacation rental. There is a lot of family history in this home, and if you pay attention to the details in the home, you can figure some of it out. I love that! The beds were very comfortable, with nice sheets. We didn’t get to enjoy the firepit, but we’re hoping to do so on a future visit, which will definitely be longer!

Spacious but cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Very clean and loved the beautiful views at all hours. Grateful for the 2 dog policy as our sitters fell through- our pups loved the open space to roam and we loved sitting on the porch with everyone! Would definitely stay again!

We were so impressed by our stay! We enjoyed every minute and didn’t miss a thing. The house was clean, the communication with the host was seamless and accommodating and the kitchen had everything we needed! We loved the property for our kids to see the cows and to run and play freely!

The stay was wonderful! The house was extremely comfortable and they had even decorated for Christmas for us. They were very communicative and even provided several things for the baby so we didn’t have to bring a high chair, etc. We would absolutely recommend and plan to visit again!

Great old farmhouse with modern amenities. Kitchen is updated, but farmhouse retains many of its older, historical architectural features Clean house, well maintained property, and comfortable bedrooms.

Amazing weekend stay at beautiful property

This house was so cute and the property/atmosphere was perfect. We all loved it the children could run around with the dogs and the house was super cozy. Will definitely be staying here again when we are in the area
