Esta nueva suite penthouse de 1000 pies cuadrados + se encuentra en el tercer piso del edificio Ouray Alchemist de nueva construcción en el corazón de la ciudad. Los tonos plisados bidireccionales ofrecen la excelente combinación de impresionantes vistas de las montañas circundantes de 360 grados con la cantidad justa de privacidad deseada. Es el refugio romántico perfecto para disfrutar de las numerosas actividades en la aventurera zona de Ouray.

Hay una cubierta de 400 pies cuadrados que le brinda vistas privadas de la mina Chief Ouray, Cascade Falls, el anfiteatro y Twin Peaks. Very nice place right on Main Street. Private garage was nice. The bed was very comfortable. Nancy was a great hostess very walkable to all things in Ouray. Nice places to sit out outside on both sides of the property and the views are outstanding This was our second time staying here.

Property was FABULOUS!!! Great location for all downtown activities…only issue is if you drive a larger truck the garage is inaccessible for parking. Parking on the side street was no problem though. Highly recommend this property for your Ouray trip.

Thank you for writing your review! You are correct in saying that some vertically tall and long vehicles won't fit in the garage. The clearance is 78.5 inches which is 6.54 feet. (No problem with the horizontal because it is a two stall garage so you can park in the middle if it fits). Regardless, the garage is still yours for your stay. A person may unload there because the garage is accessed by the alley, and park very close (about a block's walk) on the residential side street. Parking is still free in Ouray. Most vehicles fit unless they have a huge rack on the top or are exceptionally long. Thank you for bringing this up! Folks may contact me with questions about this through VRBO. I need to remeasure the length of the garage to be sure, but I believe it is approximately 19 feet 9 inches long. I will verify and post this information on our listing. Thanks again!

The property was very nice and the location was perfect with great views is every direction. But the thing that stood out the most to us was the hospitality provided by the hosts. When we arrived, they took the time to show us around and point out various features of the space. It was obvious they wanted to do anything they could to insure our satisfaction. To me, that is the epitome of hospitality!

Nice owners and cute apartment. Plus a garage to store your vehicle. However, I'm expecting at least a decent cooling system if I'm paying over 400 a night. The a/c unit was out of order, so replacement measures were put in place, but they were sub-par to say the least. The bedroom was practically impossible to cool down, so we set up the pull-out bed and slept in the living area just so we could stay a bit cooler. Don't expect to sleep in past 7:00 if you're able to sleep in the heat of the bedroom either. The sun shines through the windows without blinds and directly into your eyes at the crack of dawn. I'll admit, the sights were very pretty, but I like to sleep in at least a little bit when I'm on vacation.

It is unfortunate that the temperatures were higher than normal throughout your entire stay. It was in the high 80s to 90 degrees with lows in the 50s with lots of sunshine. We do have custom-made blinds on all the windows except those upper barrel-shaped windows. They were designed to feature the mountain views and have always been uncovered over the years we have been renting. For folks who want to sleep in at this time of year it can be a problem. I do provide disposable sleep masks. It has been a tumultuous summer here and all throughout Colorado and many other states in the West. We did attempt to achieve better cooling during our busiest and hottest time of the year and we are sorry that it was not optimal for you. It has cooled off substantially since your stay, and the forecast is for highs to stay in the 70s for at least the next ten days which is more typical. Today it is 60 degrees at mid-afternoon! With global warming we are looking at different options for adequate cooling while still keeping the views. The two long lower side windows in the bedroom do open, and there is a ceiling fan over the bed. We have been looking at awnings, mini-split air conditioning/heating, blinds to cover the higher curved windows and air conditioning for casement windows, It is our goal to make improvements to the heating and cooling in the near future, especially by the 2027 summer season. The living room, kitchen and dining room are now being appropriately cooled by a/c. Thank you for your review!

Absolutely fantastic stay in Ouray! Location was perfect, nestled between the mountain range with spectacular views on both decks. Walking distance to the trail system, hot springs, anything you could want, I didn't have to get in the rental car once. Perfect hosting, I could not have asked for a more relaxing, peaceful stay!

The location was great to hiking, kayaking and walking around town. Having a garage to park in was nice . Everything was very clean. The only negative was there are no shades in the master bedroom upper windows. The view is spectacular but If you like or are used to a dark room you will be getting woke up when the sun comes up. It is bright.

Thank you for your review! I provide disposable sleep masks. They are in the bedside tables on both sides of the bed. The windows do face east but the sun has to come up over the Amphitheatre Mountains before it is seen. Sunrise is not seen on the horizon like at sea level. However I certainly do appreciate your input. The windows have blinds on the lower windows which are about six feet tall. We had them custom-made. I will contact the business that provided the blinds for us and see if getting additional blinds for the higher upper curved windows is a possibility. I appreciate your input. Thank you! Nancy

Originally from the Midwest Curt and Nancy took different paths to Colorado before meeting in 2002 at Aspen Drug in Aspen CO. Pursuing his long-term dream of having a historic pharmacy collection exhibit led Curt to purchase fixtures to restore from Aspen Drug which was closing. Since all fixtures were for sale, Nancy having worked there over eleven years, was thrown in the deal...well, not really, but it makes a good story. We share a common passion for the history of pharmacy so it made sense that we would get better acquainted as time went by, marrying in 2006. Still married.

Ouray is called the Little Switzerland of America because of its unique dramatic alpine beauty. Surrounded by mountains it is the gem of the Rockies. We have never been to a more beautiful place. Curt was already living in Ouray when he met Nancy. There are outdoor activities here and nearby for every season. Skiing is close in Telluride and Silverton as well as Purgatory near Durango. Skiing is one of Nancy's passions. Ouray has inspired us to build this building and live out our dream. On the first floor is our commercial business that we call the Ouray Alchemist. Designed after an 1890's pharmacy with hickory hardwood floors and a tin ceiling, we feature antiques, jewelry, art, minerals, collectible currency and candy.
