Our stay at BVG Marina was wonderful. The pool and beach right there and this side of Ixtapa is quiet. Even with the holiday weekend it was not too busy. You can take the van to town for 12 pesos or walk in 15 minutes. Lots of restaurants close by and the people were great.

Thanks for your review. Yes that time of year in Mexico is very got and humid and small bugs are more prevailing. We have the entire unit and the building is fumogated monthly. The building is very modern, new and clean but Mexico is a tropical environment.

Would stay in unit again

Everything was really good. Only minor issues was no one was at property to meet us to show the unit and how everything worked. Not a big deal but never could figure out how to work TV( again not a big deal since we were not here to watch TV) overall unit was really nice, property was beautiful and location great. Also the staff at the BVG Marina were excellent!

Xanadu Found in 1603North

This is our first stay in Andrew and Joanne's 1603North condo and what a gorgeous paradise they have! The unit is immaculately clean with no ants or any pests whatsoever. Their balcony with the 4 loungers have a "to die" for view of the ocean and the entire unit has all the modern conveniences of home. it is so convenient to have the fridge and microwave so we can keep our drinks cold and nuke up left overs for breakfast/lunch. You never have to worry about any ants if you leave any food on the table longer than 5 minutes because there aren't any. The king bed is extremely comfortable with the feather duvet and the pull out sofa is equally comfortable. it was great having a dryer and washer in the unit as well. next time when we return, i would bring our own face cloths as the 2 that were in the unit were badly stained and really worn out. Andrew is a dream to deal with...always so prompt in replying any emails and was kind enough to let us check out late. We want to return during Christmas but unfortunately it is already booked. I know we will definitely be returning to Andrew's "paradise" at the BVG Marina. Thanks ever so much Andrew for sharing your "xanadu" with us.

Excellent Resort with Lovely Views from the Condo

We had an amazing holiday in Ixtapa and Andrew was an excellent host. Any issues that arose were addressed immediately and Andrew's response time to messages was excellent! BVG Marina is a beautiful resort and we would definitely stay there again, but unless Andrew made some changes in the condo, we would not rent his condo again. It was quite expensive and did not live up to its advertisement. Andrew's condo was very well decorated and has a lovely view, but the advertisement of "Luxury and Top of the Line" is dated. We have stayed in numerous VRBO's and in my opinion, this condo is in need of some upgrades. In the bedroom, it is advertised as a pillow top king size mattress, which is true, but the mattress has 2 large body divots and needs to be replaced. The bed was not necessarily uncomfortable, but your body falls into the divot and that's where it stays. This might be fine for a weeks stay, but for our 3 week stay it became very uncomfortable. The bed linens could definitely be replaced as well as they were a bit stained and worn out. All of the furniture, inside and out, could use a really good cleaning as they were quite stained and dirty. We used extra sheets to put on the couch and loungers. The furniture is very nice and quite comfortable, it just needs to be cleaned. In the kitchen, if you like to cook, the pots and pans are very very thin and warped. There are only 2 pots, one very small and one very large. There are plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils, but the cookware could definitely be upgraded. The kitchen could use a slow cooker, but again, that's just my opinion. All in all, we had a great stay at BVG Marina and enjoyed visiting Ixtapa.

Leah, I'm very sorry you felt this way. We in fact had all our art and furnishings purchased from the top designer in Ixtapa, Decore. Most of the condos in our building buy their furniture form Mexicans or cheap big box stores. Also the mattress and the mattress pad as well as the duvet are top of the line and we've never had a single complaint. Perhaps it needs to be rotated. We do get our upholstery and condo deep cleaned twice per year. If you were to stay in any other condo in the building you'd be hard pressed to find nicer furnishings. The kitchen was expanded and renovated and since most guests don't cook on holiday it is barely used. I'm surprised with your comments since there are ample, new kitchen utensils, in fact you can bake a cake if you like. As far as a slow cooker, true we do not provide that and likely won't be. We do provide, a blender, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, mixer as well as many more conveniences. Sorry we couldn't satisfy you on this trip. If you review all my other 35 plus guest reviews they are all 5 star.

Magnificent!

The condo and property did not disappoint! Everything was just as advertised - and better. Andrew and Joanne were wonderful hosts and even stopped by to welcome us. The condo was perfect and the lovely view from the balcony, delightful breezes and beach/pool/restaurant was excellent. We will return!

Bay View Grand Marina

Nice building in a great location with lots of great restaurants near by. Only minor snag was the politics of the lounge chairs around the pool. When we would find chairs without a towel on them they weren’t always available as there is a reservation system we were not aware of. That was a minor inconvenience though.

Impressive!

What a beautiful place to stay. I wish I could have been here for a month but sadly had to leave after a week. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is to die for. Definitelly one of the best places to stay in Ixtapa. This is centrally located to everything. It's a short walk to restaurants. We rented a car and went surfing just up the road. Hosts were gracious and accommodating.

Amazing condo, beautiful grounds...a little too busy at Christmas

Andrew's condo, as usual, is beautiful, quiet, well stocked and has million dollar views of ocean sunsets!! We have stayed in a number of different condos in this complex. They have all been very nice, but this one in particular always takes our breath away. The views out the bedroom window over the golf course and the views off the deck over the ocean never get old!! On a side note, We have come to Ixtapa for 8 years. Unfortunately, it seemed the grounds staff was over worked and much less attentive this time. I attribute it to being overwhelmed with the number of guests over the holidays. Usually this is an amazing place to stay. We will definitely be back...just probably not over the holidays!

Fantastic friendly condo staff for all the resources they provide you, from check-in, to the poolside cocktail servers, spa and concierge service. Amazing condo on amazing location

Staying at this great condo in Ixtapa was a real pleasure. Great views from the room and infinity pool was fabulous. Bed was very comfortable and hot water shower was spot on. Cafe at pool food and beverages including alcohol was very cheap and very good. Just be ready for a weird way to pay for it at the condo. You have to load and purchase a prepayment card for all services there. Massage was excellent and 30 bucks, get several. Gorgeous all round condo. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Stay

I would like to begin by saying I travel Mexico from Canada 4 times a year and stay almost anywhere in the country but mostly in the Riviera Maya area. I truly enjoyed this trip, the area is beautiful and the town of Ixtapa is very well kept and quiet, We stayed in unit 1603N, 1 bedroom with amazing views from the unit. The room itself was very clean and modern everything you needed was there. The hotel was clean with great staff no complaints at all. Great beach good for swimming and walking. When we were there the hotel was about 40% full and 95% were Mexican locals. No problem I love the Mexican people. Good mixture of adults and well behaved children. There is an adults only pool. Beach chairs fill up quickly not sure if they have more for the tourist season in the winter months. Food at the onsite restaurants was very good and price was very reasonable ( I heard the prices are lowered for the summer months). I will definitely return. No complaints at all. Stayed July 22 to 29 adult couple in the late 50's. (very hot 90 degrees daily)

Thank you for the review!. All is accurate except this is not a hotel, it is a private condominium which allows us owners to rent our units when we are not there with certain restrictions including minimum number of days and maximum number of people in each unit strictly enforced by the administration HOA. I do not believe the snack bar prices change by season but i could stand corrected. Yes the condo has both Mexican and America / Canadian guests, all of which are a higher quality of people due to the luxury amenities at this modern building. Thanks again for your review!!!! Beautiful vacation home in Ixtapa!

This property is by far one of the nicest in the Ixtapa area. It is very spacious and has two stunning views. It has a nice kitchen which is well-equipped for any cooking you may want to do. The beds are quite comfortable and there are plenty of linens for a family or party of 4. The only thing you need to know to bring is your own toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc). We did not realize this and had to go to the local market to purchase. The pools and beach area are very nice - much cleaner and quieter than the local beaches. There is a restaurant/bar with wait staff that service the pool area. The food was actually quite good! While in the area, we hit many of the Trip Advisor recommendations for dining and were never disappointed. Tostados y Atoles Any, La Terracita, Deborah's, and Emilio's Pizza were all great. I will be dreaming about the coconut ice cream at Any's for a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our day on Ixtapa Island and loved our lunch at Paraiso Escondido. The owner was very nice and the food was delicious. If we ever get the good fortune to return to the Ixtapa area, we will definitely want to stay at BVG Marina again!

A wonderful holiday in Ixtapa

This was our first trip to Ixtapa and we loved it! The condo is lovely, with all the amenities you could wish for! And that view.... absolutely breathtaking! Comfortable bed, lovely linens, a fabulous shower and everything in perfect working condition! The staff at BVG Marina are very helpful and the on-site restaurant was a lovely surprise - great food and low prices and going cashless with the reloadable card makes purchases a breeze! The pools and beach.... Wow! Everything was so clean and well cared for. We loved Ixtapa and Zihau and Andrew's lovely home and hope to be back soon!
