AIRE ACONDICIONADO NATURAL: las paredes de este edificio son muy grandes, por esta razón en los meses más calurosos en verano, la temperatura dentro de la casa permanece fresca

HISTORIA
La estructura se remonta a la década de 1600 y, según las historias transmitidas por generaciones, originalmente era un convento. Con el tiempo se convirtió en un lugar para la selección y el almacenamiento del cultivo de arroz local. Una placa en el frente del edificio da testimonio de esto. De generación en generación adquirió varias transformaciones y durante el siglo pasado, parte de la estructura se convirtió en un molino harinero, evidenciado por la gran y pintoresca rueda de hierro que todavía existe detrás de la casa. Otra parte de la estructura se utilizó como prensa de aceitunas para producir el aceite de oliva virgen extra local.
El apartamento en la planta baja ha sido restaurado manteniendo las características existentes de la prensa de aceitunas que todavía está presente en la actualidad. Dentro del apartamento hay una vieja maquinaria que se usaba para prensar las aceitunas y en el piso cubierto por un panel de vidrio se puede ver el contenedor de terracota para preservar el aceite de oliva recién prensado. También son visibles los arcos de soporte originales de la antigua estructura.

La "maquinaria de piedra" original que se utilizó para prensar las aceitunas se ha colocado en el jardín.

El apartamento tiene 2 dormitorios, un baño y una habitación grande utilizada como sala de estar y comedor.
La propiedad está cómodamente amueblada con muebles antiguos nuevos y restaurados y en sintonía con el aspecto original.
Un área de comedor exterior está disponible a las afueras de la puerta de entrada. También hay un gran jardín para comer y relajarse disfrutando del hermoso paisaje.
El jardín es privado solo para el apartamento G & G MILL
La pequeña corriente que corre cerca hace que la atmósfera sea aún más mágica.
La calefacción se pagará una parte en función del consumo antes de la salida.

Authentic and quaint

Beautiful and relaxing. Everything we needed to cook at home or go out. Restaurant recommendations locally were fabulous. Great Location for day trips into the Tuscan region. Would love to stay here again.

The house and the garden are gorgeous! BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY

Cristina, We, all four of us, greatly enjoyed our stay for a week in your home near Lucca. You and your father were wonderful, warm and helpful. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The bedrooms were lovely and cozy. We particularly liked the garden for eating and reading. The sound of the small stream near the garden was very relaxing. The location was great for easily visiting Lucca , Pisa and the surrounding hill towns. We especially enjoyed your local restaurant, it was some of the best food we had in Italy. It was also nice to have a good supermarket located so close by. All of us wish we could have stayed longer. Next time when we come to Tuscany we will surely try to stay with you again.

Charming home away from home!

This apartment was the highlight of our month in Italy! We spent three wonderful weeks in this charming and unique home. Cristina was a joy to work with from the very beginning of my search to the end of our trip. Her parents, Ansano and Brunetta were helpful and friendly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his visits with Ansano, speaking Italian and learning about the history of the mill and his family. The apartment was clean and well stocked with all the necessities. We enjoyed sitting in the garden with a glass of wine after our day trips to Cinque Tere, Viareggio, Pisa, Lucca, and Florence. A Supermarket and bank with ATM just down the street. Il Gattino Bianco and Irma were two local restaurants with wonderful food. I hope to return soon to G&G Mill, it will be like coming home! Thank you for a wonderful stay. I will tell everyone I know about this special place!

Don't miss this hidden gem

We were 2 couples traveling from the Amalfi coast to Venice and back to Rome. We selected G&G Mill based on it's location to take our daytrips to Cinque Terre, Carrera (for the mable quarry), Pisa, Florence and, of course, spending a whole day in the walled city of Lucca which turned into a real highlight in itself. Food, highway, and restaurants were available in close proximity. Christina was delightful and very helpful. The apartment was spotless and well equipped. It did get a little cool the first couple of days and the heat was not available. Christina however, came down with extra balnkets for the nights and the sunshine took care of the days. The accomodations were truly unique, as the furnishings played a part in the history of the building and the businesses it was involved in. I would not hesitate to recommend G&G Mill to travelers and hope to return again sometime

Lifetime Dream Italian Vacation

My wife and I have dreamed for many years of spending a prolonged vacation in Italy and were pleased and excited to reserve the Old G & G Mill. We fell in love with the property at first sight and could not believe it was actually more attractive and "homey" than the photos indicated. Dealing with Cristina from start to finish was a joy. Upon arrival we were somewhat tired and frankly, got lost. No problem for Cristina who answered our call immediately, drove to our location and escorted us to the apartment where a delicious snack of Italian delicacies awaited. We also enjoyed meeting her parents and will long remember our half-English, half-Italian conversations. Lucca was our "base of operation" for our six (6) weeks stay. The property was clean and well-maintained and its location perfect, proximate enough to Lucca to visit frequently (my wife loved the markets!), and while comfortably quiet in a bucolic setting, very close to all of the major highways in the area, allowing travel throughout central and northern Italy to be convenient and effortless. When we first arrived we were not quite sure what we would do for 6 weeks; after being there for 3 weeks we looked at each other one day and agreed we could stay for a year. Close by are numerous wonderful restaurants, a wide variety of grocery stores and the best gelato (PappaGrappa) we found anywhere in Italy (and we sampled many!). We recommend this property to all and will be sure to be there ourselves if the opportunity arises.

Toller Urlaub, tolle Unterkunft

Wir waren 1,5 Wochen dort. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich sehr nett und sauber. Cristina ist super - egal was ist, sie kümmert sich sofort. Im Ort ist eine Pizzeria, die ist sehr gut, aber die Bedienungen sind nicht immer freundlich. Pizza zum Abholen gibt es auch. Unweit der Unterkunft ist ein Supermarkt. Dort gibt es alles. Für uns wäre auch eine bessere Anbindung mit dem Nahverkehr, zB.nach Lucca wünschenswert gewesen. So muss man tatsächlich alles mit dem Auto fahren. Unterkunft ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, Landschaft ist - wie erwartet - traumhaft. Vllt. nächstes Jahr wieder.... Dankeschön

Ci siamo sentiti come a casa

Abbiamo trascorso 3 notti in questo bellissimo ex mulino ben situato tra verdi colline tra Lucca e Pisa. È stato un bellissimo soggiorno! Il giardino attrezzato ha tutto quello che serve e la piscina ha fatto tutta la differenza per i bambini; la sera abbiamo fatto una bella grigliata e mangiato sotto la quercia. La casa non è un edificio anonimo ma ricco di storia. L’appartamento è curato, in cucina non manca niente, i materassi sono comodissimi, tutto funziona. I muri spessi la tengono fresca, come se ci fosse l’aria condizionata accesa e se non basta ci sono due ventilatori a disposizione. Cristina è una persona piacevolissima, gentile e disponibile; non solo cura la casa ma anche le relazione con simpatiche chiacchierate e consigli su dove e cosa fare senza essere per nulla invadente. Ci siamo sentiti subito benvenuti e come a casa. Ci torneremmo proprio volentieri!

Italian hospitality at its finest

We have only positive things to say about our host Christina and her family. We were welcomed with at nice redwine and snacks. We had a few problems the first day, due to bad weather the day before. Christina immediately "restored". My husband managed to restore the internet and once again another bottle of redwine and a bowl of delicous tomatoes was recieved as thanks from Christina. When we contacted Christina she was very quick to respond and very helpful. "The Mill" is a very nice appartement and the garden is lovely. Perfect location if you want to visit Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, Siena etc. and walking distance to restaurant an butcher. Next to "The Mill" there is a small road, where there is a bit of traffic some times during the day. However we did not take much notice of it. To summarice, I can highly recommend G&G mill.

Ideale Lage, um sowohl schnell in die Städte (Pisa, Florenz) als auch ans Meer zu kommen. Ruhig und ländlich gelegen - idyllischer Garten. Christina, die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und wohnt nur 1 km weg, falls man etwas von ihr benötigt. Im Haus war es angenehm kühl durch die dicken Steinmauern -auch ohne Klimaanlage.

Lovely Stay

Just had a great week in Massa Macinaia. The owner, Cristina, was very friendly and accommodating. We had booked G and G Mill but Cristina gave us a different property at short notice across the street (Le Macine) to lessen the noise of ongoing building works which had overrun in an adjacent house to our original-very thoughtful. Le Macine was ideal for 3 of us with an ample living room and 2 very comfortable double beds guaranteeing a good night’s sleep (3rd single bedroom available but not required). Aircon is a must in the Summer-it is available in the living areas but be advised, it costs extra at the end of the week and is a little expensive-our bill was €80. Cristina was surprised it was so high but we’re English and needed it of an evening to sleep:) Great to have a plunge pool in the garden-makes all the difference. One note of caution-the steps in and out are steep and could be difficult for the less manoeuvrable. Outside the house there is also an ample patio and eating area-shade is always available with a large umbrella. The house is ideally situated. A car is a must but Lucca, Florence, Viareggio and the mountains are all within easy reach. Within walking distance of the house is a bar (breakfast, coffee and Gelatos) and a fantastic, good value restaurant (La Conca) approximately 500 metres up the hill. A medium sized supermarket and others bars/pizzeria are only a 3 minute drive away-would also recommend Pappa Grappa’s and the traditional butcher (latter opposite La Conca). The house itself is on a road that has more traffic than you might expect in a quiet Tuscan village-only a minor observation however. 4 stars overall richly deserved-we didn’t want to leave so that says it all. Cristina and her family are always on hand to help and are determined you have a good time-we certainly did-thank you:)

Dank freundlichen Empfangs und liebenswerter Betreuung vor Ort in dieser so schönen wie funktionstüchtigen Wohnung fehlte es uns an nichts und der immer wieder gereinigte kleine Swimming-Pool ermöglichte eine willkommene Erfrischung an heissen Nachmittagen. We really enjoyed staying in this lovingly renovated apartment.

Christina was an excellent hostess. We got lost in Lucca on the evening of our arrival and she came and met us and had us follow her to the apartment. She took care of any minor issues that we had and gave us good advice regarding sight-seeing. The home, a former olive oil mill, is beautifully appointed and shows remarkable creativity. The furniture and appliances are all first class. Lucca is a great location for day trips to many Tuscan cities and villages. Kris and George, New Hampshire

sympathische Ferienwohnung in italienischem Dorf

Auch während unseres zweiten Urlaubs bei Cristina waren wir wieder sehr zufrieden mit unserer gemütlichen und gut ausgestatteten Ferienwohnung und dem dazugehörigen großartigen Garten! Die alte Mühle wurde mit viel Herzblut zu einer schönen Ferienwohnung umgebaut, in der es an nichts fehlt. Die Küche ist neben den Geräten (Gasherd, Ofen, Spülmaschine) auch großzügig mit Töpfen, Pfannen und Geschirr ausgetattet, die Schlafzimmer praktisch und gemütlich. Durch die dicken Mauern ein kühler Rückzugsort vor der Hitze. Besondere Erwähnung verdient der äußerst großzügige Garten, der liebevoll gestaltet und ebenfalls gut mit Schaukel, Sitzmöbeln, Tisch, Grill und Pool ausgestattet ist und unter dem großen Baum viel Schatten spendet und außerdem großzügig Wiese zum spielen und toben. Ideal auch für Kinder. Man merkt sehr deutlich, dass Cristina das Wohl ihrer Gäste sehr am Herzen liegt. Sie ist sehr freundlich, unkompliziert erreichbar, hilfsbereit, schnell zur Stelle, aber nicht aufdringlich. Die Ferienwohnung ist zudem sehr sauber. Die Lage nahe Lucca und unweit vieler anderer attraktiver Städte (z.B. Pisa, Florenz) sehr praktisch, auch das Meer kann man mit dem Auto rasch erreichen. Außerdem haben wir es sehr genossen, mitten unter Italienern Urlaub zu machen.

Wonderful apartment close to beautiful Lucca

We had a wonderful two weeks at Gina & Gino's Mill. The property was clean, spacious and provided everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect for visiting lots of different areas of Tuscany. The garden was a great bonus in which to relax in the heat of the day. We enjoyed cooking in the apartment as well as visiting a local restaurant, bar and the wonderful ice cream shop Pappa Grappa.We cannot thank Cristina enough for her help after we were involved in an accident, she was the perfect host and we will not hesitate in recommending this property to friends and family, We love Lucca and the surrounding area and I am sure we will return again one day. Thank you so much Cristina, it was lovely to meet and talk with you.You went out of your way to help and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, x Sharon and Ron

Better than we even imagined!

This apartment is among the best values we found during our three weeks in Italy. The apartment and village were even more charming and better furnished than we expected. Cristina and her family were extremely gracious hosts. The location is ideal, close enough to Lucca, Pisa, the beach, the autoestrade, yet in a quiet village offering a unique Italian experience away from other tourists. We also enjoyed the restaurant Gattina Bianca and certainly recommend it. We hope to come back some day. Thank you for such an awesome experience.

Lucca 10 minutes by normal way - not freeway

This is a quiet zone - good for your relax Inside the house you can find also many toys to play for your children. Near the house you can find many shop like:
600 mt. a restourant and pizzeria also take away - 600 mt. a Post Office -600 mt. a butcher shop where you can buy meat, cheese, salumi and many other things for daily need - 500 mt a bar for breakfast an other butcher and a shop like a small supermarket - 650 mt. an Icecream shop -1 km a SUPERMARKET - near the supermarket there are a restourant with good fish - two banks - a pharmacy - a laundry self service also to dry the chothes
My home is at 1 Km. so for anything you need we are at your disposition
In the house you can find also soap for dishwasher and washer machine
