Nestled in the heart of the highly popular Powder House Pass area, this 6-bedroom custom lodge is the perfect getaway for those seeking tranquility and adventure. Centralized in the middle of the Northern Black Hills recreational corridor, you can be enjoying snowmobiling or riding ATV/UTV trails right out your front door! You'll also be just down the road and easy walking distance from the PHP community clubhouse with it's 2 outdoor pools (the larger pool open only in the summer months), game room, and gas fire pit! There's also a gagaball pit great for family fun!

The spacious living room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding forest. Relax in front of the cozy fireplace, or gather around the large dining table to share a meal with loved ones. The fully-equipped kitchen features high-end appliances and ample counter space, making it perfect for preparing meals for your friends and family. The open floor plan makes it great for entertaining with the kitchen, main living, and dining area all coming together seamlessly.

Each of the six bedrooms is uniquely designed to offer a comfortable and memorable experience. The master suite boasts a king-sized bed, with attached bathroom. Three other bedrooms have queen-sized beds, while one of the other bedrooms includes a king sized bed. The 6th bedroom is complete with a king bed and bunk beds with an attach bathroom, perfect for children or friends.

For entertainment, this cabin offers a variety of options. Challenge friends to a game of Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, a sit-down Pong arcade game, a ping pong table, or an infinity game table with hundreds of board games! There's not many cabins in the area with this many games all in one spot! Take a dip in the private hot tub, or gather around on the outdoor deck for some stargazing.

Whether you're in the area for a nice relaxing weekend, or a trip full of adventure, Bear Den will be your new favorite home-away-from-home. We welcome you on your next Black Hills adventure.

The cabin was as expected and had more than enough room for the 3 families we had there. Rooms upstairs are warm and rooms downstairs are cool...so pick rooms accordingly :) The setup of the home was perfect for our "friendsgiving" with lots of space to cook with everyone and play games on the table/island. Basement game room worked well to send the kids for a "break" for the adults. The outdoor pool was essentially an extra large bath tub so the outdoor temp. was too cold for us to utilize. Overall the cabin was great...the cleanliness issue was more so related to bigger items...ceiling fan was covered in stuck on dust and more so stuff that would be part of a "deep clean" ...the general cleanliness was just fine. Would stay again.

Thanks for your feedback! We're very happy to see you enjoyed the property. We did check the showers after this review, and they are working well. There are also 2 sets of washer/dryers in the property and both are used every week, and work well. Thanks again for staying!

Perfect Rental for a Large Family

We enjoyed every part of our stay. There was plenty of room for all 16 people in our family. We loved the pools and hot tub, and the kids loved the arcade games in the house. We highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful Place!

The place was a great location to the community pool and the main road. Tons of room for us to be comfortable and relax on the patio. The infinity game table was a big hit!

Annual family vacation

Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful cabin. Our family comes out to the hills every fall. We love the family time. Each year we pick a different cabin. We’ve loved them all. This year we attended the buffalo round up for the first time. We plan to be back again next year.

We had an issue with a breaker the first day and the manager was very prompt and helpful. The only other issues we had were the coffee pots were quite dirty with scale build-up and the bedrooms did not have blackout shades (we thought they did) so the rooms were very bright by 5:30am. Other than that, we had no issues and loved the space overall.

Very nice house. Great location near Ski Resort and Mt. Rushmore. Hot tub was warm but had very cloudy water. We did not use it because of this. 2 of 3 video game consoles did not work. Rooms were nice and big. Nice subdivision club house.

The home was in great shape and the accommodations were perfect for what we needed. Bedrooms were large and beds comfortable. There was plenty of space in the common areas for dining and social gathering. The decks were also very nice and provided more areas for socializing. We had a small gathering for our wedding on the large deck which provided a scenic view of the area. Overall, we were very satisfied with how everything turned out and would consider coming back in the future. A special thank you to the staff at Black Hills Adventure Lodging for assisting us during our time at the home.

Retirement vacation for papa.

The one thing we had a problem with was you had spiders in the basement. The people that slept in the basement were killing spiders daily. The upstairs bedroom with the bunk beds was a little toasty. Other than that we had an excellent time. You may want to check your refrigerator the freezer door is not aligned with the other door. Would definitely recommend to others.

Have spent time at two other Powder House properties, one Gilded Mtn and two at Terry Peak Chalets. This one was our families favorite. Very close to pool- maybe two minute walk. Pool is really clean. Home is private but not scary secluded private. Also- the main floor has blinds! I hate being in a dark house where the windows are wide open! Honestly- loved this feature. Layout was great, laundry right by the kitchen so I could do a load without going all the way downstairs which was good because we did several loads. Three types of coffee makers. Loved the main floor master, then the kids were upstairs. Tons of dishes—— like maybe setting for 20? If you are having a crew here this location had the best dishes/other cookware setup. Note: the deer Hunter game was not working. Other games worked great and were very fun! This house was really clean and felt fresh. I’m guessing we will try and get this place next fall if still available. Perfect location, fireplace easy to work, huge TV in living room. A really nice wide entryway with hangers and a bench which is really handy and great for bags, coats. For some reason this house just seems less of a hassle and easier to navigate than the others, flow is good. Thanks!

Powder House Pass Beauty

A beautiful vacation home up in PowderHouse Pass. Plenty of room for everyone in our group. Budi the host is great (have rented many houses from her in the past). Decor and finishing touches were lovely, very nice rental option. Couple of things to note. The house is advertised to sleep 18 - but there is only kitchen seating for 10 (4 at the counter and 6 at a relatively smaller kitchen table). There is no pantry in the house, so our group really struggled with finding room to put the food we brought. There are only 3 upper cabinets in the whole kitchen so the island and credenza had to be utilized for food storage. The 2 sets of washer/dryers were nice but I would maybe add shelving to the main floor laundry area for pantry type storage. Our adult daughters (22-21-19) commented that there wasn’t a full length mirror in the house and they thought that would be a nice touch to be able to do an outfit check before heading out for the day (the master does have one, but they didn’t want to walk into their grandparents room to use it). Overall a very nice addition to the rental options out in the Hills. :)

We were not able to start the fireplace, but being warm outside, it was not needed. There were plenty of towels for a large group for the hot tub and all the showers. It was a great place to stay!
