Bringing it back to our roots. This 800 sq/ft home from the 50’s has undergone some serious renovations with you in mind. Located steps from Lake Muskoka, a short drive or canoe trip to the Gravenhurst wharf, and an even shorter drive to town; just the beginning of what this home has to offer. Enjoy walking trails, a near by boat launch with private mooring space, sawdust city brewery, the oar restaurant, Muskoka boat rentals, muskoka wake lessons brought right to the dock, YMCA/Graeme Murray arena, steamship tours, parasailing, local events, and more; All within 3 km of this private end of road cul-de-sac. Enjoy our 2 person infrared sauna and our 6 person hot tub after a long hike, a day on the water, a local triathalon, or a busy day at hockey camp. Request our tent and some toddler bikes for those milestone moments and childhood experiences. We are a 4 season home offering stays year round! Connected to all town services (natural gas, town water and sewer, hydro), and only 2 km away from town, you will not be without the necessaties while still unwinding in a space where you’ll feel unplugged. We had everything we needed and then some! Devon was very helpful, the cabin tiny and perfect. Great location - close to town, great dog walking trail and minutes from cross-country skiing. The cherry on top was the hot tub for apres ski sore muscles. A perfect place for our snow-cation!!

Warm and inviting space made for a quaint getaway in the winter. The location was beautiful and quiet. Great amenities including hot tub and sauna. Our second trip to Sawdust City Haus and we loved every moment of it. Devon is a great host who works hard to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. The hot tub is wonderful and the skating rink was a fun way to spend some time. We can't wait to come back next winter!

Beautiful cozy cottage. We went for a peaceful winter getaway to get some much needed R&R, and this place absolutely delivered. We loved relaxing in the hot tub watching the snow fall. Devon was a great host. She was very communicative and has thought of most everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

My partner and I were looking for a cozy winter weekend and this was absolutely perfect! We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. The exterior is gorgeous and the patio lights are an added cozy touch. The hot tub was very clean and perfectly situated with a nice view of the woods. The interior was very cozy and beautifully decorated. We decided to stay in and cook, and the kitchen was very well-equipped! There is nothing more we could have asked for and wouldn’t change a thing! Devon and Josh were lovely hosts and easy to get in touch with. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

We did a quick weekend trip here and had a really great time! It was a very nice place to stay in and was so nice relaxing in the hot tub while it was cold out. A snowstorm rolled in the morning we were leaving, and Devon even offered us a discounted extra night. We would have taken it, but unfortunately we had to be home that evening. Would recommend this place!

We had an incredible winter getaway here! The cabin was so cute, clean, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment, and the box of dog toys was a nice touch. The hot tub was so lovely! The driveway was ploughed in a very timely manner when it snowed, and they even offered to shovel the back porch again if we needed it.My only callouts are some misleading pictures in the listing. The bed in front of the fireplace is actually a pullout couch that costs 100 extra to use despite there being no hidden fees. There is no Lake access, which is fine for our winter visit but the listing shows pictures of a dock that are labeled as part of the property when they aren't.Overall, Devon was very attentive and made sure our stay was great, and would recommend this cabin as an amazing winter stay!

Thank you so much for your review! While we do offer sleeping for 6, our rates are set for guests up to 4 and additional fees are set for additional guests and/or beds. These are settings that are addressed when booking the reservation. Should your group be less than 4, then the additional bed fee applies. This should be mentioned on the booking platform. As for water access, we do offer water access. That is an accurate advertisement of our space. We are NOT listed as water front and it’s our water access that is photographed and mentioned as down the road. We also send out the booking details ahead of time with our address for those to familiarize themselves with the area. It’s also mentioned in our description as not waterfront but allowing access without the price tag of waterfront. Waterfront properties in Muskoka rent for nearly $1000 per night. We are so glad to hear of your enjoyment regardless, and look forward to welcoming you back at any time. We didn’t get a chance to use all of the amenities on site as we both came down with sickness. However, it was super cozy, there were so many games and movies to keep us entertained while under the weather, and all the comforts of home from music to utensils and wifi. We can’t wait to come back for the full experience!

Weekend getaway stay at Sawdust City Haus

The listing suggested this was a cottage-style rental, but unfortunately it fell short in several areas. There is no water access or view, which was a key expectation. The outdoor fire pit is located in the front yard facing the road, next to a neighboring property that appears to be in poor condition, which took away from the experience.We were also looking forward to the indoor fireplace, but it is not functional. The sauna is an indoor kit that doesn’t seem well-suited for the space, and the hot tub was difficult to use and preset at a temperature that wasn’t very warm.Inside, the home felt quite cluttered, with many personal items and trinkets limiting space for our belongings. Storage was an issue, as closets, drawers, and cupboards were already full. There were also toys in smaller rooms, making it harder to comfortably use the space.Cleanliness could be improved, as there was noticeable dust, and the seating areas were not particularly comfortable for relaxing together as a family.We were really looking forward to this trip, especially since my daughter traveled from Thunder Bay and we came from a distance to spend March Break together. While we made the best of our time, the overall experience was disappointing.

Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify for our future guests the complaints in which have been raised. We are not listed as waterfront. We never have been. We do have water access. It is located down the road. That is where you will have a water view/lake view as listed. Our hot tub is pre set at 104, which is the max setting. We did notice that upon your departure, we had to readjust the temperature. Someone in your group had altered it. We would have been happy to assist you in fixing this. The sauna has been converted to outdoor use and heats up just as well. We enjoy it often and use it to keep our towels warm in winter months. We would have gladly removed the kids toys to make room for your stay if requested. This was never addressed. Our fire pit is located out front in the only area where trees are not overhanging. Being that the road is no exit, there is very little traffic out front and has never been a concern. We unfortunately can’t do anything about the appearance of the neighbouring property. Our cedar trees were damaged from the ice storm last year and due to the season in which you were visiting, there is no greenery that has grown in yet. The fireplace inside is listed as electric, which it is. While we are sorry to see of your disappointment of the property, much of your concern is listed in the description and would have happily been confirmed if requested through inquiry. We hope to treat you during a more suitable season.

Wedding weekend

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the close proximity to the wedding venue Sawdust City. Hot tub and sauna was very enjoyable and they even had a bin of toys for our two dogs to use. Would absolutely stay again.

We really did enjoy our stay at this property. Devon was great in keeping in touch and helping out when needed and even offering to do some extra things for us!! We loved using the hot tub and back deck area to just sit back and enjoy the absolute quiet of being surrounded by nature!! Location was awesome as we were maybe a 5 minute drive from downtown Gravenhurst and it was far enough out of town to enjoy the peace and quite as the road dead ends just past the house (so very little traffic). We also appreciated that they had little extra things for us to use in the house such as dish soap, tin foil and saran wrap, toilet paper (not all places would provide it and we were glad to not have to go out and purchase them for the days we were there). The bed was very comfortable and sleep came easy. there are some trails close by to walk and even just walking down the road is pretty easy with so little traffic. We loved the cozy feeling of the house.
