Premier Yosemite/Foresta home with views of Half Dome and El Cap from all rooms!

Rocky Point Guest House is a family owned and operated home located inside Yosemite National Park in the small community of Foresta. We're located inside the park boundary and entrance gates (meaning that you won't have to wait in line to enter the park each day) 7 miles from the Valley Floor. Our home boasts stunning views of Clouds Rest, Half Dome, and El Capitan from nearly every room in the house. While we have rented our property via another site for nearly 20 years with many returning guests, we are new to VRBO.

This was a wonderful home base for exploring Yosemite. The location was ideal, the house was very comfortable to come back to after a full day out, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Spacious house with an incredible views from all windows, very peaceful and surrounded by nature, generous elevated decking with dining table and small seating area. The last section of gravel drive wasn't a problem for our Ford Expedition but may present a challenge for a small car.The house has a rustic Native American vibe and was well stocked. Really loved our time there, the amazing weather helped. Short drive to the Yosemite Valley, the property is in the NP, we didn't need to pay the park fees due to the shutdown!

This is a beautiful home in the middle of Yosemite National Park. Ther home is clean, beautifully decorated, and has magnificent views. The kitchen is well equipped. The owner is very nice and responded promptly to all email questions. I do not know how it could be better.

The two mile road to the property was a bumpy ride but we loved the feeling of being out in what felt like a remote location despite other homes nearby. The valley view is nice to wake up to and watch the sun set on. It was also very convenient to get to the sights we wanted to visit. We only had one night where the sky was clear and dark, but what a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the decor throughout the house and it was more than well stocked. We felt right at home and were very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your special home with such neat decor with us! It was worth going over our usual budget to stay here!

Fabulous property with gorgeous views!

Beautiful home with gorgeous views. Had everything we needed plus extras to cook meals. Loved the patio and grill! Extra comfy beds. Perfect stay and really made our vacation!

We loved the house and the view. Everything was just as described. Lynda was a perfect host. Answering all questions etc promptly. We would definitely stay there again if in the park. It’s also really great to be staying inside the park.

Great Location, Delightful Views

Everything was easy! Communication w/ owner was great, property was clean & in excellent condition. Rocky Point sits by itself … who knew(!) on a rocky point - a good distance from nearest neighbors, whom you can’t see or hear. The only (welcome) disturbances were the ravin’ Raven who (repeatedly) stopped by begging for food (breakfast, lunch & dinner), & the bobcat hunting gophers & field mice. Just the kind of folks you want to share Foresta/Yosemite with!

Great location to Yosemite Valley

Beautiful setting just minutes from Yosemite Valley. Accommodations were comfortable and relaxing. Very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. Host was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend for visiting Yosemite National Park.

Heavenly!

Beautiful and fully equipped home with stunning views and property. Extremely peaceful and private, with only a 25 minute gorgeous drive to Yosemite Village. Lynda was a gracious host who sincerely cared about our experience. We loved our stay and highly recommend this property.

Beyond expectations!

The drive in to the park was incredible, we were coming in at the beginning of winter so were a bit worried about snow and ice but drove carefully. When we arrived to say we were blown away by the peace and tranquility would be an understatement. The view every day of the dome/valley and hills are incredible! The house is so cosy warm even with -8 degrees outside. The hosts have been nothing but incredible. There was a local power outage for a few hours that we required a bit of help from Hayley and Lynda and they were so attentive and helpful with an issue that wasn’t anything to do with them. Definitely hire a car and not a mustang in winter like we did. Made for a few scary moments. Get a 4 wheel drive truck as if the park put a r1 chain notice up you may still be ok to drive. All in all don’t hesitate on booking this place. The peace is perfect and your just far enough to be away from the hustle of the village for a relax in the evening.

Ideal in every way!!

Ideal house for a family trip to Yosemite!! In the park! Great views and sunsets are unreal. Great communication throughout the process. Well stocked with basics and lacked nothing! Would rent again 1000%!

Truly Incredible

My now-husband and I stayed at Lynda's phenomenal property during our elopement in Yosemite, and words and pictures truly don't do this place justice. The views are breathtakingly beautiful, the place is spacious and clean, and you have everything you could possibly need. The porch space is phenomenal and drinking coffee in the mornings out there while looking out at El Cap and Half Dome was priceless. The house was perfect for our elopement as we had easy access to all of the park, plenty of rooms for us to get ready separately and do a proper "first look", and a perfect kitchen with everything needed by the private chef we hired to cook us a celebratory elopement night dinner. Lynda's place will always hold a special place in our hearts and we can't imagine a more perfect setting for our intimate celebration!

The view is the best in the park. Simply stunning. We used the grill every night. Could spot 5-9 satellites each night. Loved star gazing.

Fabulous Stay

Our stay at Rocky Point was amazing. Beautiful views, perfect night skies, easy access to all parts of Yosemite, and we were all over the park in our time there. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Lynda was so easy to work with, very responsive and accommodating. Would highly recommend a stay here, and I would stay again for sure!

Foresta is a magical place - very close to the valley floor of Yosemite and yet far enough from the crowds to be calm, quiet, and serene. Our property has amazing views of El Cap and Half Dome.
