The Salty Sailor is a waterfront pool home located in a quiet and safe neighborhood on the Matanzas River equipped with two boat launches. Experience our luxury home with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms located only 10 minutes from Old Town, the beach, and popular attractions. Whether you're staying in the upstairs master with a private balcony and a massage chair or in the downstairs master with direct access to the waterfront pool you are going to have the best vacation ever at The Salty Sailor. Pets are allowed with advanced notice. We charge a $100/per pet fee. Failure to notify host will result in $500 cleaning fee.

Location Location Location

Having never been to St Augustine it wasn’t easy selecting a location. This house exceeded our expectation. Location was perfect. Shopping for odds and ends - 5 minutesRestaurants 5-10 minutesOld town - 10 minutesBeach - 10 minutes. The house itself was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Perfect for a crowd/extended family, or for just the 2 of us. Plenty of “toys” for your extracurricular activities. Well thought out. If you are on the fence go for it.

Fantastic place to stay!

We had four women for a girls trip and we loved this place! It was clean, in a great location and the views were amazing! The pool was heated, the beds were comfortable and the massage chair was the icing on the cake! The host was super easy to work with and it made a great trip even better! I would highly recommend this property!

Girls weekend

The Salty Sailor was terrific! There was plenty of space for our group of six. The pool was so relaxing and we loved sitting on the porch watching boats go by. The kitchen was well equipped too. Would definitely stay here again!

Home away from home!

We LOVED everything about this home! The owners are so very thoughtful in the details and it literally felt like home away from. Close enough for a quick drive to the beach, and only $10 a day to park! Super close to everything else we needed… dinner, gas, coffee, a couple of quick trips to Walmart! We will most definitely be back.

Very beautiful home! Felt very comfortable staying here We had a lovely stay! neighborhood was very quiet and the view of the river was lovely highly recommend staying here! Not far from beach or old town definitely will be back to stay again in the future!

Great place to stay and have a relaxing time. We loved waking up in the morning and watching the boats go by on the river. Very quiet neighborhood. The pool was a great feature and the massge chair was a hit! Wonderful space with comfortable furnishings. Quick drive to many activities. Host vey responsive to any questions.

Beautiful home, excellent hosts!

My family (5 adults, 4 children ages 4-9, and 1 dog) spent Father’s Day weekend at this beautiful pool home which overlooks the Matanzas River. The hosts are excellent communicators and their home is clean, spacious, and accommodated all of us comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped for meals to be cooked and a propane grill outdoors adds another option for meal preparation. The highlights for us were the screened-in pool, the oversized master suite with massage chair, and the balcony overlooking the river. The pictures are accurate but do not do this home justice. It’s a lovely, comfortable, and peaceful getaway just a short drive to the historic downtown attractions. Highly recommend!

Clean and spacious home, convenient location!

Loved our stay at The Salty Sailor! The pool was the perfect size for our family to spend time in. Great for young swimmers because of the sun shelf and benches along the inside of the pool. The home it self is spacious and clean. I’ve stayed in many vacation properties and this is one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in. There were labels and directions for everything in house. The host provided a lot of amenities you’d need to feel right at home! Will definitely be back the next time we stay in St. Augustine!

Beautiful Home with a Beautiful View

Our family (two adults, 3 little girls 6 and under, and our dog) stayed at The Salty Sailor during our girls' spring break for four nights. When we arrived, the first thing we noted was the wonderful view of the water right across the street. The home was very clean upon our arrival, and it is tastefully appointed. The large master bedroom upstairs has two king size beds, which allowed our little girls and us to all stay in the same room. We especially liked this because even though the door to the pool had a child safety lock it prevented our girls from getting too adventurous at night. The bathrooms were very nice with large tile showers. We woke up each morning to wonderful sunrises and watched the boats go by (there is a boat landing right down the street). Our girls absolutely loved the pool. It had a shallow end where our two younger girls could play and a deeper end (a little over 5') for our older girl to play in. Even though it was a little cooler that week than we expected (low 70's), the pool was heated which made it very comfortable (just not when you got out). We also took our dog on walks around the neighborhood each day. All of the neighbors were very friendly and even gave us recommendations of things to do in the area. The owners were also very responsive to questions throughout the process. We cannot recommend this home enough! Our girls wanted to stay even longer, and I would not be surprised if we find our way back to this home again in the future.

Make yourself at home in our waterfront pool home located on the Matanzas River a short 10 minute ride from the Historic District. In the 2nd floor master bedroom you will find two king sized beds, a tv, couch, dedicated workstation, a massage chair, private balcony to enjoy your morning espresso, a large bathroom with a double vanity, tiled shower, garden tub and a converted walk-in closet with a crib, nursing chair, Nespresso coffee bar, and mini fridge/freezer. The master bedroom on the 1st floor has a private bathroom with a tiled shower and direct access to the waterfront pool. Watch the sunrise from the queen sized bed. Our 3rd bedroom is located on the 1st floor with two twin sized beds and plenty of closet space. Inside our kitchen you will find a full refridgerator, Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee pot, and a french press along with everything you need to make a meal for your family. Grill on the propane grill out back or flock to one of our favorite local restaurants. You call the shots, it's your vacation :-) Our family room has a 75 inch TV with a sectional couch and two leather chairs. We have plenty of seating inside or outside to enjoy your meals.

***Hurricane Season is June - November, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance in case of weather delays/cancellations. We will not be able to issue refunds for weather related cancellations.***
