Wake up daily to calming wooded views and families of deer while you relax on the enclosed porch and large deck, or cozy up with a plush blanket and enjoy the large double sided, wood burning fireplace. A game room with arcade, air hockey table, and plenty of board games means fun for all ages. Forest Escape also offers a fire pit, fully equipped kitchen, charcoal grill, jumbo jenga, and snow shoes. Bring the whole family, this home sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. Enjoy the jacuzzi tub in the master with a good book. Forest Escape is a moments drive to the downtown area, grocery store, mini golf, and many other activities Door County has to offer, or take a short walk to the local Peach Barn brewery. This is a great home to enjoy with family and friends!

Many outlets in the kitchen didn’t work. One of the outlets in the Queen room down the hallway didn’t work. Maybe all of them should be looked at. The outlet in the first bathroom pulled out from the wall when a hairdryer was unplugged. It’s nice that towels are included, but they are very stained. I think the owners should keep bleach in the laundry room for guests to use. We weren’t home a lot. We spent all day exploring beautiful Door County!

The size of the home was great for our family. However, we encountered a very strong musty/mold smell throughout the house, which unfortunately permeated everything we brought with us. This smell persisted even after we vacated the house and continued to affect items during our subsequent travels.Additionally, we found that the online photos depicted the house as very bright, when in reality, it was quite dark and dingy.

We loved the kitchen and dining room with the wrap around counter and picnic bench which doubled as a food prep/serve area as well as additional meal place settings, possible accommodations for 10 people. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, pots and pans, cooking and eating utensils, and even containers for leftovers. The appliances add to the convenience, though the oven bottom hadn't been cleaned and caused the fire alarm to sound off when we used it.

The place is gorgeous! So much room. The master suite has a jacuzzi tub and walk out deck. The secluded location guarantees quiet and total privacy.

Fire wood and Top sheet of Beds

It would be nice to know if firewood is provided. I know each place is independently owned and some may or may not have wood provided, but that should be easy to publish on the description per place. That way the guest can purchase wood before getting to the house and not have to make another trip. I find it strange that we had to finish making the bed as per the state health department's recommendation. I am not sure what that does except inconvenience the renter. I think it was a nice place and we had a blast. There is plenty of room and we had 4 couples there. We would stay there again.

Forest Escape in December

Our group of 4 couples enjoyed our stay at this house. The 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms served our needs perfectly, although we had to admit that locating 2 bathrooms right next to each other and down the hall away from 3 bedrooms was an unusual arrangement. The kitchen was fully appointed and of good size, although the refrigerator door touched the fireplace hearth when opened. Speaking of the double-sided fireplace (it opened to the living area and the kitchen), it functioned perfectly and afforded our group the coziness we enjoy when staying in Door County. The high-top kitchen table could seat 8; there were two more stools at the kitchen counter. The bedrooms were of good size, with the master bedroom being exceptionally large. We did have a little challenge adjusting heat in the living area; some written instructions would have been helpful. The WIFI worked just fine, although we did not attempt any streaming activities. The house was clean, functional, and just the right size for us.

Sad to say won't be returning

The owners did a great job of painting inside and furnishings. When the six of us entered the home the musty smell hit us immediately. The further into the home down the hall to the bedrooms the smell increased. The carpet in one of the bedrooms was actually damp to your feet. Yes we turned on the air to hopefully take out some humidity.There were some items in need of repair. The entire outside was so full of spider webs and cobwebs, the screen porch had not been swept in sometime much less the cobwebs again. I brought this all to management attention but they had justification for all. Will not be returning.
