It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one-of-a-kind. But thats what Sugarneck is. Established in 1874, It was a town, with a post office, major road from Fayetteville to Durham and visitors stopping at the Cape Fear River to travel in for their Moonshine. Since the 1950's, no one has lived on the property and it has been solely used for parties, family reunions, weddings and getaways.
We are proud to offer Sugarneck for your family or friends to create special memories!

Great place for our big family!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Our large family had great space to celebrate Thanksgiving together. It got very cold during our stay and the heat in the tents struggled to keep up, but we made the best of it. Alicia communicated well and was a wonderful host!

Great Property, Great Service!

Wonderful property. Especially for a gathering with children as there is lots to do on the property. Everything was very clean, and the property management was continually texting me throughout the stay to make sure everything was going well. Would highly recommended staying here!

Amazing!!

This property was a dream come true. My fiancee and I recently got married and we were trying to find a space large enough to accommodate all of our family and friends to stay and hang out pre and post wedding. Between the main cabin and tents we were keep everyone together making for an incredibly special weekend. This was an incredible experience and can’t wait to come back!!

Sugarneck is spectacular!!!

We had a family reunion for a wedding in Apex. The cabin and glamping was spectacular! The kitchen in the main cabin exceeded our expectations: large, fresh, appointed with everything we needed. Plenty of open space to play and explore. And on and on. Our family had so much fun! You will too :)

Excellent venue

Hold a work event. We were all work colleagues hence maximizing private accommodations was paramount. The property offered 10 beds and all independent of each other. Very clean. Main house had good amenities. And plenty of space. A nice secluded location. Very quiet, yet only 10 mins away from downtown Sandford and 35 minutes away from Cary and South Raleigh. Recommended

Beautiful

This home is beautiful. It is one of the most well-equipped and definitively one of the cleanest rentals we have ever enjoyed. The property is extraordinary. There are short hikes to be had in almost every direction. The location is perfect. It is a short drive into Sanford and is easily accessible to Raleigh and the surrounding cities. We had perfect weather during our stay including one day of heavy rains, which kept us inside to enjoy our time together and the serene views in all directions. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning!

Words can’t properly describe how wonderful our stay was at Sugarneck. This was our first Christmas since my Mother’s passing and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate with family. We felt a sense of peace the moment we drove up the driveway. John and Alicia were incredible and even had a decorated Christmas tree for us. I loved cooking in the beautiful kitchen, sleeping in the most comfortable bed, sitting by the wonderful fire pit, and that shower was AMAZING! We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait until our next visit. Thank you! 💕

Beautiful property, lovely cabin, lot's of privacy

We were looking for a quiet cabin trip with privacy for some family bonding, and this property was exactly what we were looking for. The property is also a wedding venue, and so we got to enjoy the different buildings on the land including a great fire pit. The cabin was both cozy and modern, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed including fast internet, comfortable beds, amazing kitchen, etc. The property manager was awesome to work with, and we can't wait to be back!

Wonderful property!

It was very easy to work with the property owners to set up our stay. We loved enjoying time as a family sitting around the fire pit! The dogs were especially happy to romp around the great outdoors!! We can't wait to return!

Perfect family holiday!

Sugarneck was the perfect family getaway. From the beauty of the original cabin that has been updated staying true to its original character to the gorgeous kitchen addition to the fantastic grounds, we cooked, laughed and hiked. Looking forward to visiting again!

If you're looking for a quiet, private place to get away, Sugarneck is it! Don't hesitate to book it. This is a beautiful home on stunning property, everything was perfect and updated Alicia is an amazing hostess and very responsive to questions and requests. Definitely will be returning.

Labor Day weekend getaway!

To say this place was perfect just might be an understatement. The house was just the right size. The kitchen is to die for! The beds were very comfortable and I love the shower!!! The weather was absolutely perfect for sitting outside in any of the multiple areas made for gathering. I can't recommend this place strongly enough. The perfect way to unplug from the stresses of life. Location was great also, we were able to spend a day visiting the local wineries/distilleries all within an hours drive from the cabin. 100% A+++ rating.

What a place!!

I’m not sure I can describe how awesome this place was or how much fun we had! The house was beautiful and very nice and cool inside, as it was HOT outside! The kids ran around and could be as loud as they wanted, had their music going on the Bluetooth speaker that was there. The tree swing got much use and we “elders” taught them what an underdog was. We set up a volleyball/badminton net and had campfires at night. It was such a peaceful week- hope to go back and stay in the future!

Brief getaway

Lovely property! Everything outdoors was well manicured and so peaceful to enjoy from the porches. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, serving ware and flat ware. Might want to bring your own toiletries as there was no shampoo in the bathroom. Would be a great convenience to be able to pre-order meal kits. We hope to return for another get away that is fairly close to home.

Secluded Paradise

This is the perfect spot for a small family wanting to get away from everything or a group if interested in pitching a tent on the beautiful property. The cabin has been upgraded with all the modern conveniences but still has the original charm. Lots of outdoor area to run and play - would be perfect for dogs too! Lovely fire pit and two porches for relaxing in the evenings. Our three year old loved the tree swing. I can see why many love to come here to host weddings or other celebrations. The property is just beautiful and the owner Alicia makes sure you have all the directions and information needed for a wonderful stay. If you get the time, up the road about 5 minutes is an Alpaca Farm (www.priorityfarmllc.com) go check them out - they are so adorable.

Perfect Getaway

I came to Sugarneck for a quiet getaway, and it was perfect! Beautiful property, quiet, clean and communication with the owner was great! My dog loved running around, chasing rabbits and birds. Easy drive to Sanford if you want to pickup takeout, but cooking in the beautiful kitchen or grilling out was a pleasure...as was morning and evening yoga on the covered porch! Went hiking at nearby Raven Rock State Park and San-Lee Park. It was a perfect getaway and would be an amazing place to host an event as well!

Quiet Beautiful Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderfully quiet relaxing weekend at Sugarneck! The cabin is set in a private area away from neighbors and traffic. It has everything you need and wonderful porches to watch the sunset. Raven Rock State Park is nearby - we spent a beautiful day hiking - then into Cameron for antique shopping. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely beautiful cabin and property! Love the way they decorated and they even had a Christmas tree and holiday decor out for our Christmas stay. My family really appreciated the effort and made our Christmas that much more amazing. The property itself is kind of tucked away which gives you a sense of seclusion but is 15 min from shopping and convenience. The best of both worlds really. And lastly, Alicia was very timely with her responses and thorough with directions. She was great at communication which made everything go smoothly. Very grateful for that since I had 3 kids in tow. Thank you!

Peaceful Escape .... with everything you need!

There is a special peace about this property that you feel from the moment you enter the gate. The combination of historic property with all the modern conveniences is spectacular. Should you be interested in hosting some kind of event, the Pavilion is an absolutely wonderful addition to the property. If seclusion, privacy, peace and quiet ...and just getting away from it all is what you are looking for, you have found the right place! And the hosts are simply the best!
