Katherine was very helpful and welcoming. The casita was easy to find and had everything we needed. The view was amazing, especially at night - which you’re not going to experience staying at the local hotels.

The location was as described. Easy to find and had a carport to keep the car in the shade. The pool is absolutely amazing. We had great communication with our host and will definitely stay again.

4 Stars – A Unique Desert Retreat with Incredible Views

We recently stayed at this Casita in the Cave Creek/Carefree area and had a truly memorable experience. This region is one of our favorite vacation spots, and the scenic views from the property did not disappoint—sunrises were stunning, and the patio offered a peaceful place to relax with shade in the afternoon and a nice breeze throughout the day.The Casita is well-suited for two people, with plenty of parking and a cozy layout. While the pool and hot tub are shared, we used them daily and always felt comfortable. Our host, Katherine, was thoughtful and made a clear effort to ensure our privacy, which we really appreciated. We didn’t cook during our stay (there are so many great restaurants nearby), but the Casita is equipped with a BBQ, cooktop, microwave, and a fridge stocked with helpful staples—including a welcome bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch.The property has an eclectic charm, and while the Casita is a bit dated (built in the early '70s), it was clean and functional. That said, a few updates could make the space even more comfortable and inviting.Overall, this is a peaceful and well-located retreat with character, great amenities, and a host who truly cares about her guests. A solid choice for couples looking to unwind in the desert.

Best Little Casita

I cannot say enough good things about this place and Katherine as a host! You can tell that she puts a lot of thought and effort into making this place feel so welcoming and making guests feel at home. I stayed here while I was on a trip for work and it really felt like a nice little escape. The casita is very private and has all the basic amenities you could want! Not to mention the pool and hot-tub are lovely and very well maintained. Thank you Katherine for being such a kind and welcoming host!!

Nice location

The location is great and the casita is very private and well appointed. The patio area was very private and relaxing. However the pool/hot tub being private is a little misleading since it is right outside the hosts home, which for us was a little awkward. WiFi was great in the living room but weak most other places which for work was a little frustrating. The door lock was unpredictable but luckily the neighborhood is safe so we left the patio slider unlocked so we could get in.

perfect for 1st time in arizone

we found the ultimate place for exploring the area. we were able to walk to carefree, and base camp for a couple road trips to Sedona , old Scottsdale and Goldfield ghost town (all worth the drive). Lots of good restaurants in Cave creek. Try Tonto's at the golf course.

Cramped

Need a new mattress, palace to sit down to get dressed or undressed, less clutter, have maintenance check furnace it was extremely loud and ran off and on constantly. Appreciated back patio Britain’s water, washer dryer, The linens were nice. Thanks Darrell Val

Great location

Great location and scenery near our conference. Did not have time to take advantage of the other amenities available onsite. The bed could use a new mattress, it was very squishy and caving in toward the center. Owner is responsive and provided little treats in the casita as well. The property has the potential to become a very popular destination stay with some more updates.

Super friendly…great experience

We stayed in the casita the week we dropped off our son at ASU. We absolutely love the Carefree and Cave Creek area and this was right in the heart on Black Mountain. The views are awesome and the pool was as well! Catherine is very friendly and accommodating!!

Awesome!

We had a wonderful stay at this private casita in the mountains near Carefree. The casita sits at the bottom of a stairway you need to take to get to the pool and hot tub, and it is worth the climb. The view from the back of the house, on the deck, in the pool, anywhere is just amazing . . it's a wonderful place to relax. We were surprised that that there is a constant breeze up by the pool which was very welcome in the heat. The casita is well-appointed, small living room, a desk, small kitchen with a nice sized frig, a bedroom, dining area and a covered patio over-looking the vally. Great places to visit or eat are very close by, The Boulders resort and golf course is literally visible from the house. One note: The pool is wonderful and unlike other pools we have used in AZ this one was much cooler than the air temperature. We think that is due to the fact that this is a deep pool! There is little space to stand and the pool drops down to 10' or so in the middle so be prepared. : ) We will definitely visit again!

Smokers beware

Property is a 10. Host is a 1. We were told we could smoke outside using the ashtrays provided. There was a booklet inside the property that laid this out for us. Just said "use the ashtrays on the patio." There were several ashtrays outside on two different patio areas, one directly by the casita and at least 3 more ashtrays by the pool area. Host is now trying to charge a damage fee for "smoking inside the property" when we never smoked inside a single time. She said "the ashtray outside was never used." Katherine. Have you never cleaned up after yourself when you're the company? We simply disposed of the cigarette butts in your trash can, and then took the trash out, trying to be respectful of the property. But yeah. Charge us an extra $500 because we disposed of the cigarettes we smoked. It's a nice property. Katherine was hardly there at all, we told her we'd spend 90% of the time OUTDOORS by the pool and we did, so all of that smoking we did? OUTDOORS by the pool, you saw us there every time you were home, we were at the pool. By the hot tub. On the patio. Never once inside the Casita, not in the laundry area, not even close. If it smelled like smoke inside when you finally showed up, it's probably because YOU smell like smoke, Katherine.

My friend and I had an incredible stay at this property. Such a cool place! There was so much to see and explore. The property is very private and quiet. The directions and instructions were clear. Katherine was also very kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Long weekend getaway

Was impressed with the setup the moment I stepped on the property. The pool setup is amazing and the multilevel options provide even better views than exist at pool level. Perfect spot for one person or a couple. Walking distance to all things Cave Creek - particularly taking the back way to Buffalo Chip!
