Gorgeous vintage home built in 1915 but recently upgraded with modern amenities. Home has a beautiful lake front view with an old style front porch facing the lake. Very close to local shopping and restaurants. 1 hour from Orlando attractions, Daytona Beach, and Orlando International Airport. Lake Umatilla is a public boat-ramp lake access with excellent bass and bream fishing. 20 minutes from the Ocala National Forest. Home features a large outside gathering area which could be used for parties, weddings, or simply play corn hole games (provided). No pool but 10 minutes away from the Eustis Aquatic Center with a splash park and Olympic size pool right on Lake Eustis. Close to Alexander Springs and Wekiva Falls. Anglers are welcome with convenient charging station near parking area.

Wonderful location!

The Rose was the perfect location for our family reunion in Umatilla. We had ample room to spread out or gather together. We enjoyed sitting around the kitchen counter as we prepared meals and the time spent was incredible.

Highly Recommend

My husband and I were in Umatilla for a family reunion. We were looking for a place that took animals and came across Jim’s BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN house. While we were there we had a small reunion with childhood friends which by our surprise included the wonderful neighbor behind us. By running in to him while walking the dog he told us all about Jim who then l found out knew my dad and worked with my brother years ago, small world! We highly recommend Jim’s home, we felt so relaxed and loved sitting on the porch watching a huge gator swim by-lol. It was very clean and had everything you needed. For you all looking to do the typical touristy things, you are close for a day trip to Daytona, NSB, all the Theme Parks. You’re even a 10 min drive to Mt. Dora. We will definitely be staying here everytime we come to Florida. Thanks again Jim for a lovely stay and popping in to say hi to some fellow Fireman brothers. They enjoyed seeing you! And I have to say you have an awesome neighbor.

Very enjoyable stay

Very welcoming home with so much to offer. It's full of charm, with beautiful views of the lake just across the street. The wrap-around porch, side deck, and fire pit area are wonderful touches that make outdoor time extra special. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the home itself is spacious and thoughtfully laid out for guests. And the master bath shower - what a treat! We absolutely loved it.Would definitely recommend staying here!

Magnificent stay

This house was so cozy! It has such character, very nice. The view out in the porch was a lake! Sitting on the porch watching the water and boats was so relaxing!! Lovely home, relaxing stay

What a gem! The Rose is a wonderful old house, so cozy and charming. It has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are way comfy and that shower!!! I will most definitely miss that shower! The house was very clean and cutely decorated for St Pat's/Easter. K husband loved the little sign welcoming us. The neighborhood was quiet and I felt safe the entire time here. The front porch and outdoor living spaces are fantastic! Hubby even took a nap one afternoon on the porch couch. The sunsets are beautiful from the front porch. I would 100% recommend The Rose and will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Jim!!

Charming home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jim’s property, The Rose in Umatilla, FL! A cosy, clean and comfortable home in a great location for the Rocking Horse equestrian show. Jim has great communication and even mailed a small item my daughter left behind to us! Above and beyond! We’ll be back!

Family Reunion

We held a family reunion dinner for 32 people. The Rose is outstanding! John was very easy to communicate with. The Rose was more than we could have expected. Very very clean. Beautiful furniture and decor. The dining room table seats 10. All 4 beds were very comfortable. The porch was perfect to set up 5 tables. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything to make a meal. Parking is not an issue. Thank you John!

Spacious home with great location.

Home was rented for Christmas holiday by my family. There was more than enough room for everyone. The location made easy to explore Mount Dora, Eustis and Orlando. We really enjoyed having coffee on the porch every moring. Hope to return next year

Family time

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Rose on Lakeside in Mount Dora-Umatilla. The house was spotless, and the view over the lake was breathtaking. We loved spending time on the front patio and side deck, both of which were perfect spots to hang out and make lasting memories. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t love about our stay. The rooms were comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, keeping the entire house cool and pleasant. We can’t wait to come back very soon!"

Beautiful Home

My family stayed in the home for a few days while in Umatilla visiting family. We had 2 adults and 5 kids in our party, 4 of them teenagers. There were plenty of rooms and places for us all to spread out. The home has been beautifully redone. The master bathroom is amazing! The kitchen is also magnificent. The neighborhood was safe and the view of the lake from the front porch was lovely. The coffee shop right down the road was a bonus! We will definitely stay again when we come back to Umatilla.

Nice location and great country feel home

We enjoyed our stay here and brought our boat to fish on Lake Umatilla. Ramp is only 3 minutes away and though fish didn't bite, we had a great time cruising on the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. Host was very quick to respond prior to our arrival and stated he'd be available during our stay but we were having such a great time we didn't reach out until check out to let him know we were leaving. Only possible negative was that back room of the house didn't get A/C enough so it was hot thru the night but later we saw they had a huge fan in the laundry room we could have used if it had been really bad.

Family trip thru Orlando

Would stay here again when needing a place to stay while in Olando. Offered everything we needed for our stay and enjoyed the spacious porch and lake view.
