Cascade Cabin by the Creek

Enjoy a picturesque, quiet log-cabin mountain retreat -- for a romantic weekend or a family getaway.

Leave the city behind and listen to the beautiful sounds of Fountain Creek rushing through the property just 20 feet from your front door. At the base of the the Pikes Peak Mountain range, this charming log-cabin will be your oasis in the mountains.
The space
All you can ask for in a mountain retreat. Accessible main floor living, this home has a stone wood burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen (with all amenities) and dining area, 2 bedrooms (one queen, and 2 twins), a pull out couch, and 1 full bathroom.

Amenities include strong and stable WiFi, Cable-TV with NetFlix, Amazon Prime Movies, Alexa music system and local phone for emergencies.
Guest access
Full access to 2-acre property and creek with 360 degree mountain views including Waldo Canyon and the foothills of Pikes Peak. You'll have access to the entire 2-acre space located in a quiet mountain neighborhood.
Other things to note
Your dogs are welcome, but you must notify host of breed and the number of dogs that will be accompanying your stay (max 2). There will be an additional $25 cleaning fee per dog. We love dogs, but they are not allowed on any furniture, and owners must pick up after their pet.

Cats are not allowed.

Lastly the home has a septic, so please refrain from flushing anything besides toilet paper and normal stuff down the drain. And we’re on city water, so the water is fresh and tastes good.

The cabin was perfect for our family doing our stay! The host was very accommodating, and the cabin had everything we needed! We came for our 2 year olds birthday with my parents and everyone had a great time and enjoyed staying in the cabin! Love the dog fence for my pups and kiddo to play in during the day!

This cabin had everything my family and I needed to have a great getaway in the mountains! Close to lots of trails but peaceful and quiet. We loved having a fire at night. My kids had a blast playing lots of games and my pups were loving the fresh air. Thank you! We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Favorite place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Cascade cabin. It is a perfect location to stay with our dogs, and the scenery is gorgeous. This is our favorite place to stay when we travel to the area.

Quiet weekend getaway

The cabin was absolutley perfect for my wife and I!! It had plenty of room still available if we had brought our children along. The fenced in area was a bonus for our Great Dane, he had plenty of outside area to roam without worry about him wondering off

Nice remote cottage!

The cottage is quite lovely and was very comfortable for 3 adults. The road leading to it was crazy bumpy from runoff but not much can be done about that on a dirt road. Owner communication was fantastic, and very helpful that pictures of signs were sent to help ease locating the cottage. And what a lovely surprise that wine and beer was left for us as well. Will stay again if ever in the area! Thank you!

Great communication and hospitality

The check in process was super clear and easy, to include directions to the VRBO. The host even checked in on everything , via VRBO, the first morning. Everything we needed, plus extras, were available at the VRBO. Great weekend.

Restful Retreat

The cabin was perfect for my son, my two dogs and I. We had lived in the area many years ago and it was wonderful to not only revisit the area, but also to find such a perfect place to stay. The hosts had many extra amenities and we had everything we needed and more. The dogs enjoyed the outside fenced area and the cool mountain air. We will definitely want to stay here again.

Don't mind the neighbors...

A few of the reviews talked about the condition of some of the properties on the way into the rental. Indeed, there were a couple of houses that had a lot of stuff in the yards and driveways - broken down cars, boats, trailers, etc. but the neighborhood was safe and the rest of the houses were all very nice. Saw some deer in the backyard, as well as a mama mouse and her baby in the campground across the creek. Had a bottle of wine waiting for us which was a great welcoming gift! Owner Marc was one of the most responsive owners I've ever dealt with. Would definitely stay here again.

Marc's hideaway

We had a great stay at this very cute and central apartment. While we did have a glitch with the water, it was not the fault of the property owner. We were reimbursed in full the next day. We appreciated that! The stumbling distance to the magic Old Colorado City made this such a fun and memorable trip. Thanks! My sister lives in the area, and will recommend to guests visiting.

Peace and quiet

Marc was ever so helpful! We were celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary at the cabin. Kitxhen is stocked with spices, etc. Most necessary items...and we grilled or cooked our meals. The beds were comfy. We were disappointed that there were no chipmunks. However, we were entertained by ducks in the creek, squirrels, hummingbirds, deer and Magpies.

Very cozy

Everything about the property was great. Beautiful view & nice big yard with a patio, next to the creek. The house was adorable & super cozy. The only complaint would be the neighbor who is a couple properties down. The yard was a diaster, which I can look past, but the road was blocked by a broke down car or camper. Almost everytime we left or came back to the properly we had to drive by on the other neighbors lawn just to get past. I'm not sure why that is ok seeing as how its a public street. with campers or broken down vhicles.

Quaint Cabin

Very Clean! Loved the fireplace, it works amazing! Comfortable bed. Twin beds are very small for adults. How we there is a pull out couch as well. Dog friendly space with fenced yard. Could use some updates. Such as a full sized gas or newer charcoal grill, and a working ice maker. A little disappointed with the location of property, this is not in the woods, it's in a small town neighborhood, the creek is not necessarily safely accessible and barely viewable from the property, backed up to an chain link fence on the other side. Hiway noise is very loud, so not very tranquil if you're relaxing outside the cabin. Very quiet inside however. Lots of deer came to visit. I would definitely stay again, as a short term, quick stay. But wasn't the secluded little, creekside space we were expecting based on the pics on VRBO. There is another VRBO right outside the front door. Fortunately it was not rented that night so we didn't have direct neighbors. Quick response for help getting TV to work, due to an issue not the fault of property owner. ,such as a gas grill, such as a gas gril
