Cliffside house with stunning sea view w/ private pool 10 min walk to the beach!

Our dream retirement home can be your dream vacation home! Have you ever imagined yourself in your own house with an open plan kitchen looking out onto your deck with your private pool? What if that house was literally above the water overlooking a bay where you could eat your breakfast while watching sea turtles or rays? Love the beach? Well it's only a short 10 to 15 min walk to one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in all of Barbados. Sound like paradise? We think so, and until we can retire there you can enjoy it! We were lucky enough to convince the former owner and manager to manage our property for us and David is a super host with a 5 star rating. He'll meet you at the property and ensure you have the perfect Barbados holiday! We love our house and we believe you will too.

The house was the perfect size and location for four adults. We had amazing views from the deck; ate dinner out there almost every night. Dave; our host could not have been any better. He was there if we needed anything even escorted us to house from airport so we wouldn’t get lost. This house is perfect location; quiet area but close enough to everything you want to see. Turtles popping up in front of house every day. Loved it

It is a great location. The house is very functional. It could use some ceiling fans, however, the breeze is almost always blowing and it is comfortable as long as the big doors facing the ocean are open. The pool is wonderful to have, but is not nearly as large as the photo makes it look.IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!(For safety reasons, the property is not suitable for young children.)

We never got tired of the view! Loved waking up to the ocean and coming back each night to unwind listening to the waves. The pool and outdoor shower were definite bonuses. David was a great host, meeting us at the airport and showing around the property, thanks for sharing your slice of paradise.

Love this place!

This place is something special! The view is to die for and you have all day entertainment with the turtles coming up in the cove. Every day we went out, it felt like home to come back to. If I go back to Barbados, I would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely loved our time spent at this cliffside property. The photos don’t do justice to the views that you get at different times of the day. The colors you see on the sky above and sea below are just amazing. And of course, the regular visitors (when the water is calmer) you get, the 2 turtles and a sting ray, just add to the whole experience.The kitchen could do with a bit of TLC (and given the only dining table is the one outside on the deck, I expected it to be clean and in an usable state) but the views you get from there are just amazing.David is considerate, responsive and friendly. We enjoyed our chats with him and all the local knowledge he provided.Would highly recommend this property if you have an access to a car during your stay.

Breathtaking Ocean View!

Very enjoyable stay, the cliff view was amazing. The host David was quick to respond whenever we needed to contact him.Bliss Cottage, is as the name ‘Blissful!It is off the beaten track for entertainment and restaurants so you will need a car/transportation. If you are after peace, quiet, and tranquility it is the perfect place!

Best view!

We were impressed from the beginning. David answered all our questions promptly, met us at the airport and we followed him to the house. It’s located in a quiet area of the island. We rented a car and ventured out everyday but we loved coming back to the house. Very peaceful and relaxing listening to the waves crashing. Highly recommend!!!

Perfect chill spot

This cliff house property sits in a quiet neighborhood. It is exactly as advertised and much better than the pictures could show. It has all the amenities you would need to cook and enjoy a spot away from the crowds and hustle. We really enjoyed sitting in the back sunning, swimming, playing games, and hanging out. It is a bit of a drive to Carlisle bay and some of the busier restaurants. The AC was great for sleeping it off. The property manager was super friendly and attentive to anything we needed. Our whole experience in Barbados will never be forgotten, and we appreciate the chance to share the experience while staying here.

The Perfect Spot

It truly was blissful. The view was UNMATCHED and was even better than the pictures. David and his family helped us as soon as we got to the airport and made us feel at home right away. It was windy but honestly we loved that as it kept you cool. There were no bugs or pests. Truly an 11/10. We will be back.

What a view

This is a house with an amazing view of the ocean. I’m not a morning person but found myself waking up to enjoy the sunrise each morning. The house manager David was very helpful and informative about things to do on island. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise. This is a house I would definitely return to the next time I visit Barbados.

Ocean and sea turtles

The property manager David is fabulous. He is kind and attentive - He picked our daughter up at the airport, brought her to a grocery store and dropped her off at the house - we arrived a day later. We were so thankful for that. He view is second to none - we so enjoyed watching the sea turtles from the deck. The pool was refreshing and well used by us, especially since it was extra warm during our vacation.

Stunning view & great home

This was an absolutely wonderful get away for me and my family. Apart from the house having everything we wanted, the VIEW is something you don't come across very often (if at all!!!)... we had a great time staying there and if i could give a 100 star review, I would. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!! We honestly had such a wonderful time. I have no doubt we'll be staying again in the future :) Huge thanks to David as well who is an expentional host! Super nice guy and always willing to help if needed. Our stay at Bliss was beyond what we expected :)

East Coast Jewel!!

Great house with an unbeatable view of the ocean! We loved how spacious this house was and the enormous deck overlooking the ocean! Had everything we needed and more! We have stayed in Ocean City 4 times and this house has been the best so far. No need to book elsewhere. We rented a car and drove to different beaches on the west coast each day. We loved coming home to the quiet east side, enjoying dinner and wine on the deck each night. David was super helpful making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your rental with us David!

Relaxation by the Crashing Sea

Located in a quiet part of town on the south-eastern coast of the island, this vacation home is only minutes from the airport. This ensures stress-free transit on arrival and departure, though many of the island’s prime sites are a bit of a drive. A rental car is strongly recommended as there are few points of interest within walking distance. The home is very spacious with plenty of room for six. A very liveable and well-equipped indoor space blends seamlessly into a terrific outdoor deck with expansive ocean views. The stunning cliff-top location provides an ideal perch from which to observe the occasional turtle, sting ray, rain squall and departing aircraft, not to speak of the majestic sea pounding the rocks below. We spent hours on the deck soaking in the beauty of it all. The pool was a special highlight for both kids and adults and a welcome place of refuge after a day of exploration. The host, David, was extremely helpful and keen to facilitate an enjoyable and comfortable stay. He was very communicative, while giving us space to enjoy our vacation. As we seek out the quiet feel of local living—well away from the bustle of traffic and tourist resorts—we would absolutely stay here again. A fantastic experience in all respects.

Dave was so helpful and treated us like family .he met us at the airport and showed us where the grocery store was and waited while we got what we needed for the night, then we followed him to the house..He explained everything that we needed to know .The view at the cliff house is amazing and always a cool breeze off the ocean. We saw sea turtles many times in the water. There is no beach assess but tons of beaches in driving distance . The small pool was just what we needed to cool off on a hot day .We were glad we had a car rental because there wasn’t a lot within walking distance but we didn’t want to stay in a busy area.It was always nice and quiet with the exception of some little dogs that would bark some . Dave was more than happy to answer any questions we had and was very kind. He let us stay longer on the last day because our flight didn’t go out until later. We had a great time and we even got to see four monkeys not too far from the back deck area .

Amazing cliff top views

The villa is comfortable, private, has plenty of room for 6 people to stay. The kitchen was appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The view truly is spectacular, overlooking the cliff. Was nice to have our own plunge pool to cool off in. Great location if you are looking for a less busy area to stay in Barbados, yet only a 10 minute drive to the airport, and 30 minutes into Bridgetown. David was an exceptional host, even helping us with finding a place to stay for our first night on the island, due to my booking mistake. A few things kept us from giving this property a 5 star review. It is in the direct route of all planes leaving the island, so air traffic was sometimes busy and very loud. The neighborhood had multiple dogs barking excessively on several of our 10 night stay, which won't be an issue if you leave the windows closed and use the air conditioning. Everything is functional, but the property is tired and in need of updates, particularly the bathrooms and kitchen.

Amazing view cool breeze !

What a place to stay! We had excellent communication from David who not only collected us but also sorted out a car hire for us which was much cheaper than anything we found online. The house has everything g you need for a relaxing self catering holiday,. In addition there were so many extra “touches”!such as binoculars, cool bag chairs for the beach. The location is quiet with very friendly neighbours , you will need a car if you want to explore the island . The WiFi was amazing we didn’t use the tv lounge area we didn’t need it we had a view to die for! Waking up to the sound of the sea and the beautiful sunrise and going to bed after star gazing to the same mesmerising sound relaxed us so much after a busy day exploring Barbados. We hung up the hammock which was fantastic to sway in and read in or just to watch the waves. We walked to fowl beach which was too rough for us to swim in. We Drove to crane beach which was lovely with a less crowded beach next door ginger beach.. we loved Miami Beach and Oistin fish fry.. our favourite snorkel spot was. Speightstown and our best “lazing” beach was Gibbs beach.. the animal flower cave was a ‘MUST swimming inside a cave with views is a memory that will last a life time! Thank you Barbados we have loved you and the friendly locals who are lucky to live here and massive thanks again to David for being so flexible with check in and check out.. I’m writing this on the deck before our flight back to the uk this afternoon feeling sad my two weeks have come to an end :(

We have a rather international family. Mark is from Pennsylvania in the USA. Rebekah is from Trinidad and Tobago and our kids Angela and Johan are from Columbia. We are international school teachers and with a love of traveling. However, no matter how many countries we travel to we always want to return to Barbados where Rebekah's family lives. We've been looking for years to find the ideal house with a pool and an ocean view that we could host on VRBO until we can retire there. We like to think our little vacation/retirement home is amazing, but we spruce it up a bit more every time we come home. We hope you decide to stay at Bliss and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do and have a Blissful vacation!
While you stay you'll will be hosted by our good friend and property manager David Sterling. David is amazing super host with a 5 star rating who has been helping guests have blissful vacations in this house for many years.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Ocean city is on the east coast of Barbados so it is a bit more quiet and has amazing cliffside homes and some of the best and least visited beaches in the country. Our home is only a few minutes from the airport, six roads, and the famous Oistins. Just far enough away to feel like you've got a private island paradise, but only a few minutes from many of Barbados south coast tourist hotspots.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

There are very few properties on the island that literally sit on the cliffs edge. We like to believe our deck has one of the best views on the island. In fact, our running joke was that we didn't buy a home. We bought a view with a house attached to it, because you can easily fix up any home, but you can't fix a view! And since then we've spent a lot of time completely renovating our cozy little vacation home. As it says in the description, we love it and we believe you will too!
