The Arrow Cottage

The Arrow cottage is located in the heart of Bend between the historic downtown and desirable Old Mill district. It is truly the perfect location, just steps from the Columbia river park, walking distance from the amphitheater, 10 Barrel Brewery, Good Life Brewery, Jackson's Corner and Active Culture to name a few. Our complimentary bikes make make it easy for you to zip downtown for your morning coffee or evening happy hour. The Arrow cottage, is a cozy studio located behind the Mill House. It is a favorite in our group of three cottages. The space is full of unique touches like tall barn board walls and a black Smeg refrigerator in the small kitchen that make it feel like a mini modern loft. There is a top of the line king sized bed and a twin lounger futon bed made out of weathered oak pallets. A dual head rain shower and a little private outdoor sitting area our front make it a great space to get away. Please note this unit is a studio and has a portable clothing rack to hang clothes and a dresser, but no closet. We offer Apple TV so that guests can sign into their own streaming services. Unfortunately, we no longer allow pets. Enjoying the outdoors and embracing our community is core to the Bend culture. So we've strived to create amenities that enable you to enjoy the outdoor space here at the cottages. There is a hot tub and charcoal BBQ for you to use during your stay. There are also complimentary bikes located in the boat house out back. Please note the hot tub and bikes are shared by the Mill house. We want to ensure that you have a wonderful time visiting Bend. We are available to you throughout your trip. Please be sure to tell us more about your visit when you request to book so that we can anticipate your needs. Located across the street from the Deschutes River and with trails that lead to McKay Park, The Old Mill and Les Schwab Amphitheater. Please be aware we are sticking to our cancellation policy during Covid and wildfire season. We strongly recommend if you are worried to book travels insurance. Thank you.

Overall an ok stay. We were informed a week or so before our arrival date that our reservation would have to be changed from the arrow cottage to the sparrow cottage. Not a big issue. However, we were given the check-in info for the arrow cottage and when we arrived at 10PM we WENT INTO SOMEONE ELSES STAY because the host had sent us incorrect information. The host gave us the address and key code for SOMEONE ELSE’S VRBO! This could have been a very dangerous situation! Waking into someone else’s stay at 10PM.Host was difficult to get ahold of to get correct check in for the correct check-in information but did eventually send the correct address and correct key code. We were able to get into our correct stay before 11PM. Bed in the middle room was incredibly uncomfortable and springs squeaked loudly with every tiny move. The front room bed frame and shelf above the bed was dusty. The bathroom ceiling is LOW. Anyone over 5’7” cannot comfortably stand in the bathroom.Cleanliness was surface level. When attempting to plug things in there was a lot of dust on cabinets and under furniture. We noticed gnats flying around.Hosts left complimentary alcohol in the fridge which we found to be inappropriate. The host should not assume the people staying are comfortable with alcohol being present. Location is fantastic if you are seeing a show at Hayden Homes Amphitheater, but I would imagine there are better hosts in the same neighborhood.
