Recently renovated and full of charm, this quaint 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment is nestled on a quiet street in Salem, NH. Perfect for up to 4 guests, the home features 2 queen beds. Relax in the cozy living room or cook a meal in the subway-tiled kitchen. Conveniently located just minutes from Rt 28, Canobie Lake Park, Tuscan Village, and MGH, and only 35-40 minutes to Boston and 40 minutes to Salem, MA. Ample on-site parking is available, and pets are welcome for a $100 fee.
The Tuscan Village is just a 2-minute drive away, while nearby Rail Trails and hiking spots provide outdoor adventure. The train station to Boston is only 5 minutes away, and Rt 93 offers easy access to Boston, Manchester, and the mountains. Please note, the 2nd-floor bedrooms may not be ideal for elderly guests or young children.

Washer and Dryer area are shared with one other townhome.
We would like to disclose that there are 2 exterior cameras installed on the outside, street facing, doors. These cameras are in place to provide an additional layer of security for our guests. The cameras record both video and sound, but only in the exterior areas of the property.
The footage from these cameras will only be used for security purposes or in the event of an incident. There are no cameras inside the property.

The host was very patient with me after my apprehension due to experiences with other hosts. During a late-night issue, the hosts were quick to respond and give a solution that not only worked but was a better outcome than we originally had. The property is nice, and fulfills the need of a quick weekend trip (which is why we were there) but could easily fit for anyone else who needs to stay longer with a full kitchen.Driveway was spacious and could fit all unit cars.Overall this is a great spot if you need a place to stay in Salem NH or adjacent!

Location was perfect for an event at Artisian Hotel. It was adequate for our purposes. There are so many small step up and downs thruout the house which is dangerous for falls. Also bathroom was on first floor and very steep windy steps going up to bedrooms…so don’t like that bathroom was on different floor as bedrooms.

I was definitely fooled by the pictures, looked so good online and wasn’t what I expected, rooms were small, had spring beds, kitchen needs an upgrade, bathroom had no racks to hang towels, bathroom sink was clogged, reached out the host in the morning and did not get a response later at night, host offered to send someone the next day but I declined it since I was leaving the next day. Pictures online didn’t show the outside of the house, only a sitting area, house was joint with other apartments so not entirely exclusive. Living room was small, couch smelled awful.

The place was clean and conveniently located. However, there were some changes in the floor heights between rooms (especially a height change between the kitchen and the bathroom) and these changes were not marked. We tripped numerous times until we got used to it. The stairway to the second floor is difficult to navigate. The washer/dryer is actually shared with the adjoining unit, so be sure to keep the door to the laundry locked to keep the unit secured.

So my issues were all the bugs. We had to buy bug spray due to all of the spiders. My husband was bit by something on day 2 and that’s when we got bug spray. Also under amenities the listing says 1.5 bathrooms and 1 bathroom. This is deceiving. I don’t feel you intentionally did this but it is something I was looking at when booking. Also some really dark curtains in the bedroom would be nice as the light was very bright even with the blinds. A latch on attic door would be great as it would open every time front door was opened and closed and the deal about that is the heat it would let into the house. Beds were most comfortable I’ve slept in for awhile.It would also have been nice to know the washer and dryer were communal.Hosts were prompt to get us a fan when we got to rental and it was so hot. When I asked for bug spray, host did try to provide some but it was “off” for personal use and not bug spray for the house. Let me be clear it was very clean and NO roaches, it was just numerous spiders.Also one bedroom had a skylight and no blinds but host was super nice and got blinds installed after our first morning up with sunrise. Also no dishwasher but I don’t think that was advertised any way.

Reasons I would not return

The description and pictures of the property are deceiving. Every room had a large transition in the floor either up or down. We tripped several times till we got used to it. There was no bedding for the pull out couch (pillows, sheets, blankets). There were no washcloths and coffee pot was dirty. The porch that it showed in the advertisement had patio furniture with an umbrella that was off to the side of the house with no umbrella. Also, it did not state the home was between at least three separate rentals. We went back to the home only to sleep each day. It was a family or friends out on the deck furniture I’m assuming they put up there themselves right outside of our door. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels and storage in bedrooms. It was equipped with a hairdryer, iron, air fryer, coffee, pot, toaster, and all cookware plates, cups, etc.. I did send a message immediately to the property owner of I believe with my concerns and they did drop off sheets for the pullout, no blanket or pillows and only 4 wash cloths. There was no detergent in the laundry area so we had to use hand towels for washing after the four were used the first day. They did get back to me immediately with my concern and appreciated me reaching out as they said they had a new cleaning crew and was grateful for the input.

I want to emphasize that we are very transparent about the property's layout, specifically mentioning that it is a two-floor property with bedrooms on the second floor. I appreciate you reaching out and letting me know about the missing items, I'm glad we were able to address it promptly and resolve the issue. We've since changed cleaning services. As for the deck furniture, you specifically requested that it be placed on the deck in front of your door rather than in the yard, as shown in the photos. We simply followed your instructions.

The house was a charming space to spend a week, and a great launching point to check out historical sites and towns around. Loved how peaceful it was and the AC was a major plus!Only downsides are, the floors are uneven (as it is an old structure which has been renovated) and steep winding stairs. Traffic coming back can be a pain depending on time of day, when turning into the street. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay!

The Good: The property is well-located and clean. The kitchen has enough dishes to prep a meal if you wish to do that, though there is no dishwasher. It is also a quiet neighborhood. The Bad: The building is super old. Every single room transition has a one to two inch lip. From the bathroom to the kitchen, the kitchen to the hall, the bedrooms to the stairwell - there is not a single level floor. I stubbed my toes at least 7 times just leaving the bathroom. You will feel like you are falling in the kitchen because the slope of the floor from one end of the room to the other is so significant. The stairs are not all the same height and are very short; I found it easier to crab walk down them. The beds and stairs are very creaky. If you are 6 feet tall or higher, you will duck at every door.The Ugly: The bathroom sink was completely clogged; I used the kitchen sink. There is no toilet paper holder, so you either put it on the sink, the floor, or reach behind you. There's also no place to hang a bath towel. The bedrooms need blackout curtains because the sun shines bright even with the slat blinds closed. And, the worst of it: the unit shares laundry facilities with another unit and the door was left unlocked so someone from the other side walked straight into our unit late at night. When we checked in, there was also a ground floor window left wide open. Suggest you go around and make sure all the doors and windows are locked when you check in, since it's not a guarantee.

The host was very nice, considerate and very quick with communication replies. Definitely plenty of shops near by. This location is a little tight but was very clean. We were moved to a larger unit with no problems from the host. Would definitely rent from this host again! Thxs, 8GodGud!!!
