An A-frame done properly. Mid-century inside, Mt. LeConte out the window, and three Chalet Village clubhouses just minutes down the road. A Frame of Mind is what happens when you take a classic Smoky Mountain A-frame and furnish it like the home of a designer who actually lives in one.

The lines are mid-century: walnut tones, geometric textiles, and considered lighting. While the soul of the house is the original 1970s build—high pitched ceilings and exposed beams—the experience is modern, with full Google Home integration to control your music and mood lighting with your voice.

The View
The cabin features the kind of high-pitched windows that frame a mountain like a painting. Mt. LeConte sits squarely in that frame off the front deck. It's the most photographed peak in the Smokies, and from the front deck of this cabin, you'll understand why.

The Cabin
Three bedrooms, sleeps six comfortably. The living room is the heart of the house: a low sofa, an authentic Eames leather lounger, a Noguchi coffee table, and a fireplace for cold mountain nights. There are three Queen bedrooms: on the main floor a primary, a second Queen on the main level, and a loft bedroom (complete with its own Eames lounging nook) providing space for the rest of the group. Two full baths.

The Arcade and Games The lower level is the rainy-day floor: a full pool table, a stand-up arcade cabinet, and enough seating so nobody is left out. We stocked it with the things our own families wanted on a wet afternoon—board games like Jenga, and a setup for the parents.

The Chalet Village Amenities Guests have exclusive access to three community clubhouses. In summer, the three pools, pickleball, and tennis courts are the secret weapons of this property. In winter, Ober Mountain (skiing, snow tubing) is under ten minutes by car.

Where You Are Chalet Village sits on the mountain above Gatlinburg—close enough to drive to dinner in 9 minutes, quiet enough that you'll forget the Parkway exists. Pigeon Forge and Dollywood are just fifteen minutes away.

About Us We're Nicola & Alexei. We've hosted in the Smokies for fourteen years and have looked after over 651 stays across our small portfolio. A Frame of Mind has been with us since 2020—long enough that we've learned exactly which seat in the living room catches the late-afternoon sun. We answer messages quickly and will send a proper arrival guide once you book.
