4 BR Home in the Heart of Houghton Lake with Game Room across from the BEACH

This 4 Bedroom Home sleeps 14. Huge kitchen and living room. Much of it has been renovated. It features so much for the price that you won't want to leave! 2 Bedrooms have Queen Beds, one has a Full size bed and the Largest is a Bunk Room with 2 sets of twin over Full sized bunk beds AND a futon.
It also has a 50 inch Plasma TV with an old school Nintendo Game! The main floor is open concept with large kitchen complete with just about everything you will need, dining room and living room. Two of the bedrooms and a bath are on the main AND the Laundry Room too. There is a 3 season room set up as a game room with foosball, darts, cornhole bags and others. There is an outside table and chairs with umbrella and a charcoal Weber Grill in the fenced in backyard (even though it is a work in progress). We also feature a huge side lot (all the way to the corner) with parking for 4 and a boat/snowmobile/atv trailer or two:-)
Houghton Lake is a vacation destination and this home will help you enjoy your stay. It is right across the street from Sullivan Park with a playground, sandy beach and of course there are restaurants/bars within walking distance and Dairy Queen is literally across the street and Copper Kettle Distillery right next door!
- NOTE: Linens, towels, and pillows are provided at the property. It is recommended that you bring a few more for an extended stay. :-) Also, please bring your own beach towels, they are not provided.
-NOTE: For safety reasons, please make sure you include the correct amount of people and pets per cabin/house when making the reservation.

Property was aligned to expectations. Service by the rental team is OUTSTANDING in feedback and providing the support. Ammendities were as described and for our group of 8 men who were there to Golf the home and situation was aligned very well. The Check in accomodated our early request to stay one night ahead and we got a great rate for the stay. The Kitchen was open, large and accomodating to support activity. We did cook, use oven microwave, fridge etc All worked (except Ice Maker did not work but no water line.) Bathrooms were tidy and clean and al worked with decent water pressure. Some bedrooms did not have functional windows to open and other did open but screens were not attached allowing bugs and mosquitos in. Our stay and timing aligned to very hot humid weather and unfortunatley this rental does not provide airconditioning. We brought plenty of fans and opened windows that we could.

We enjoyed being across the street from the lake with a Dairy Queen right next door.

The home was clean and welcoming. The kids loved the Dairy Queen and a walk to the park and beach just across the highway made for a nice activity. The kitchen, dining and living room area was a comfortable and spacious gathering place for us and our guests.

Great location

This house worked out great for my group of golf buddies. The location can't be beat. Walking distance to Dairy Queen, the local bar, and a distillery next door. Will definitely book here again for future trips.

Annual Friends Trip

We enjoyed the house. It was very spacious and accomadated our entire group with ease. The location was great. The only issue we had was that there was no A/C in the house. It was not noted in the description and we didn't find out until we got there. There was lots of box fans to put in the open windows and luckily the weather was cool enough that we were just fine. If it happened to be 90 degrees, we would have had a much larger complaint. Overall we had an awesome time and would consider coming back again

Decent place to stay.

Clean, good location, located by Wallgreens, bar and grill is across the street and next to a new distilary, Dairy Queen is across the street as well. Has eight beds and the kitchen was nice but the WiFi didn't work.

GREAT STAY!!!!

We had plenty of room for eight guys and all of our gear. It was a great place to unwind after several rounds of golf in the area. We enjoyed the large living room and kitchen, which accommodated for big meals and plenty of room for playing cards and watching some football. The game room in the back was the icing on the cake! It was also really nice to take a short walk across the street to hit the local bar/restaurant instead of having to drive anywhere at the end of the night! The house was spotless and each of us had our own comfortable bed. The bathrooms were super clean and spacious. Plenty of towels and linens were provided. We were all very happy with our stay and plan to do it again next year for sure. Thank you!

Houghton Lake-Summer House

Overall, this house worded well for our family trip. It is close to a beach with a playground, stores, and restaurants. The space in the house was great. Kids had there own room and game area. Our group had 5 kids between 7-10 years old, and the house did not feel cramped. There was enough room for the grown-ups and kids to spread out. The large dinning room table was great. The TVs worked well and the internet was good-as I had to take a zoom call one evening. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed, as we cooked breakfast and dinner each day. There is a charcoal grill in the backyard we used for burgers one night. Lots of parking spaces. So why a 4 star: There is not air conditioning-but there were lots of fans. The grass in the backyard was not cut-so it limited the use of that area-owner did respond-but did impact the kids ability to play in the back. It is not a quiet area-especially with keeping the windows open at night. Also, a few windows did not have screens on them-and we did not open them to avoid bugs in the house. I feel like this house is in the middle of updates, and once additional improvements are made it is going to be great!

It is across from Dairy Queen

The positives: The place is very spacious, clean on the inside, clearly recently updated. Kitchen is well stocked and bathrooms feel very clean. They provided lots of fans which was nice. Negatives: No A/C, central or window units, which is livable, except that maybe half the windows are openable. Either they don’t have screens, or are painted over. As in literally the glass is painted on and the window is painted shut. Being there in the heat of July and not being able to open enough windows at night to cool off was not pleasant. When we arrived the outside trash was overflowing from the previous renters garbage and the lid not being able to be on at all. Which means by the end of the weekend trash was all over the yard from rodents and the neighbors were making remarks to us as the “renters” we needed to clean it up. It smelled to high heaven and we had to wait to put all our trash out until the garbage was collected on day 3 of our stay. And picking up previous tenants garbage because it was so nasty was also not pleasant and not what I want to be doing given how much we’d paid for this property. Last was it’s advertised with wifi, but it never worked and the Tv is Roku so unless we connected our phones to the tv it didn’t work. Multiple multiple attempts to communicate with the renters went mostly unanswered and the issue was never resolved. Also of note, no lamps or lights in living room, no bedside tables in any bedrooms.

The Smolinski family fell in love with this home as soon as we saw it. The lake is incredible, peaceful and serene especially in the South Side in Prudenville where it is located. We bought this home in 2023 with the goal of having a place that would give guests a place to make memories with their family and friends and hopefully bring a smile to their faces that will last a lifetime.
