Thorn Creek Cottage

Thorn Creek Cottage is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, spacious cottage on 60 acres of private land and one half-mile of spring-fed native trout stream, great for fly fishing. It is also adjoining 528 acres of West Virginia wildlife management area. Enjoy peace and tranquility on this property and the best of nature that West Virginia has to offer. This property is 5 minutes from Thorn Spring Park, also central to many of Pendelton County's attractions, such as Fisher Mountian Golf Club & Resort. Some things to do nearby for guests-

Thorn Spring Park
Public fishing access as well as the private fishing access on the property

There will be a property map on the property as well so you will be able to explore as you wish!

Bike and mountain bike riding are great on this low traffic scenic road!

Fishing poles are not provided on the property so be sure to bring your own if you plan on fishing!

A gas grill and grilling accessories are available on the property, as well as s’mores/hot dog sticks for the fire pit. We do have firewood we ask you use 10 sticks for free before paying a dollar a piece. There is also a newly build gazebo in backyard, bring a Bluetooth speaker for music & drinks by the river!

Great stay

The setting is beautiful. I know from my research about the Thorn Creek restoration project some years ago and wow what a success that was. The cottage was so cleanAnd well stocked with everything you could possibly need or want. Can't wait to come back.

Exceeded Expectations

Everything about the place exceeded any expectations as compared to other properties in similar settings. Comfortable for 2 couples downstairs (2 rooms) plus 4 beds in the loft for kids or young adults.

The stay at Thorn Creek Cottage was incredible when we arrived there were four deer on the property and we love it we walked into the cottage and it was incredible all wood all over and the place was immaculate we walked down to the Gazebo which was brand new and a fire pit was there we used the fire pit every night and the gazebo every day heard of deer on the property it was incredible I just want to say thank you Jordan for our stay it was the most relaxing stay we've ever had at a VRBO and also the most well-equipped VRBO we've ever stayed at we will also come back again in the future the stream running behind your property was amazing with herds of deer every night thanks again

Quiet slice of heaven

Beautiful grounds with easy access to the creek. Quaint, well kept cottage with the comforts and conveniences of home. Remote enough to feel private, but less than 20 minutes to town.

Great home in a fantastic setting!!

We rented for an extended weekend to enjoy the area and have some quiet time. This house and setting were just what we needed. Waking up to the sound of the stream was peaceful. The home was filled with more amenities and toiletries than we were expecting. Would definitely stay and bring more family next time! Thank you, Chris and Leslie

Wonderful Property!

Our stay at the Thorn Creek Cottage was outstanding! We grilled everynight, spent a lot of time outside in the fabulous yard/surrounding area, and hiked in the connected wilderness area. The kitchen has everything needed and the house and furnishings are beautiful. Our host was very gracious with good communication. Enjoyed our stay very much - thank you!

Beautiful quiet setting. The sound of small waterfalls and birds was all we heard. Host had everything you could possibly need or want. The BEST place we've stayed so far. Will be back first chance we get.

Family trip

The property and cottage were extremely clean and well kept, and appear much better in person than in the pics. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice, quiet getaway.

Beautiful

We arrived and everything was clean and perfect. Everything you needed was here! Perfect location for the treasure mountain festival. We also used the fire pit out back which was nice! The baby was able to watch her iPad at night to go to sleep with the internet. My family stayed down the road at a campground but I'm not much of a camper. I would recommend this place again!!It was perfect!!

Perfect Weekend!!!

We had a wonderful time during our weekend stay at Thorn Creek Cottage. Our host Jordan went above and beyond to be sure we had a comfortable stay. Everything we could have needed was provided, and there were so many extras that we were so pleased with! Thank you so much for providing information about local events and restaurants!! Jordan stayed in communication with me throughout the reservation process and stay, and everything went so smoothly. The high quality sheets, towels, cookware were way above expectations and the Cottage was very clean. Pictures do not do justice to this peaceful well appointed place!! We were here to visit my son who is working in the area, and we felt right at home here!! We would definitely stay here again!!
