This beautiful lake front home is located in Hinton Bay on Round Lake. Home boasts a cozy yet spacious layout with full kitchen, four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, living room, family room, large deck, all rooms have blackout shades, family areas have DVD players, cable tv, smart tv's and fireplaces.

On the outside chairs and tables are locked on the deck for taking in the amazing views! There is a dock to tie your boat up (boat lift is in use and not included), dock has a lounge area, bench, and a staircase to enter the lake to swim the crystal clear waters. From the dock or the deck you can view the spacious fire ring. Last but not least the wood burning SAUNA with plenty of space for the family. ATV and snowmobilers will enjoy the abundant parking and direct trail access. This home is in the Northwoods of Wisconsin so it isn't uncommon to have an occasional visit from critters.

Great stay at scooters landing. This is our 3rd year renting, and will be back again in 2026. One of the few places on round that allows for pets, which is an added bonus to a great cabin!

Great Property

Highly Recommend! Cabin was clean and well maintained. Views were great. Area was peaceful. Deck was perfect for morning coffee while looking out at the lake. The kids (ages 1-12) loved swimming off the dock and looking at the rocks on the shore. Lots of fish caught off the dock as well. The cabin worked well for our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids)

Family Vacation

Location of this home is amazing. Right on the beautiful clean lake and close to town. The house is a lot smaller than I thought it was. Any more than four adults would have been very tight. Glad it had a very nice downstairs. It is supplied with all the amenities you need, so you only need to bring food and toiletries Nice woodland interior décor and large deck for enjoying the lake. Great communication with host.

Beautiful Bay View

2nd annual trip to Round Lake. 1st stay at Scooter's Landing. This cabin was perfect for our family get together. Our little pugs loved the decks and we loved the sauna and the awesome views of the bay. I recommend this property to others who enjoy lakeside life and if you have a boat it is so close to the landing. Great owner and we had no issues!

A relaxing lake home.

This home was a perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. The home had everything we needed for a family of 5 to enjoy. The deck allowed a beautiful setting to relax with a cup of coffee and to enjoy the loons on the lake. We would rent this home again due to the beautiful setting and it having everything we needed to enjoy the weekend.

Great location

Great location on the western side of Round Lake, making it a short drive into Hayward. Easy to find and access. We appreciated all of the hooks in the bedrooms to hang ski clothes to dry. Nice setup with a seating area on the main level that is open to the dining/kitchen area and a really nice living room, bar and smart TV in the lower level. Someone groomed a 2 mile ski trail around the bay, which was a nice surprise and fun little ski. Kitchen was well stocked and lots of towels provided. Our 4 year old loved the nice selection of toys and books. We will definitely stay here again!

Tranquil Lakeside Setting

This home offers a beautiful lakeside setting, where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or the setting sunset to the gentle sound of the waves and the loons. The home offered plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and two living areas for a family. The kitchen had everything we needed to create food and coffee. The kayak was a nice addition which my niece enjoyed using. We would enjoy renting this home again as it offered plenty of space and the commodities for an extended family.

Beautiful home

This is a great location and very clean. Round lake is a beautiful body of water and relatively close to Hayward. Home has a beautiful view and deck. Make sure to read the listing well, somethings I missed were that no toiletries were provided, you can’t use the wood that is on-site, no air conditioning, and driveway is very challenging if you have a boat trailer. Definitely not deal breakers, just had to work a little harder, while on vacation.

Thanks so much for your review! We appreciate you letting us know where we can improve. Due to past issues and abuse we do not provide fire wood. We do provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and hand soap. Unfortunately toiletries such as shampoo and body wash, etc... are not provided, local government restricts multi-use toiletries. We will look into single use toiletries for the future. Air conditioning is set to be installed for the summer of 2024, we're very excited to have it for next year! Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again!

Smaller than expected

We had originally planned for 8 adults but due to illness ended up with only 6. It is the perfect size for 6. Eight people would have been cramped. The check in process is cumbersome and would be better with a door combination. Questions to host were responded to fairly quickly. Boat dock was in excellent shape and water is crystal clear

Round Lake

Picture shows open boat lift.....However when we arrived there was a pontoon in the lift. We had very little dock space for our boat....If you pull in the driveway with a boat it's almost impossible to get out! Cabin sleeps 8 but barely accommodates 6 in the living areas. It was a struggle to fit 6 people at the main table. Great location, great deck, great cabin, great view.....

While the driveway can be tricky, we've managed to back our 30 foot trailer, and multiple guest boats without issue. There is a pontoon on the lift- which is a pontoon lift so it does not work for any other kind of boat. This was discussed upon booking as there was expressed interest in the possibility of renting the pontoon (we do not provide pontoon rental at this time). The pontoon lift is not listed in the amenities provided. Our dock is approximately 15ft long with tie offs (we've had guests with 30ft pontoons tie off without issue). We find that most of our guests prefer the seating outdoors on the deck that overlooks the beautiful lake. Our upper level living room contains a full couch and two accent chairs, it is an open floor plan so it is easy to converse from the dining area that seats four, and the bar that seats 3, to the living room space that seats up to 6 We hope this clears up any confusion. We appreciate the feedback and hope everyone enjoys Scooter's Landing just as much as we do.

Great place!

Perfect spot for our family of 5 and a dog! You can’t beat round lake, and Hinton Bay is a top notch bay as well. The house is perfectly set up, with ample parking and a good sized garage as well. The sauna was an added treat! Plenty of great amenities (lily pad, kayaks, bags, fire pit, etc). We look forward to renting again next year. Only drawbacks were 1) No A/C: even with all the windows opened and plenty of fans, the cabin got hot (80+ degrees even at sundown). 2) with a pontoon boat parked already in the lift, it made it impossible for us to park our rented 24’ pontoon without fear of hitting the owners engine. We resorted to beaching the pontoon at night and tying to a tree, which isn’t ideal.

Family Vac-Round Lake

The house was very nice and comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked. We enjoyed use of the paddle board, Lilly pad, and kayaks. We had problem/delay with communication with the host as far as check in, and the sauna (which we ended up not using). We requested an early check in when reserving, and on check in day. Got a response back the cleaners had it ready for us. When we arrived there was a tree across the driveway. Which we removed...no one had been there for several days. Not a big deal, but just the same. Our only complaint is the smell of the well water. I have lived on well and septic for over 30 years at several locations. I have never had water smell like rotten eggs. There is a filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink. But showering etc. is smelly. Very nice house, but it needs a water system.

Summer getaway

Scooters landing is great! This is our 2nd year renting, and will be back again in 2025! Round lake is the best, Hinton Bay is great, and the layout of the cabin is perfect for our family of 5 and dog!! A few positive changes from our stay in 23’ to note. 1) the addition of A/C was great! 2) the expansion on the dock made for docking our rented boat at night a breeze! One thing that did change from the time is reservation to the time of stay was not having access to tubes or a lily pad. Last year, our kids loved playing on the lily pad everyday and were looking forward to doing it again. Somewhere between booking our reservation and staying on property, the lily pad option went away and wasn’t disclosed to us. No biggie, it should would have been nice to get a heads up and we could have brought a lily pad and also brought tubes for tubing. We resorted to buying both from the local Walmart once we got on property and realized the change (change was due to prior renters misusing both the tubes and lily pads). Communication with owner was great, and we look forward to coming back again next year.

Nice time away

We had a great time. We stayed with our extended family (adult children and spouses) for about 4 days. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The lake was very nice. Overall a good time. A couple of things to note: 1. NO air conditioning. We had super hot weather and it was very uncomfortable. Especially the first day. When we arrived it was at least 90 degrees in the cabin. There were many fans provided so we opened windows and started those to get a cross breeze. It all ended up ok but we were hot. 2. Bring your own firewood. We didn’t know this so we used the wood by the sauna. On our last night we got a note that the neighbors had reported us to the owners for using sauna firewood. Had we known, we would have easily brought wood. I am also skeptical that the neighbors reported us. The cabin has LOTS of outdoor cameras. I’m guessing we were spied on the whole weekend. That was a bit disconcerting. 3. It is very steep to get to the dock. This would not be a good cabin for the elderly or for a family with little kids. We have an 11 year old and he was fine but the yard is so small and sloped we struggled to play yard games etc. There is no beach so you have to swim off the end of the dock. We were fine with our older kids but I would have been bummed had we had younger children.

Thank you for your review. When arriving to the property there is a welcome binder that lists house rules, amenities, etc.. All rules are also listed in the lease provided upon booking. There are cardboard signs on each side of the firewood stating that it was for sauna use only. We do have two outdoor cameras on property, one points to the garage and one to the boat stored on the property, the cameras are for security and are not in anyway intended observe guests at any time. The property facing the lake does have a staircase to the dock which is shown in many of the pictures in the listing. We've had may elderly visitors and have small children ourselves, we would never suggest any child be left near water unattended regardless of age. There is not a beach on site, there is a swimming dock as listed. We would recommend our future guests make sure to read the listing thoroughly and to make sure to review the house rules listed on the lease and in the welcome binder provided. We want all our guests to enjoy their time at Scooter's Landing!
