We prioritize a good night's sleep, quality linens, good local coffee, a well stocked kitchen, a super clean home and a beautiful location. Pippin Cottage feels off the beaten path, and it's only a few minutes from Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure beach. It's a happy home and we miss it when we can't be there, but are glad to share it with our guests! It’s a 45 minute drive to Asheville, Biltmore Estate, under 2 hours to Charlotte, less than 45 minutes to AVL airport, and even closer to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hendersonville wineries and cidery/ apple orchards!

Relaxing getaway

We loved our stay here! We wanted to unplug and be in nature and have a great view and this gave us all those things. Definitely would stay here again!

What a gem

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. The kitchen was well stocked and operational. Since we love cooking, it was just perfect. Very cozy and comfortable.

Exactly What You'd Want in a Cottage

Exactly what we wanted... peaceful clean cottage with great views... close to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure... well stocked kitchen/bath plus extras for a fun stay... loft area a great bonus... pictures and previous reviews all accurate... We will definitely be back!

Wonderful view and great location

We had a lovely stay at the Pippin cottage. The location was exactly what we needed close to chimney rock, and lake lure. The view from the deck was amazing. The house was lovely and had all we needed and especially enjoyed the sunroom too. Another plus was the road access as we did not have a 4 wheel drive.

Lovely and peaceful cottage!

Thoroughly enjoyed our fall vacation. The cottage was very clean and we had no problems during our stay. The view is beautiful and we spent each morning and evening looking at the changing colors of the trees. Very quiet neighborhood and many restaurants close by. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic and relaxing getaway

This cottage was nestled up on the mountain above Lake Lure. My family really enjoyed the peace and quiet, ease to get into town and overall experience at Lake Lure. We had minimal conversation with the host since they were so well prepared. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a getaway and having peace and quiet away from the resorts or other busier areas.

Great stay during the 4th of July

We had a wonderful stay at Pippin Cottage, and found that the location is absolutely ideal! We climbed Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park, explored the town of Chimney Rock. We had fun at Lake Lure at the beach and watched some great fireworks, and rented a boat to explore the lake. Our favorite part was exploring the Flowering Ridge which is right at the bottom of the mountain very close to the cottage. The cottage itself is very cozy and our family of 5 were very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Amazing view

This was the perfect end of summer vacation for my family! The property was exceptional, well kept and clean. Not only was the cabin in close proximity to everything we wanted to do but it also had an amazing view straight to Chimney Rock. Great place to hang out in the patio and enjoy the evening or mornings. The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed, more than we expected! Easy communication with the property managers. A must stay when in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock!

Delightful retreat

We had an incredible time at Pippen Cottage! Not only is the area beautiful with so much to do, the cottage itself is delightful. Comfortable, bright, and clean, stocked with everything we needed. It was so perfect that most days we lounged in the cottage until after lunchtime. The hosts were responsive and accomodating. I've already sent this link to several friends who I know would enjoy it! Don't hesitate to stay here. Our family loved it.

Restful Beauty

Four of my family stayed for 3 nights over the Labor Day Weekend. Every morning we met on the deck to have coffee, enjoy the view of Chimney Rock and listen to birds and wildlife greet the day. Very close to Chimney Rock shops and restaurants , it was a little too crowded for shopping on Labor Day for us . We found good places to eat and enjoyed the atmosphere. Beds slept well and kitchen was well stocked and bathrooms had plenty of towels. My husband and I would to go back to rest and relaxed again sometime. Highly recommend Pippen Cottage.

Pictures do this place no justice! ( so cliche' but SO true!)

If you made it this far JUST BOOK IT ALREADY! Where do I start ?! the drive to get to pippin cottage was so picturesque, winding tree-lined roads, going through small towns that back up to rivers and creeks. along the way there are antique shops, wineries and roadside mom and pop stands selling jams, homemade salsas and jellies. The towns you drive through really give you a small town feel. there are a few hiking spots VERY close, one is actually walking distance and its a very nice hike you can walk to that passes a few outdoor climbing locations. Chimney rock was very nice and the hikes there ranged from easy to strenuous.Well worth the $17 admission price. Pippins cottage is BEAUTIFUL! As you approach the cottage its nestled in between and surrounded by trees and well kept shrubbery. the first thing I noticed was how incredibly clean and inviting it was, there's a skylight and a huge bank of windows that let in an abundance of light and give you a clear view of the mountains . the kitchen and main bathroom look to be brand new and spotless, we stayed for a week and so we cooked quite a few meals and noticed that the kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you need to cook even an elaborate meal. there are even spices! there was also an abundance of board games we were able to play on those rainy days.

We are a Chicago family whose youngest child attends college near Asheville, which is how we stumbled upon the WNC mountains and fell in love with the Hickory Nut Gorge. As a couple of empty nesters, we enjoy some amateur rock climbing and moderately challenging hikes. In 2021, we toured much of the U.S. using vacation rentals and enjoyed all the unique houses we visited. Our home always has endless pots of tea, meals, and guests over to enjoy them with us, so hosting seemed like the perfect way to share our mountain getaway that we love with others!

As soon as you turn onto Garden Ln, the aroma of the mountain air changes a bit, densely green, and each house in the neighborhood reveals its own unique character. It's very peaceful, and as a residential area, the neighbors taking their morning walks are kind, courteous and we all know one another. There are stunning views of Rumbling Bald Mountain's cliffs along the road and taking a walk is one of my favorite ways to start the morning. We love how near it is to Lake Lure Flowering Bridge and Chimney Rock Village.

Nestled on a ridge, Garden Ln feels far from it all while being deceivingly close to all the fun that Chimney Rock Village and Lake Lure have to offer. We fell in love with the unusual architecture of the cottage, how it is tucked into the forest and feels so private, yet we aren't isolated.
