Drop your keys on Boddington the Butler's tray (!), and head to the deck to unwind in comfort while you enjoy the view of pretty South Harbor Marina, ( managed by Safe Harbor, you may contact them for information on slip rental, and help with trailer storage).

The beaches of Oak Island are just a short drive over the ICW. (3.2 miles to Oak Island Pier). Par 3 Golf is available less than a mile away, and Oak Island Golf is just 3 miles, by Caswell Beach.

There are many area restaurants, but the condo is located next door to the very highly rated restaurant, Joseph's Italian Bistro. Rusty Hooks Dockside Grill is a 2 minute stroll, with sunset views from their expanded deck and Tiki Bar.
A 6 mile drive takes you to historic downtown Southport, where you can amble through the many Boutiques & Antique Shops, Southport Market, Bakeries, Craft Beer and Wine Bars. Visit the Maritime Museum, or lounge in a swing chair on the lawn while watching the Cape Fear River boat traffic. Take a sunset cruise...highly recommended, and maybe a Ghost Tour in Southport!
If you are a thrill seeker, you might be tempted to try a skydive experience, which is available 5 minutes away. Rental options for boats, bikes and kayaks are also nearby.
The condo is conveniently located between Oak Island and Southport, tucked away from hustle and bustle.

Gemma (Gem) of a Place

A quick nod and thank you to Gemma...what a hostess with the mostest. Our 3rd visit to this condo...literally 15 steps to one of the great Italian restaurants, (Joseph’s) at the marina. A view overlooking the marina is your backyard from the condo...spectacular. When you do book Joseph’s, ask for Marquis. He’s been there for close to 20 years and will make you feel like family.

Gemma was a great host. Perfect hospitality. The wife and I needed a little getaway and this condo was perfect. Not too far from anything. All the local restaurants were delicious and the atmosphere was just what we needed.

The accommodations are very comfortable, immaculately clean and well-supplied; the view of the marina gorgeous; and the proximity to Caswell Beach, Southport, and so many fun places to explore very convenient. We loved walking on the beach every morning and returning to drink coffee and soak up the views from the chairs on the back porch. Gemma supplies many nice “extra touches” (from snacks to a de-humidifier, to cozy blankets and beach reads) and is a responsive communicator. Great host! Of important note to some travelers: when the description and other reviews mention being “near a restaurant” it might be helpful to know the condo shares a deck and internal wall with this active, popular restaurant. If you are early to bed like us (before 10/10:30pm), the loud activity on the other side of the bedroom wall—Happy Birthday celebrations, laughter, restaurant clean-up, and then parking lot conversations…plus the early-morning restaurant deliveries—is a disruption we didn’t expect.

The lighted area is where the restaurant’s deck area begins—so on busy nights, restaurant guests are sitting very close.

Didn’t want to leave

We had a wonderful time. The host is very kind and responsive. Condo is clean and cozy. Get the tiramisu at Joseph’s next door, and apps and drinks at Rusty Hook. The highlight was getting to watch July 4 fireworks from the marina without having to fight crowds or traffic. Hope to come back soon!

Back Porch Breezes FTW!!

We had a delightful stay and the host was very thoughtful! We spent a lot of time on the back porch enjoying the lovely breeze coming off the water. So peaceful and relaxing. The condo was clean and there were two restaurants within an easy stroll. Both with water views! Will definitely stay here again if our travels take us to Southport.

Absolutely perfect for the two of us. Loved being on the Marina. Loved the nautical motif . Emma provided everything we needed for a great stay!! Would absolutely stay there again!One draw back for us. Not a real biggie, but trying to find parking was not easy after day at the beach .

We didn't have long to stay, but we wanted to see the two lighthouses on my list. We picked the right place and time. There were not too many people around despite being at a full marina and the weather had not turned hot so we sat on the deck with the birds. We had few stairs to negotiate with bags, boxes and suitcases. There were plenty of places to eat our one big meal about midafternoon and they had great seafood. I will certainly tell others.The Jollys

Amazing stay. The room was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The only bad thing was the ice maker was messed up but that is hardly a reason to take off a star. We will be coming back.

Wonderful, Private Place

Cleanest VRBO we have ever rented. We loved the location right on the marina and so close to Oak Island and Southport. Kitchen was well appointed and the host was super proactive and professional. We will definitely stay there again.

Stay at the Marina without a Boat!

It was so welcoming, clean, cozy, and the pictures were accurate. The host was responsive, generous and ready to please. The restaurant next door could have been vdidn't ery rowdy, but the food is so good, the customers really have a chance to get too loud too often. Taste their food and you'll see why! Highly recommended by the locals. Loved the view of the Marina. I felt safe, slept great, was very comfortable. Next time I hope to come with the boat if I get one!

Tranquil Weekend Get Away

Second time renting this little oasis. Every detail is thought of here and we made a great choice to return. You can’t beat a weekend for 2 sitting on the marina and watching the boats, water and birds. Little walk to the Rusty Hooks for fantastic drinks and eats. Joseph’s was a great anniversary dinner next door. Starting and ending the day on the marina is a treat!
