THINK TWICE before renting this property. Communication with the host was great, however there were many issues with my stay. I’ve used VRBO for years and never had an experience like this. My host let me know that the cleaner would still be there at check in (4pm). At 5:45 she was still there. The host allowed a late checkout on Monday so all ok. The pool was extremely dirty so let them know. The wife had someone come the next morning. There was a leak in the toilet later in the week and I had my friend fix it. On check out day there were no instructions and I asked the host what needed to be done. He said I didn’t have to “lift a finger”. I did a load of towels and stripped the beds, just to help out. They both sent me appreciative texts. Fast forward to Thursday night. The host asked where his toaster was. Fortunately I had taken pictures and sent him a picture of the kitchen, which showed the toaster. He then said there was another toaster, which I never saw. He then said that other things “could be missing”. So accused me of theft. It should be noted most of the closets and cabinets were locked, they had a car in the garage and a full fridge of food. I think they live there and only rent sporadically. They were also monitoring the home with a camera and sent a text Friday noting 3 more people arrived. I had swapped out one brother & wife for another brother & wife and didn’t know to tell them since same # of people. Would not rent again.
