Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall very good. Afew minor problems the most serious was the discovery of 2 wasp nests. All issues were corrected within a few hours. The pool could have had a little heat.

Great House for the Money

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a week at First Wife's House. As the other reviews stated, it could use some renovations and deep cleaning, but for what we paid, it was great. The beds aren't all that comfy, but usable. The master shower leaks terribly and the screen on the back porch is nearly impossible to shut properly. However, we enjoyed our stay. Great location!

The property was super clean on arrival, not even any spider webs hanging in the outside areas which is plus for me! Loved that there was a extra bathroom downstairs for extra privacy for those who wanted it. The only con I could see is the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything that goes on in every other room. I would absolutely stay again!

Reviewer Comments: The property allowed pets, but furniture was dirty, mattresses were old and not comfortable, shower leaked and we had to clean up water every time we took a shower,some things needed cleaned and It had a oder, do not know why they would have carpet in it when accepting pets. Would not stay here again.

Beach week 2024

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was cute. Smaller than I expected. The master shower was tiny and new mattresses are needed in a couple of bedroom, as well as a full size fridge in the man cave downstairs. The house was advertised as having bicycles for riding but the 2 bikes chained to poles downstairs were not in working condition and we were not given a key to unlock them. We also did not have access to the room downstairs for the first 24 hours. I was also disappointed with the proximity of the house to actual beach access. I also feel that the house was overpriced after having stayed there. Although we had a nice beach week I would not rent this particular house again.

Great Beachside Value!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a bit apprehensive to book this home because there are some unflattering reviews, but we went for it and we had a great time! We are a family of five with kids 8, 10 and 13 with two dogs. It was the perfect fit for us; easy walk/bike ride to the beach a few blocks away, quiet neighborhood safe for the kids to play, house is a perfect layout and tons of space under the house for all the gear. The location is excellent to restaurants, groceries and stores.Could the house use a few updates? Yes, but you can't reserve the least expensive place in town and expect perfection. We spent most of our time out and about, but we found it extremely comfortable and it had everything we needed.A couple things I'd like to point out to others considering renting here... it is dog friendly, but there are little burrs in the grasses that got stuck in their paws and then they would track them back into the house where we would step on them. They really hurt and we might board the dogs at home next year. It was all around in the grasses--not just at this house. Secondly, you really need to bring everything to this house--ALL linens (including kitchen towels), spices/salt and pepper. There is a Dollar Store nearby so you can grab stuff, but it's nice to know when packing. Bring a basketball if you plan to play in driveway. There were boogie boards and a couple beach chairs for our use which was great. We brought a beach buggy for our gear and it was a must unless you plan to drive everywhere.The closest beach was great! Wide and the kids swam and skim boarded all day. Cool restaurant named Goombay's a quick walk as well.We would recommend this house and we would stay there again.

The Good and The Bad

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The BadArrived to check in and was told property was ready. Arrived at house to find no cleaning done and all used bedding and towels still there. Waited for cleaning to be done. Main bedroom shower leaked badly all over the floor. Toilet was blocked and ready to overflow. Waited for that to be taken care of. Grass was higher than the knees and called 4 times about it. Told the work order was issued and assigned but never taken care of. Had to "find" the deck chairs and then scrub them because they were crummy in the outside shower.The GoodLocation was nice. View from decks beautiful. House was stocked with anything you may need for the kitchen. Plenty of plates and appliances.

great escape from pennsylvania's winter

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: we had as good a time as in summer. Plenty to see and do and no crowds, could actually drive around on a Saturday!Liked it so much we plan on coming every march!!

My Happy Place

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 2 weeks here for our anniversary, Oct/Nov. The property was exactly as described, and clean & well-maintained. It's not super-modern, but so comfortable. I cannot say enough about Beach Realty's courteous service. From the rooftop deck you can see the ocean, & the Wright Bros. Memorial to the west. We found a nearby beach access path & spent some time beach-combing. There are lots of good eateries nearby. (Capt. Georges for our anniversary.) We drove all up & down Hwy. 12. You must see the lighthouses! It was a great vacation for this country couple--we have already recommended this place to our friends.

First Wife's Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our vacation was very good. I think that in the description you have that you are one block from the beach. That is very misleading because you have to walk at least 4 or 5 blocks to get to a public access. Everything else is private. The layout of this house was very nice but it needs some TLC. Towel racks and toilet paper holders fell right off and there wasn't any vacuum cleaner to help with the cleanup. The hockey table is a nice touch but needs new paddles. The view from the top deck was beautiful. We will be back to Outer Banks but don't think I would rent this place again.

First Wife's was a verycomfortable place to stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After paying for this rental, I read the reviews further and seen where others were voicing that the beach access was very far away, So we became concerned that we might be inconvenienced. But after getting there and seeing the property our worries were unfounded. It's only about two blocks to the side and one block up to the beach access, which worked out fine for us as we like walking with our dogs in a relaxed easy pace. The place was nice and clean, had all the cooking utensils you need, and the air conditioning was very good (we had to turn it down). There were 2 small issues and we let the realty co. know, and they were very attentive to the situation. The deck was very nice, my wife and our dogs sat out there often. We like the quietness here as there is a yard and some room from the neighbors enough to not be disturbed. This is a place is a good value, and a comfortable and clean rental.

40th Anniversary trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, very pleased. The carpet was worn, with pet stains, some large. The furniture was comfortable. The location was central to most everywhere we wanted to go. Office personnel were very friendly & answered any questions we had. We had one minor maintenance issue, & that was corrected the same day.Very good experience.
