Thank you for the feedback, it is always greatly appreciated. We purposefully keep the cottage in original New England cottage format, as we find that is what most of our guests are looking for. It sounds like if left mostly closed up, as you noted it was during the day, the air can get stagnant but temperate via the HVAC. When opened up and the breeze from the lake comes through, it seems to work well. As noted, we do not use the property ourselves, as we have another house on the lake, but the well water has been tested by the State of NH lab and is well within limits for drinking water. We leave some bottled water, as some do not like using well water. We do also send our guests the info on the website to check for cyanobacteria notices from the State of NH, as part of our welcome note as that is a ongoing issue with lakes in the northern US, enabling guests to learn about it and watch for it, if a notice is posted.

Hi Michelle, Thank you for the feedback! With all the rain, including during your stay, and the time of year, the cottage might need more than the usual airing out and heating up. We have not had anyone else report an issue, but most rentals are during warmer times, when folks can enjoy the breeze off the lake rolling through. We will increase our efforts to air it out between guests, and turn the heat up a bit more in advance of folks arriving this time of year.

Thank you for the terrific feedback. We found a YouTube trick to easily get rid of pine sap (Hand Sanitizer) and were able to get that off the items on the porch. We also left a large bottle in case it is needed by renters. We are also making the beach / dock at our other cottage on the lake available during this time, to reduce the chances of folks not being able to go in the lake, if desired. Today (8/13), we were at the lake and it seemed clear and was being used extensivly by lake residents.
