Built for a romantic getaway for two. Plenty of room for the whole family, too.
The Space:
A single-level log cabin. It's a getaway for two that can sleep six. The walls are wood-paneled, the tall windows look out on aspen and evergreen, and an L-shaped leather sectional faces the electric fireplace. The fireplace puts out real heat, not just a glow.
🛏️ The primary bedroom has a new soft king mattress, a towel warmer with two robes, and a door straight onto the deck.
🧑🍳 The full kitchen has an espresso maker, drip coffee maker, French press, Aeropress and Instant Pot. The table seats 6, and there are 4 stools at the island.
🎶 Victrola record player with a stack of records.
📺 Roku TVs in the living room and both bedrooms.
💻 370 Mbps Starlink and a dedicated workspace.
🧺 Washer and dryer, plus a pack 'n play, high chair and baby gate for little ones.
Sleeping Layout:
🛏️ Primary bedroom: 1 king bed (private deck access)
🪜 Bunk room: 1 queen (bottom bunk), 1 twin (top bunk), 1 twin trundle
Pack 'n play available for infants
Sleeps 6 max. One bathroom (shower/tub combo).
Outdoor Living:
The hot tub is why people come back. It seats six, runs 101 to 104 degrees, and sits under open sky, so the stars are right overhead after dark.
🛁 Hot and ready when you arrive
🍽️ Deck dining table for 6, electric grill, Adirondack chairs and bistro lights
🦌 Moose, deer and elk wander through, usually early morning or dusk
🌲 About a third of an acre of trees and meadow, with Silver Creek along the back
🐾 Room for dogs to sniff around (unfenced, so keep them close)
🌙 Very little light pollution. Clear nights get properly dark.
Nearby Adventure:
Moose Landing sits in the St. Mary's neighborhood, up Fall River Road about 25 minutes above Idaho Springs. At 10,000 ft, you start at the edge of the high country.
🥾 5 min: St. Mary's trailhead (about a mile round trip to St. Mary's Lake, paid parking)
🚘 55 min: Echo Lake and the Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway, North America's highest paved road (summit road needs a reservation)
🎿 50 min: Loveland Ski Area and Echo Mountain
❄️ 1 hr 15 min: Winter Park
🏰 25 min: Argo Mill & Tunnel gold mine tour
🛶 25 min: Clear Creek whitewater rafting, Class II-V (May-August)
🚂 35 min: Georgetown Loop Railroad (seasonal)
⛰️ 1 hr: Guanella Pass scenic drive
⛰️ 10,000 ft elevation. Some guests get mild headaches or fatigue the first day. Drink extra water and take it easy.
🛣️ The last 400 yards are dirt and gravel with 4 switchbacks. AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended September through May. Snow can fall in any of those months.
📱 Cell service fades as you climb the mountain. Download directions before you leave Idaho Springs, then get on the WiFi (370 Mbps Starlink) when you arrive.
🏡 Not fully secluded. The cabin sits close to the road, and you'll see a neighbor from the front of the house and the deck.
🚿 One bathroom (shower/tub combo) for up to 6 guests. Plan morning showers accordingly.
🐾 The yard and deck aren't fenced or gated. Max 2 dogs, up to 75 lbs each, with an $89 pet fee.
🔥 No fires. Clear Creek County bans fire pits, propane grills and open flames at short-term rentals. The deck grill is electric.
🐻 Bears are active. Keep food and trash inside, never in your car or on the deck.
🌡️ No A/C. There are ceiling fans and portable fans, and nights stay cool at this elevation.
🪨 A stony path with a few steps leads from the driveway to the front door, so it isn't wheelchair accessible. The steps from the primary bedroom's deck down to the yard get slick when icy.
📹 Exterior cameras: a video doorbell and a driveway camera. None face the hot tub or the inside of the cabin.
🏔️ St. Mary's Glacier's summer snowfield fully melted in 2026 for the first time on record. The lake and trail are still there, and winter snow returns each season.
