Salty Paws is located in the Villages of Ocean Hill Community. This community is famous for its wide beaches and proximity to the 4x4 beach where the wild horses roam. The community offers both oceanfront and sound front pools that are open Memorial Day through Labor Day, a beachside snack bar, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball courts, shuffleboard, state-of-the-art fitness center (with Fee)), children's playground and even a stocked pond for fishing (catch and release). If you need a break from the salt and sand you can walk or ride your bike along the Corolla Bike Path to the nearby Currituck Banks Reserve walking trails, Corolla Adventure Park, Currituck Lighthouse, Maritime Museum, Currituck Club, and many shops and restaurants.

This modern, seven (7) bedroom, Corolla home has too many updates to list! Salty Paws offers a well appointed kitchen, plenty of seating for dining and entertaining, large bedrooms, and spacious living areas for all to gather. The open concept of the mid-level is the perfect backdrop for large families creating lifelong memories. The attention to detail is hard to ignore. The outdoor space of this home is set up for entertaining with a private fenced-in yard and an oversized (19x37) pool (heated for a fee in May, September, and October to extend the swimming season) and hot tub. An adjacent cabana has its own refrigerator and covered seating to keep the refreshments close, cold, and convenient to the action. Grab a lounge chair to watch the kids swim or just bask in the sun. There is a propane grill provided for dinners by the sea!

Lots of room for a large family!

Our family of 17 plus two dogs spent a week at Salty Paws and it was wonderful. The dining table is HUGE and allowed us all to eat together. Plenty of room to accommodate our sleeping arrangements. The pool and hot tub were both clean and well maintained throughout the week. A short walk to the beach which was never too crowded. This house is ideal for a large group.

Some furniture broken vacuum not functioning house not cleaned well. Probably left that way by previous renters. No real cleaning performed. Beds not all made sheets available but beds not made. No extra pillow cases for extra pillows. Pool vendor came to shock pool but did not address any of the people at the house to acknowledge.

We enjoyed the week and had very good weather, mostly sunny days. Had issues with hot tub and pool heat being turned off and the realty company did not seem to want to believe we had an issue. Fortunately Tuesday afternoon the owners came over and fixed our problem almost immediately and even brought a new grill. They were extremely helpful and kind. We got to enjoy the pool and hot tub from Wednesday on without any problems.

I will start off by saying this property had everything we needed! The pool and hot tub were wonderful, and our family spent many many hours visiting on the front porch. We loved the rocking chairs, and were nestled in a great quiet spot! The only drawback, is that there was a very strong odor in the home. It wasn't noticeable on the top level, but more prominent on the first floor, and then very heavy on the bottom floor. It was a dog friendly home, so I assume it was from wet dogs, but we had to purchase glade air fresheners and place them throughout for the week. The appliances are a bit dated. The dryer broke during our visit, but the rental team was prompt to come and fix it. The dishwasher wouldn't open the soap dispenser, so we would have to open after the first rinse cycle to add soap to insure dishes were clean. The oven temperature was also off, and cooked way over expected. Hopefully an appliance update will be done soon. The cleaning crew could have done a more thorough job turning this home over. Trash was found and the hardwood floors were VERY dirty. Overall though, we had a wonderful vacation and can't wait to be back in OBX!

We had six small grandchildren who would rather swim in the pool than go to the beach. We really appreciated the beautiful gated pool and the refrigerator outdoors. Good place to ride bikes which were included. Quiet street. We enjoyed the lighthouse and jeep ride to see the horses. Beach was beautiful with lifeguard. The house was clean and spacious. We loved the big table which seated fourteen. I want to thank the owner for allowing us to rent the perfect house for our vacation.

When we first arrived (and all throughout our stay) the house had a horrible must smell. Not sure if we were the first rental of the year but it's apparent that the owners know with all of the air fresheners around. It was kind of embarrassing when we had visitors over and they even mentioned it. Needless to say we had to pick up some more air fresheners (my wife put one on top of the vent - don't look in there - might be one of the reasons for the odor) One thing I will comment on is that the owners do actually put some money into the place. They have taken care of the landscaping and put in two new charcoal grills. Lastly, they installed a a fire stick on the tv. Couldn't get it to work. Will most likely be our last stay in this house.

Great location with all the amenities you need

The location was perfect for us as it's only a block away from drive on access to the beach, is a super short walk to the beach with a lifeguard, has a large pool and a hot tub. The kitchen was fully loaded with every appliance, pot, pan and utensil we could have asked for. The beds were comfortable, the décor is fun and beachy and the layout is great. I highly recommend this beach house.

A dream rental for our dream weddings

Starting with the obvious, this house takes great care to not only be dog friendly, but dog inviting. The lost dog tags helped put minds at ease with so many people in and out of the house, and our two small dog friends loved chasing each other around with the treats! We booked this spot to hold the wedding parties for the two family weddings in Corolla that week. It fit everyone great and made planning a breeze. The rooms were amazing, everyone fit comfortably whereever we hung out, and I cannot say enough great things about that massive pool! We loved this spot and would recommend to anyone looking for a great time with friends, family, and dogs just a short walk from the beach.

Wonderful Vacation House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This beach house is all it says it is. My large family (12 people) were extremely happy with this gem. The house was very clean and had everything anyone could want. We had 7 days of perfect weather and left just in time before Tropical Storm Harvey came to visit. The pool itself was enormous and we all had a lot of fun in it. The kitchen was very well appointed with a Keurig coffee pot which made mornings even better! The only thing that would make this house perfect would be a screened-in-porch with a table and chairs. The dining room table (while massive in size) was too wide for us to play games on. The property management company was wonderful to work with. We had some minor problems on our arrival and they bent over backwards to help us, which was more appreciated than anything! My family has been coming to Corolla for 20 years and this is one of my favorite houses yet!

I rent "Salty Paws" as it is on the block of my home and is the best one we have had the experience of using. People from our Mid-West office come for a week of meetings and pleasure and love the experience. So much nicer than conference calls and video conferences.
