Beautiful home… lots of steps.. so it helped burn some of the calories from lots of snacking during bad weather days. Accurate depiction of the steps to the beach, and you could actually see the water from the kitchen and top deck. Comfortable beds and lots of places to entertain while weather is not ideal… which was most of our week. Very responsive when contacted about various items… and friendly.

Large house, plenty of room and had more than enough kitchen wares. Easily assessable to beach. Love the front and back porch swings. Only downside was several of the sliding doors did not lock properly and were without some curtains. Would probably rent again.

Great location. House is as it seems in the pictures. We had 5 kids running around and loved the house, the pool, and the close proximity to the beach.

OSO-3 - SANDZIBAR* Sat-Sat

We had another great OBX vacation! We are return renters of Sanzibar (we rented when it was Lee's Breeze). Love the location of the house to the beach access, and local attractions. the housing addition is fantastic as well, always so well maintained! The only complaint we had was the mattress in the bedroom that has the hot tub on the deck. This mattress is horrible! We remembered it from our last visit but were hopeful it would be changed with new owners. PLEASE replace this mattress!! Not only is it uncomfortable, but is also very noisy. One suggestion is to list on the amenities that the kitchen waste baskets require 30 gallon bags-- for those who prepare and bring that sort of thing with them. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and enjoyed the delicious cookies that were delivered from the owners. :)

Enjoyable Stay

The house was very well stocked, close to the beach access, and we had an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked with needed items - including TWO Deviled Egg serving trays and a CROCKPOT - which we absolutely were excited about. It could use some cosmetic fixes, like the deck/exterior painted, a screen door to the patio was knocked off prior to our arrival and was just left sitting by the door, we didn't know if it needed repair so left if where it was, some of the blinds need to be replaced, and the hot tub is rather inconveniently placed as it left access to the deck from a bedroom blocked; and a few small side table to fit both sides of the beds would have helped. However, the house did not prevent us from enjoying our OBX stay in 2022.

We just returned from spending a lovely week in Corolla with family. There were definitely pros and cons to our stay in Sandzibar. I'll start with the pros: The location was fantastic. It was a very close walk to the beach which made for easy trips back and forth for bathroom breaks and lunch, and of course for carrying all of our gear. The size of the house worked perfectly. There were plenty of bedrooms and we loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom, plus there were additional half baths. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and other cooking essentials. While the fridge in the kitchen wasn't exceptionally roomy, there were several beverage refrigerators, a full size fridge and ice maker on the bottom floor in the game room. The top floor of the house was in nice shape. The kitchen was nice with two dishwashers. The sectional in the living room appeared to be on the newer side and was roomy for our large family. And the master suite was enormous. The pool table on the bottom floor provided hours of nighttime entertainment , and the pool and hot tub were enjoyed daily. Now for the cons: Overall, the house was in need of improvements. The bedrooms on the second floor were extremely small and would have been much better suited to having queen beds in them rather than kings. On many of the beds, the mattress was bigger than the frame which felt very unsupported toward the edges when rolling over during sleep. Many of the vertical blinds in the bedrooms had broken or missing slats, which left us having to try to hang blankets to cover the openings. And the overall cleanliness of the house was not great. There were multiple small area rugs scattered about which were dirty and unappealing and it would have felt much better just to have the nice vinyl plank flooring exposed. The refrigerator water filter was extremely old and dirty—probably never changed. The large return vent for the HVAC off the kitchen was absolutely filthy. The oven needed a good cleaning because every time we opened the oven door, it set off the smoke alarm. The showers curtains in a couple of the bathrooms were covered in mold. The bathroom vanity cabinets and drawers were very dirty and needed to be wiped out. Many of the end tables needed to be wiped off and they had visible "shmootz" on them, for lack of a better term. All of the outdoor furniture was covered in mildew stains and needed a good power washing or bleaching. If updates and a deep clean were performed on this house, we wouldn't hesitate to stay again, but in its current state, we likely will look elsewhere.

The home was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay there very much. A few criticisms…..the beds are horrible! They are so uncomfortable it was difficult to sleep. It would be great if there was a vacuum on each level; would make it a lot easier for cleaning sand off the floors and for check out.

This house was all we were looking for in a beach rental! This was our third family trip to OBX. Now that my five kids are adults, most with a spouse, I was looking for 6 large bedrooms with private baths and a large eating/sitting area. This house was perfect. Each of us had privacy when we needed it and there was lots of room for family time too. Some real bonuses included the very well stocked kitchen including the 2 dishwashers, the bathroom accessible from pool area, 2 outdoor showers, the kegerator, extra fride/freezer space in game room, and the ICE MACHINE! I loved that we did not have to pull out a sofa couch in a common area for any of us, which is what we have had to do in past visits. The close walk to the beach allowed back and forth throughout the day and evening conveniently. The owner of this house takes care in the details and the cake delivery was a much enjoyed surprise on our first day! I would recommend this property to families with adult children or multi-family vacationers. I hope this house is available to my family for future trips!

Perfect for Spring Break

We had a great time at Lee's Breeze for spring break April 2021. The house couldn't have been more perfect for our group of 2 adults and 4 teenagers. There was more than enough space for everyone. The hot tub and pool table were big wins and the kitchen was so well appointed that we stayed in and cooked more than half our meals. There were even steamer pots and crab crackers for our seafood boil. And the beach was only a stones throw away; perfect for everyone. Thank you for a great vacation!

One of the best experiences ever

This house has EVERYTHING! You bring yourself, food, toilet paper, paper towels, large garbage bags and pools towels. They have thought of everything else! The owner is so kind we enjoyed meeting him. If you need anything, the customer service is excellent

Great Stay at Lee's Breeze

House was nice and clean when we arrived. We were just 7 people so there were plenty of towels and bed linens. Tons of extra supplies and handy things like baby gates, laundry baskets, hangars and extra blankets in the closet. Incredible amount of kitchen supplies! Great selection of movies and games for rainy days. So close to the beach, it's perfect. Great location half-way between Harris Teeter and Corolla. Pool and hot tub were clean, great size for a relaxing vacation. Lots of places to gather or spend time alone reading a book. If 2020 hadn't wrecked my confidence in future planning, I would already be booking our next stay.

Great Property

Great location, steps to beach access. The house was perfect for our extended family. We were able to spread out. Pool was a plus after a day at the beach. We enjoyed the close proximity to tennis courts. As described. Cookies delivered from the owner were a hit.

Family vacation

The property was great for our family vacation which included small children and our service dog. It was close to the beach. The pool was great, the water was warm the only thing we wish we would have known was that the pool doesn’t get any sun. Other than that we we very pleased with the property.

Multigenerational Family Vacation perfect Beach house!

This house is the most logically designed, well equipped beach rental we have had, and we have had many. It was clean! It has 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators, ice machine, wine fridge, dog run, multiple decks, plenty of pool and deck furniture…best kitchen tools, dishes and appliances ever! Close to the beach, great pool with plenty of room in sun or shade around it…couldn’t look for any better! Peanut butter pie surprise midweek was over the top! 😊😊😊

Review of Sandzibar/Lee's Breeze

We enjoyed our stay. The location of the home is great. The pool was sandy upon arrival, the slider screens did not operate smoothly, the hot tub was sandy, the office requested photo id's a day and a half before arrival, rather than asking for them in advance. That being said, they responded promptly to requests. A good vacation but not a great value for the cost.

We really enjoy our stay at your property. Thanks for the welcoming package and the cake was really good. The property was clean and well maintained. A lot of space which allow us to do alot of activity inside on the cold days. Great for walking your dog and easy access to the beach. Close to the food stores. The one major thing is the Dish WiFi is horrible, it could not handle several people using at the same time especially if you were watching Netflix ect. I would definitely recommend your home. My family enjoyed the 5 master suites they work well when you have young adult children that like their own space at times. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and communication.

Wonderful visit!

The house was spacious with multiple common areas. Everyone was comfortable and happy, and the close proximity to the beach made sunrise strolls easy. The amenities including multiple TVs, pool table, card table and chess/checkers table allowed for activities for everyone. Would definitely stay here again!

Family vacation 7/17-7/24/2021

House is in a great location, less then a 5 minute walk to the beach. Few things I was disappointed in for the amount of money we paid was the maintenance of the property. The storage bins in the front were a mess, the side yard had dog poop,(assume from previous renters), the pool was full of sand, and sunflower seeds all over, grill was extremely dirty, screen door was completely off and blind pieces were falling off the bedroom by the hot tub. We complained about the pool and screen which was never resolved, also the ice machine door kept falling off. Overall these things did not hinder our family from having a great time. The house is very spacious loved the fact that all the bedrooms have there own bathrooms and are spacious. Just would recommend a little more thorough inspection and cleanup before next families check in. We made sure to leave the grill and grill utensils in much cleaner conditioner then was left for us, and we tidying up the bins in the front the best we could, even though we never used the beach gear. All in all the place is in a prime location. We would like say thank you to the owner for the delicious cake as well. It was our first time to OBX and our family had a great time.

Cozy, but not perfect.

Overall the experience was great. The house could use a deep clean and a little extra TLC on some general maintenance. Beds were lumpy, not all TVs work, some listed features were unavailable, such as outside speaker system and master jet bath. Property management responded quickly to concerns & overall the house suited our needs for the week. It was especially nice to have a covered hot tub!
