Peaceful neighborhood

We were in town to celebrate our son's promotion and enjoyed our stay. Lots of room to move around or sit and talk.

Great Property

We had a great time staying at this property. The property is in a great location, we loved the golf-course and the pond and it was very close to downtown New Bern which has great restaurants and shopping. The owner was very easy to work with and answered all of our questions. The house was very spacious and the screened in porch is a nice addition.

100 BIRTHDAY PARTY

Except for door code malefuction the first night which meant going to a hotel for the first night, everything went well. The house was impressively clean and decorated. And very convenient to the family party. I would recommend it!

Tons of space! Kitchen was well stocked.

We had a great time. The owner was quick to respond anytime I had questions, both before and during our stay. This was my first experience with HomeAway. I would definitely use again. The kitchen had everything we needed. Huge washer and dryer, nice screened in porch. Lots of board games for the kiddos. All the rooms were spacious.

We had a great time. If you’re looking for perfection don’t rent this home. But if you’re looking for a homey relaxing atmosphere. This is the place you want. We felt right at home and Candice is awesome. Thank you Candice.

Absolutely Everything You Need!

Nice large ranch. Kitchen was exceptional in appliances, paper supplies, knives, utensils, etc. Dining table was nice and large for family meals. Family room offered plenty of seating and a large television. Nice proximity to Cherry Point and made the visit with my son and his family fantastic. Homeowner is personable, quick to respond and even mailed home a special "blankie" that was left behind. Will stay again.

The WOW Factor

The pictures posted on homeaway does not do this property justice! It was beautiful, we walked in to a beautiful high ceiling foyer. The bedrooms were huge and confortable. The master bath had a jacuzzi tub that wasn't posted on the website so that was a wonderful surprise. It rained the entire weekend of our stay so the closed in porch (front & back) was a plus. We enjoyed ourselves even with the down pours of rain. We would definately stay again and again!

Exactly what we were looking for!

This was the perfect place for my family! We were visiting my son, who is stationed in Cherry Point, and wanted a place where we could spend time together. The house had plenty of room and was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend and will definitely rent again when we revisit my son.

Needs some work

The hurricane resulted in some soft spongy spots on the floors. Some were dangerous. Also mold on the outside of the house. The couch needs to be replaced. Empty cigarette packs found in one bureau and faint smell of smoke. The house has a lot of potential but needs a lot of work/updating. Location is great and owner a pleasure to work with and very cooperative. This could be an excellent rental.

Clean Home, Quiet Neighborhood

Pros: Clean home on dead end with great privacy, close to downtown and major highways Cons: Pool is not for guests use, we couldn't use the grill (propane was left on and not cleaned from previous visitors), if you have allergies home may bother you as there was an animal scent (pet friendly property) and musty. Not enough seating on porch for 4 people at table.

Perfect!

The house was perfect. It was exactly what we wanted. We used the sunroom a lot and the whole family came over and we grilled out. It was a lot of room and was great so all the kids were not on top of each other. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone that comes to the New Bern NC area. The renters are awesome and so easy to deal with. The house just felt like home and we loved that feel!! We all appreciate everything.

Nice place, was clean and in a nice location

We stayed here during Bike MS. Lovely home, Had trouble with the wifi, owner tried hard to resolve while we were there, unfortunately was unable to fix during our stay. There was also an issue with the half bath that the owner tried to get a plumber out to fix. We still had 2 bathrooms, but with 7 people was inconvenient. Owner worked to try to resolve, but offered a partial refund for the inconveniences. I am happy with the end result and would stay there again.

Perfect for our needs!

We came for an 80th birthday and 60th anniversary combo weekend. I needed to be able to cook a nice dinner and entertain. The location was perfect being in my parents' neighborhood. The home was clean and nicely decorated. The bedding and other furniture was comfortable. The bath, bedroom, and kitchen amenities were plentiful and in good condition. We were there during the height of pollen season, so staying up on that aspect of cleaning is nearly impossible, so we didn't take advantage of the great screened-in porch which was awesome....next time! Communication with Candace was very efficient as was checking in/out. We had a perfect visit and our objective of the celebratory dinner worked out just great. We will request again. Candace was a most hospitable host!

Fairfield Harbour House

Booking was an easy process and there was good communication prior to checking in. House is well laid out and bathrooms were clean and had lots of towels supplied. We would like to add that there was an aroma in the foyer and hallways leading to the bedrooms (musty mildew smell) that we immediately noticed (several of the guests had allergies) and surprisingly owner never responded to concerns about it. Not sure why we weren't contacted back about the smell. Our other question about the gate was answered. Refrigerator ice maker did not make ice, so we bought bagged ice. I wouldn't recommend this property to a friend due to the conditions and hiccups that we experienced.

Very relaxing great location.

The home is nicely decorated, fully furnished, with all required amenities. We were invited to check in early as he previous guests had checked out early. The home was cleaned prior to our arrival with fresh linens and bedding, towels etc. We were up late the night before our departure and did not wake up in time to depart on schedule. Candice was very understanding of this although this did adversely effect the cleaning staff schedule. We tried to compensate by offering to clean everything prior to departure and we did wash and dry all the lines and towels, however Candice insisted we had paid for the cleaning service and if we wanted to leave the cleaning staff some extra money for the wasted trip they had made it would more than compensate for their inconvenience. We left a 20 for gas for the staff and departed. We had a great relaxing time. It rained all weekend so we did not get to use the horse shoe pit area as much as we would have liked but enjoyed planing cards, watching movies and sightseeing around New Bern. If you are just looking to get away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of hte city for some "me time" and just relax, I highly recommend this property. The owners are very accomodating and will go out of their way to ensure you are satisfied. Candice, thank you for everything, this was a great experience.

Beautiful home

I really enjoyed the stay we had at the home. The owner was wonderful and worked with us to extend our stay. I would recommend this home to anyone that is in the area. we enjoyed walking downtown New Bern. and when you go be sure and visit the hardware store!!!

Comfortably and cozy

My family really enjoyed its stay at this rental in New Bern. It was easy to access the waterfront and local fishing areas along the river. We were looking for a quiet place to spend family-focused time, talk, play board games and reconnect before summer ended. This rental provided that with comfortable and clean bedrooms, Wifi, a well equipped kitchen and a screened in back porch where we spent every evening. It is spacious and nicely decorated...it felt like we were staying at a friend's house. The house had many amenities (tv, movies, stereo) which we did not use because we were focused on time as a family. We did take our two dogs with the owners' permission. The yard is not fenced in but there is a small kennel and the yard is big enough for leash walking at potty time. The owners are very responsive to questions. It is located in a gated community. We had an really good experience overall.
