We are sorry Mr Heimke had this experience. We have this property professionally exterminated and give guests guidelines in our check in letter as to how they can keep bugs out. The most important guideline is to keep the doors shut. The reservation was for a man and his girlfriend instead we had 3 to 4 men staying there and according to our house keeper the door shut instruction was not followed We do have 4 cats that call the property home A neighbor has a cat that comes over when he hears the dinner bell ring. They are disclosed right on our property discription. They have their own home but you will see them. We do have 1 small squirrel that made a tiny hole behind a gutter and gets in the attic. We have known of this little guy for many weeks. We have not covered the hole yet because we need to be sure he is out before we cover the hole. The process is a loud and intrusive. The place has been booked solid so in order get him out we would have cancel someone's trip. The only other option is to try the extraction while guest are there. We have asked several guests if they would mind allowing that and all have declined and indicated the issuse was not a big deal. We do have a break in the schedule next week, We will take this time to get him out and cover the hole. We are closing the place down in January so we can take a more perminate measure. We really enjoy sharing this property that has given us decades of fun. I think our over all reviews from the last 14 years have reflected our interest and attention.
