We loved everything about this beautiful cottage. Our group of 6 adults was very comfortable. We were in the area for ATVing and the trail is right down the road. Hope to book a return next year.

summer after '69

Fabulous quite lake front. This rustic cottage is on one of Canada's (and United States)most historic waterways. The canoe route to the upper great lakes and western North America passes by your front window. Imagine all early indigenous travellers, explorers, courier de bois and fur traders used these same waters. The loon's gentle song added to evening grace and a morning wake up call. We had a lovely time.

Another Flawless Stay

Stayed for our fifth straight year and had a great time. We had 6 adults this year which is our most so far but the property is well suited for it. We stayed in the sleeper cabin for the first time and loved it, nothing beats waking up to that view! Great area, lots of nature and nearby activities, fishing off the dock and the kayaks were a hit. Cause a bass and a pike off the dock and saw a lot of animals at the cottage and out on our hikes - a fox, beaver, chipmunks, snake, salamander, frogs, fox, a MOOSE. Another great year, hope to be back soon!

Cottage Paradise

This is a beautiful tranquil cottage experience. The cottage and property are clean and well maintained, and you can tell the owners take pride in seeing that you have a fun and enjoyable stay. It is very private and there is an abundance of wildlife that will amaze you. These type of properties are becoming more difficult to find. This was our third time staying here and we have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Thanks again to the owners for sharing this lovely cottage.

Cute cabin

Very cute cabin as the pictures showed but unfortunately for us we were limited to the cabin for the entire week as the blackflies were the worst ive ever seen (I grew up in northern ontario). Absolutely stunning riverside view and host was very nice but the blackflies definitely ruined our trip.

Peaceful and relaxing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this beautiful, clean, well appointed and comfortable log cabin. Tiny is a very communicative hostess who thinks of all the little extra special things to make everything nicer. The location on the Mattawa River was idyllic. The history of the area was so thoroughly fascinating and important to our Canadian heritage. The town was quaint and the people very friendly. This is a top notch property in a beautiful location. We look forward to our return visit next fall to enjoy the spectacular fall colours. Thank you very much for your hospitality Tina!

Perfect Spot!

This was our third stay at this cabin for a fall ATV trip with some friends and family. Always spotless and well appointed. Three and a half days of rain didn't stop us from having a great time on the VMUTS trail system...which is conveniently just a short ride down the road. Just a few minutes from town yet very private. Everyone in our group loves this place.

The Perfect Getaway

Fourth stay for my girlfriend and I, and the best one yet. This beautiful cottage is such a peaceful, special place and has become a tradition for us to visit. Brought my parents for a couple of days so that they could see why we keep coming back, and they were extremely impressed! So clean and cozy. Best way to unwind and relax. Time Stands Still Here

This is a special place, where time stands still. My husband and son both caught pike off the end the dock, and we enjoyed kayaking around the lake. Unfortunately we could only stay a few days because a family crisis brought us home early.

This was such an awesome place. I would highly recommend anyone with children stay here. The little beach was great and the water was warm. The town of Mattawa is beautiful.

Wonderful weekend getaway in Mattawa

Fabulous Getaway

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at the cottage. It is every bit as beautiful as in the photos, and spotlessly clean. We arrived and departed in the rain, so having the carport to park under right beside the door was fabulous as we have a convertible and needed to put the top down to get the cooler, etc. out of the back seat! The cottage is tastefully and very comfortably furnished, with a very comfortable bed, and the kitchen is very well stocked with good quality cookware, dishes and glasses, etc. Although our first 2 days were cold and gray, we still managed to get out and walk daily, including a great hike at the Eau Claire Gorge site. And even when indoors just relaxing and reading, we never tired of the lovely views of the water. Our last two days were gloriously warm and sunny, and we spent much of the day just sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the water (where my husband finally and happily caught - and released - two fish!), reading and basking in the sun. And we enjoyed two nights by the fire as well. Many thanks Tina for sharing your beautiful cottage with us, and for the treats you left on the table for us. We'd love to return sometime again, and highly recommend this rental.

Very well maintained property !, Boat launch , great fishing , loved the outdoor kitchen !... only negative was our daughter came for an afternoon visit and within minutes of her arrival we were warned of there no pet policy ?! ...we reviewed our rental agreement and there is No mention of pets not being welcome on this property ... other than that we had a wonderful week ...Thanks Wayne !

Second great atv getaway

This was our second time staying at the cabin for a long weekend atv trip. We booked this cabin again since we were so impressed when we stayed last year. Very clean, cozy atmosphere and right down the road from the trail system. Highly recommended.

Tina is an amazing host who has thought of everything you will need while staying at her clean and cozy cottage. We were greeted with a basket full of goodies and a breathtaking view! Her cottage is close to town and a variety of trails. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Second stay, still excellent

We love this property. The cottage is beautiful, equipped with all you might need. It is surrounded by pine trees, lovely view of the water, and very quiet! We are senior seniors lol, so we didn’t use the canoe or kayaks, but my husband loved fishing off the dock. We made good use of the outdoor kitchen. Lots of books and games inside, plus Netflix for rainy days.

We've loved this log cottage for years and when the owners decided to sell their much loved summer home, we were blessed to buy it for our children. It's still a few years away before they will use it, so we are renting it out so that it will still be enjoyed. One year, we spent Christmas day there as an ongoing tradition and we can't imagine a more perfect setting. What a treat! A wonderful family occasion with a roaring fire, board games, laughs and hot chocolate!

Nature at her best, white majestic pines, clean lake/river, privacy yet not far from town, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, peace & quiet, marshmallow roast, BBQ, history, museum, art gallery, hiking trails, good & inexpensive golf. And we could go on!
