This was our second week long stay here. Very comfortable space with everything you could need. My husband loves to walk over to the store daily and have something to eat from the Dawson Store. Close enough to town to see family daily but far enough away to feel like you are getting away from it all. We highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was perfect for our visit to Thunder Bay. The host thought of everything a guest may need. Right from bags of chips to snack on, pre-prepared pancake mix, to even extra tooth brushes should you need one. Would definately recommend this place.

What a wonderful property. It is one of the better equipped places we've stayed. It is nicely located in the country away from the city and serves as a nice jump off point for the Thunder Bay area. We stayed there a couple of days on our trip navigating around Lake Superior. The host is fantastic. Great communication! The Finn Pancake batter, strawberries and whipped cream in the fridge was a welcome surprise and very tasty. We had breakfast at the Dawson General Store right next door one day and it was very good. Would highly recommend if your looking for a nice place to stay in the Thunder Bay area.

Great Thunder Bay retreat

This place was amazing….. very quiet and had everything you needed…we were doing the Lake Superior Circle tour so this was a great place to stay for a couple nights to explore everything near Thunder Bay.

Our family of 7 adults stayed a week in this home while on vacation to Thunder Bay. The home had everything we needed and more. It was nice having an outdoor grill to cook our meals instead of using the oven. The owners have thought of everything people need to make the stay more enjoyable. From extra laundry soap, paper towel, spices, bags of chips and even pancake mix with strawberries ready for us in the refrigerator. The home was in the perfect location. Within an hour of many different waterfalls, the Sleeping Giant, Eagle Canyon, Mount Mckay, Fort William, Grand Portage MN and many other attractions. We were busy every day site seeing and hiking trails. We live 12 hours away in Michigan. If we make it back to Thunder Bay, we will definitely stay here during our next trip.

Fantastic home! Our family visited to ski at Loch Lomond and this home was amazing. The host left fresh goodies for our arrival, and everything was just perfect. The weather was particularly cold all week, but the house was warm and snug.

This is our second stay with Mike and Taina. The house is a perfect location for cross country skiing at Lappe and has one of the best stocked kitchens I have rented! They also leave delicious nordic pancake batter and strawberries. Our kids loved having breakfast here

We could not have asked for a cleaner and well stocked accommodation. Mike & Tania even provided a pitcher of pre-made Finnish pancake batter and strawberries upon our arrival. The place was immaculate, beds were excellent and it truly was cozy. We travelled to TBay for a family funeral and it was truly a relief to find the place was exactly as advertised and not another source of stress. Two minor caveats, the house does not appear to have air conditioning even though the listing shows that it does, and the outside parking area can get pretty mucky when wet. However these minor issues are not deal breakers and when we return to TBay we will definitely ensure to book the house again if available.

Yes we do have an air conditioner which is free standing and is installed June 1. Also yes the driveway was muddy as we had so much snow and then rain. We explained to you that we will fix when it dried with gravel.

We were passing through the Thunder Bay area on our way north fishing. The house had everything we could ask for and was a great place to relax and unwind after a long day of driving. We’d definitely stay here again.

Country in the city-big yard-fenced back yard-creek in front yard with speckled trout that can often be seen from the banks. Easy access along HWY 102 a major east west route. Nearby store for almost anything guests may need. Including take out hot food-take away and heat premade meals-groceries......
