October is the best month for the Gulf!

Mermaids N' Mimosas is found on Hwy 180 headed towards the Fort and Tacky Jacks. Once considered a fish camp and now a small piece of luxury on the peninsula island many have come to know and love.

Our beach cottage is a 3 Bedroom / 2 Bath home sitting on a very private 1/2 acre of land. Just one street away from being ocean front. Relax on the front porch, feel the constant breeze and enjoy your view of Mobile Bay. Relax on the full sized back deck off of the kitchen and enjoy the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico.

We purchased and brought this property back to life in the summer of 2023. It was originally built in 1983 by the first owners and used as a personal vacation home and never rented. We are the second owners and fully renovated the property, bringing a breath of fresh air back into the home. Every room has been completely redone with all new furnishings and appliances on the inside and brand new decks front and rear on the outside.

Our home is taken care of by a dedicated team of individuals that are local to the area and will take care of just like you were family.

Golf cart is NOT included with the property! A golf cart is available on the property for a charge of $400/week. Golf cart rentals are also available through a local company called island carts golf cart rentals!

We had an awesome time. Property was amazing. Spend the money on the golf cart, (lifesaver) If you have military, fire, police, etc… cart rental is waived by Owner. Contact host for that amenity!

Great house!

Really enjoyed this property! Clean, updated and in close proximity to the beach. We rented a golf cart and drove it to the beach access at the end of the side street. The only downside is there is not many places for food, ice, etc. within a short distance. But the home itself was great!
There was a great breeze under the house relaxing on the swing!

The Perfect Week

This house was awesome. Perfect location. Walk to the beach was short. Sitting under the house after a day at the beach was wonderful . House was extremely clean and just as advertised . Highly recommend this house. Private yet close to everything. Five stars!

Looking for a getaway

My family and I have been looking for a beach getaway we would want to repeat. Fort Morgan is that! Beautiful, safe, clean and quiet! Mermaids and Mimosas was a wonderful cozy place to stay as we enjoyed our week in Fort Morgan.

Great property!

No complaints at all about this property or the communication with the owner/property manager! The golf cart add on was worth it for our stay and came in very handy. Only a couple things I wish the property would have had: a larger shower/bath in the 2nd bathroom, actual closet in the 2nd bedroom and/or the washer/dryer in the bunk room and an extra ice maker 😂 but these are more my high maintenance requests. Thanks so much Holly for everything and checking on us during the controlled fire situation. Look forward to our next stay at Mermaids & Mimosas 💗

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Fort Morgan for the week in Mermaids and Mimosas. The house was a short walk to the beach. We made the most of our week in the cottage and cooked almost every meal in the kitchen and all could sit around the great island in the middle and enjoy conversation. Thanks for a great week of relaxation!

Great Getaway

The house was a great fit for our family. It had plenty of space and was stocked with everything we needed. Even though we were not directly on the beach we were still able to see the water and hear the waves crashing from the comfort of the deck. The proximity to the beach was a short walk for our teenager and the area was not over populated and quaint.

Great fall break getaway

The house was great for our family of 4 plus our goldendoodle. We enjoyed our stay. The walk to beach was about 5ish minutes which Holly did let us know about beforehand. We also found it easier to drive down next road over and park near the water access point when we had all our chairs/boogie boards. We would definitely stay here again!

Mermaids and Mimosas

The property was in a great location for us. We aren't into the busyness of places we visit for vacation, so this location was away from all of that but still close enough to drive to all of it. The beach area wasn't overcrowded, another plus. The beach house did have a problem with ants but wasn't a huge problem. Also, the foot boards on the beds stuck out about an inch which we caught out legs on while getting up during the middle of the night a few times.

Very disappointing

The house was nice fully remodeled well a equipped with everything you need. But my bedroom had ants in it, all on the floor well I didn’t notice until the 2nd night there when my husband put his face mask on for his machine and they were all over it and got on his head and face. So the next morning I got up and put my sweatpants on and they were all in them bit the crap out of my legs and feet. Well I went to the store and bought ant killer and I sprayed the whole house down and put out some poison in my room and bathroom. Well I thought that had killed them and made them go away but it didn’t and some how some got into our bed and I got bit on my upper lip by one. but that wasn’t even the worst the mosquitoes there was awful, and they look more like big horseflies then mosquitoes.I have more ants and mosquitoes bites then I have ever had in my life.And the walk to the beach it was no where near of what they described. There is no trail to the beach. You either drive or have about a 10 minute walk. And there is no public access to the bay unless you drive down the road or go to the pier.Also there was still some of the construction things left behind and nails everywhere on the concrete. underneath the house. But if you don’t mind ants and mosquitoes and the walk to the beach and no access to the bay than this is the place for you. It wasn’t the place for me or my family we will not be vacationing back at fort Morgan or ever staying in this home a again.
