BEST AQUATIKA PENTHOUSE: truly beachfront, 10 beds, 5 rooms, 10 person capacity
This is the penthouse closest to the beach, plus only 200 feet from the heated pool and clubhouse. It has 10 beds in 5 rooms including 2 kings, 3 fulls, 2 queen sleep sofas, 1 twin sleep sofa and 2 airs: queen + full. All furniture is new. Amazing views of the ocean and mountains from the windows and huge roof deck. You may already know Aquatika is a great resort with 5 pools, 3 jacuzzis, 2 playgrounds, a nice beach and facilities for many sports and games. More on Aquatika benefits is below. First here are 15 reasons why this is the best condo there. I wrote headings in caps so you can skim the headings and read the ones that interest you:
1) RECREATIONAL ITEMS INCLUDED: Aquatika does not provide a basketball, volleyball, soccer ball, tennis rackets or mini-golf clubs and balls for use on its facilities made for those things. Most rental owners also don’t provide those things because of the time and money required. But my condo has all of them ready for your use whenever you want. I also provide a football, air pump, 4 big umbrellas, 5 beach chairs, a large beach blanket, many beach towels, a cooler, many Freeze Ice Paks, a swimming noodle, 2 boogie boards, 2 blow-up floaters and 2 sets of children’s snorkeling gear.
2) ALL NEW: All the interior furniture and artwork are new, the hot water heater and microwave are new and the fridge and AC units are like-new. If you have more than 6 people, the dining table has a leaf to easily expand its size to fit 8 people in 8 matching cushioned chairs or 10 people with two other chairs. Also a free washer and dryer and free detergent in the condo.
3) MANY BEDS, LARGE BEDS: This includes 2 king beds, 2 full-size bunk beds, 2 queen sleeper sofas (one in each of the 2 living rooms) and 2 air mattresses (queen and full). Most rental owners don’t spend the money to buy king beds. They almost never have 2 queen sleep sofas. If they buy bunks, they don’t spend the money for full-sized beds up and down.
There are 3 bedrooms plus one sleep sofa is in the upper living room, which has a lot of privacy, a half bathroom and a large armoire with drawers and hangars for clothing. It’s basically like a 4th bedroom, and can also fit a queen air mattress on the floor. The other sleep sofa is in the downstairs living room. You could have 8 people each with their own bed. Or 10 people with sharing.
4) TOP TIER ENTERTAINMENT: the condo has 3 big-screen 4K TVs with the highest-tier, most expensive cable TV package including lots of English-language channels, plus many free on-demand shows and movies. Most rentals have the lowest tier or average tier TV package. All of my TVs connect to a combined DVR that you can record shows and movies to. All TVs are smart and can stream most services. I also have a dozen card / board games.
5) USEFUL GUIDES: I created a top-notch guide of the best things to do in the region. It would take about 70 days to do everything available, and I've put the best 15% into a guide including map links, booking links, advice and nearby restaurants. I spent about 60 hours making the guide, and it will probably save you over 10 hours of your time. Before you arrive, I also send you directions and a guide to the condo.
6) TOP SPEED INTERNET: Super high-speed, high bandwidth Internet that reaches throughout the condo. It is the most expensive tier. It can handle streaming to multiple TVs plus many people using computers and smart-phones at the same time. Most rentals have a low to medium Internet plan. My condo has never had a problem with cell phone reception. But if you ever have weak reception (or if you want to save minutes on your plan), I have a landline with free unlimited calling in the US and PR.
7) ROOF DECK: Most penthouse roof decks are not very well furnished. My roof deck has 2 lounge chairs, a large couch, 2 regular chairs, 6 cushioned dining table chairs, a dining table and a food serving cart.
8) EASE OF ACCESS: It has a front door keypad password so you don’t have to worry about sharing a key or losing the key. It also lets you check-in whenever you want. This is not a lockbox keypad - for which you would still need to either share a key, or open and close the lockbox each time you come or go. Door keypads are far more convenient.
9) VERY LOADED KITCHEN: It has a super well-stocked kitchen including a huge fridge, new microwave, 2-tier oven, coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, blender, rice cooker and lots of pots/pans, cutting knives, serving bowls, cooking implements and dinnerware. Also 1 water filter in the sink and 1 water filter in the fridge, so you save money not buying bottled water. I have a new air fryer and slow cooker, but I don't guarantee these because if they break, it takes time to get a new one.
10) COMFORTS: All rooms have blinds including the living room. The BRs have both blinds and light-blocking shades. All BRs and both living rooms have their own separate AC units / zones that you can set to the exact temperature you want. The showers have very large shower heads, and are stocked with 2 shampoo types, 2 conditioner types and 2 body washes. In all: 4 shampoo types and 4 conditioner types.
11) REALLY BEACHFRONT: It’s one of only 8 beachfront penthouse condos. Beware many owners say “beachfront,” but are not. Check if any photos show views of the beach from the living room and roof deck.
12) CLOSEST: Of the 8 beachfront penthouses, it’s one of the two closest to the beach. It’s also 200 feet from the only heated pool and Aquatika clubhouse.
13) PENTHOUSE BENEFITS: The penthouses have much bigger living rooms, plus a 2nd living room (that can be used as a 4th bedroom), enormous windows, a 3rd bathroom, a huge roof deck and no noise coming from neighbors upstairs. By contrast, the 1st and 2nd floor units have a small living room, no 2nd living room, no 3rd bathroom, no roof deck, small windows, and neighbors’ music, arguments and footsteps above you.
14) FULL OCEAN AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS: My building is one of only a few that face the ocean on the front side (to the east) and face the rainforest mountains on the back side (to the west). By contrast, most Aquatika buildings are north/south, and don’t face either the beach or the mountains. The back sides face low-income neighborhoods, and the front windows face directly at other condos. So you’re looking at other condos that are looking at you. Moreover, they have either no views of the ocean and mountains, or very limited views. 100% of my windows have very nice views of the ocean or the mountains.
15) END UNIT PLUSES: My condo is an end unit, which has 3 benefits: A) 2 extra bedroom windows with lovely ocean views. B) In middle units, on one side you have neighbors 10 feet away PLUS on the other side, you have neighbors directly on the other side of the condo wall. Ends units only have the former, with open space on the other side. In total, my unit only has direct neighbors below, while non-penthouse middle units have neighbors above, below and to the side: they have triple the number of neighbors. C) on a middle unit roof deck, the majority of the wall areas are tall, so you can’t see over them. But the end unit deck has mostly short walls you can see over, and only one tall wall on 1/2 of one side. This makes the views far wider and beautifully stunning.
IMPORTANT: Most resorts charge a nightly resort fee of $40 to $90 per room, with 3 bedrooms being $120 to $180 a night of resort fees, and $600 to $900 for 5 nights. So this rental website is only set up to charge nightly resort fees. Fortunately Aquatika only charges a very low one-time resort fee of $10 per person for the whole stay for a bracelet that must be worn to enter. Since this site can’t handle a one-time resort fee, it isn't included in the rental price.
You need to send me a list of names and pay the fee 7 days before arrival; or within 24 hours if you book within 7 days, or within a half day if you book within 4 days. I’ll email you links to 3 payment method options. Almost all Aquatika rentals do the same approach. You receive the bracelets at the front gate when you arrive. At least one of the names must match a passport of any country, or a driver’s license from PR or North America.
The resort has a limit of 10 people per rental including infants. Naturally this means extra guests can't visit. Otherwise, people can book one condo and have 40 visitors, which would make the facilities too crowded for you. So this protects your enjoyment. At my condo, a base number of guests are included for free, and a small fee exists for each extra guest above that number. Enter your number of guests in the search field, and the price will reflect that.
THE REST IS MORE AQUATIKA INFORMATION:
Aquatika has 5 pools, 3 hot tubs, 2 half-court basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, 4 pickle ball courts, 2 nice playgrounds with tunnel slides, volleyball court, mini-golf course and a huge grass field for soccer, football, frisbee or yoga. There's excellent security that keeps out anyone who's not a guest, so you're very safe.
Aquatika has a semi-private, sandy beach with trees for shade, an exciting water slide open on weekends, and one of the only heated pools in PR, and it’s only 200 feet from the condo. None of the resorts or condo complexes in the eastern third of PR have a heated pool. I know since I have a medical problem that causes no body heat, so a condo with a heated pool was my top factor. FYI: the winding pool is not a lazy river with motion. It's also the coldest pool as the buildings are close and block the sun.
The resort is also close to many stores, restaurants and 4 big supermarkets. It's only 30 minutes from the airport and 20 from the entrance to the El Yunque rainforest park. There's a Walgreens, Marshalls and Walmart 10 minutes away that's open late where you can get just about anything you need. Even if you forget to bring something, you can most likely get it for a very good price nearby.

Four of us made a last-minute booking after our trip to Mexico was cancelled. We found the condo to be one of the best-stocked rentals we've ever stayed in, clean, and right on the beach. It is between Old San Juan and El Yunque, so very conveniently located. I would definitely recommend a rental car, however. Peter was terrific with communication and provided us with all the information we needed for a relaxing visit.

We recently stayed at this beachfront penthouse and had a great experience. The condo was perfect for our family of five with more than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. The roof deck is huge and makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors while still in the condo. It was well stocked with the basics we needed, including bowls, utensils, and kitchen items that made it easy to prepare meals.We really appreciated the variety of water accessories and balls/games available. That made it especially enjoyable for the kids and saved us from needing to bring or buy extra beach gear.The gated community felt safe and the beachfront location made it easy to enjoy the ocean throughout our stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient place for a family vacation, and we would definitely stay here again.

I’m glad your family found the condo to be perfect and a great experience. A reason I have about triple the quantity and variety of accessories for the pool/beach, and games and balls than the average condo is about 70% of renters at PR resorts are PR families taking vacations. They can bring their own stuff, or don’t want to spend more for a condo with them. So most owners I’ve spoken to say they don't want to put the time and money into buying and replacing a sizable quantity and variety of those things, as they sort of quickly wear out. So they get a little or sort of a small amount. But the first months I hosted, my renters (who are mostly in the US) appreciated having plenty and a variety. So I got far more. So much so that I’ve had to buy 3 extra cabinets, a ball rack and a few bins to store them. I’m glad I did since it really helps make vacations much more enjoyable, and saves renters time and money. Vacation time is rare and valuable. People don’t want to spend it in stores trying to find needed items.

This property truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless, well-organized, and incredibly easy. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and clearly maintained with great care and attention to detail. Communication with the host was excellent — responsive, thoughtful, and proactive in a way that made the entire stay stress free. In addition the host also sent personal guides. They were extremely helpful and made planning our days simple and enjoyable. Thanks to those recommendations, some of our favorite moments included the San Juan walking tour, visiting Río Mameyes, and spending a magical day in El Yunque. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional and thoughtfully hosted getaway.

I’m glad you thought I was an awesome host. Though the region looks poor or “a little sketchy” by US standards, it is normal by overall PR standards, and is much safer than the US by most measures of crime. For your awareness, I’ve shared details and statistics about that below. I’m sorry the water slide pool was temporarily closed during your visit. It re-opened just after you left with some improvements including new paint. The reason why the main buildings of the resort were in need of updating (mostly painting and roof tiles) is that after a hurricane about six years ago, the insurance company didn’t reimburse our resort for most of the damage. So the resort had to spend a lot of its money to fix the damage, then for a few years only had enough remaining for doing maintenance and repairs, and not upgrades.
This year the resort was awarded $4 million in a settlement, so it’s hired a contractor to paint all of the buildings and redo all the roofs. In the 7 weeks since you were there, they’ve already added 4 new pickle ball courts, renovated the tennis court, greatly improved the mini golf course, done several other upgrades and started re-painting and re-roofing the buildings. There are 200 condos so it’ll take some time to do all of them.
Related to your note about the area being a little sketchy, for your information here are details about safety and crime in the area. As the FBI statistics below describe, crime in the US is far higher than in PR. And within PR, Loiza (the region my condo is located) is fortunately not in the top 10 regions of PR with the highest crime rates. The bulk of people in Loiza are very religious, hard-working and kind. Like in all places in the world, there are bad apples. So of course you should use common sense and, for example, not walk down dark unknown side streets at night. But there shouldn’t be any reason to walk down a dark street at night. It’s a rural region, so rental guests drive everywhere they want to go, then park next to the restaurant or attraction.
Here is the crime rate data from the FBI. PR had 200.8 violent crimes per 100,000 people. The US rate is 90% higher at 380.6 per. The property crime rate in PR is 777.8 per 100,000. The US is a stunning 183% higher at 2,199.5 per. It’s not limited to cities in the US. 5 of the 10 US states with the highest percentages of rural people, and with no big or medium cities are Arkansas, Montana, Alabama, West Virginia and South Dakota. Their violent crime rates per 100,000 are higher than in PR respectively by 171%, 86%, 159%, 44% and 101%. Also, the most popular tourist destinations in the US have far higher rates than PR including Alaska (259% higher), Florida (103%), Arizona (110%), California (99%) and Nevada (203%). Super popular tourist places like LA, NY, Chicago, DC and Miami are much higher than their state averages, and 300% to 500% higher than PR.
Also the police headquarters for the municipality of Loiza is 5 minutes from the resort, plus the state police headquarters for this region of PR is also 5 minutes away. Having 2 police headquarters helps deter crime. In my condo guide that I sent you, I give the phones for both. Plus PR uses the same 911 system that the rest of the US uses. Although a lot of the neighborhoods in PR look a little sketchy (as you wrote in your review), fortunately crime is much lower in PR.
To be on the safe side, the resort normally has 3 guards on duty between 6am and 10pm with 1 or 2 in the front gate booth to handle the cars entering; and 1 or 2 roaming the grounds on bikes or scooters or on foot. Usually 2 to 3 are on duty from 10pm to 6am when there are less cars entering the front gate. I hope these details I've shared help you feel more comfortable during future visits.

Beautiful Home
The place was amazing. It was like being home. My teenage boys really enjoyed it, the unit was very well equipped with everything you need Plus tones of extras for entertainment. Peter was an amazing host. The view from inside the unit was amazing and the resort features were great, the boys had lots to do while they were there. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Loved it!!
This was an awesome place to stay! The host was very helpful and the location was great! The penthouse was stocked with every thing you would need! We loved our movie night out on the balcony! We would definitely stay there again!!

I'm glad you found it was awesome. My goal is to have it stocked with everything renters may need because vacations are a special time for family and friends to bond, relax and rejuvenate only once or twice a year. People should spend the maximum amount of time doing those things, and minimal time driving to stores to buy needed things or having to wash dishes by hand due to a rental not having a dishwasher, or not having other useful things. Nice to hear you watched a movie on the roof patio - when I bought the TV stand on wheels, that’s exactly what I bought it for. Anyway, thanks for being a great renter.

Awesome location and set up for a family
Peter was the best host I have had since using VRBO years ago. Everything was very accurate and his communication was extremely impressive and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to others based on the location and value. My family had a blast!

This is a home away from home. Our host, Peter, thought of everything. With a party of 8 and children ranging from 3 to 12, the condo provided the perfect space to relax and enjoy a wonderful beach experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this property in Loíza! The unit itself was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Everything we needed to feel at home was provided. Communication with the host was fantastic. All questions were answered quickly, and the abundance of information provided beforehand made sure we had all we needed for an enjoyable visit.The amenities really stood out, not only within the unit but also throughout the resort. From the pools to the recreational areas, everything was plentiful, well-kept, and made the experience even better. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into making the property accommodating for guests.Overall, the combination of a clean and comfortable unit, excellent communication, and top-notch amenities made our stay exceptional. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Absolutely Spectacular Penthouse Stay!My family and I just returned from one of the most incredible stays we’ve ever had! This penthouse was simply spectacular — the rooftop views were breathtaking. In one direction, you could see the majestic mountains, and in the other, the ocean was right there, just steps away, maybe a dozen at most.The space itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully furnished. Everything you could possibly need was provided, beach chairs, towels, toys, kitchen essentials, all you have to do is show up, relax, and enjoy. It truly felt like home, only better.But what truly made this experience exceptional was our host, Peter. I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in luxury hotels and resorts all over, yet I’ve never received service like this. Peter was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely caring. His professionalism and expertise were unmatched, he went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything, felt comfortable, and could completely unwind without a single worry.Thanks to Peter, this trip was more than just a getaway, it was an experience we’ll never forget. YES!! STAY HERE:-)
I could go on and on about what a great place this is. The unit itself was very clean; VERY well stocked including kitchen, baths and laundry. Wonderful selection of beach/pool toys, cooler, chairs, towels. Indoor and outdoor games. The view is incredible. The beach was perfect/AWESOME for us. Shade for those who wanted it. Calm enough water for our three-year-old to enjoy. Lots of things to do close by IF you want to leave the resort. It was a really great vacation in no small part due to how great this location is and the over-and-above efforts of our host. Super great communication.
We'd advise to bring closed-toed water shoes as there are some rocks in the water in some spots.

Thanks for the full review. One thing I'm going to add to the condo guide is that the left 1/4 of the beach seems to not have rocks in the water, so people should put their beach chairs and blanket there, and swim there. I don't think the other owners tell their renters this because I've never seen that 1/4 of the beach more crowded. I've only owned my condo since July, and I spent a month furnishing and decorating it with really no time to swim, then went home to Florida. This winter I went back for 5 weeks, and my sister visited for 5 days, and we figured out the best section of the beach for swimming because we didn’t see any rocks there during 4 trips to the beach and a lot of time in the water, and some of the time looking for rocks. It doesn’t hurt for people to toss a pair of water shoes in the suitcase for use at other beaches they go to, or just in case I’m mistaken about that 1/4, so thank you for the suggestion. On my next trip, I’m going to put on one of the full-face snorkel masks and search even more thoroughly in that 1/4 to see if I missed a rock. Anyway, you were an excellent renter and you're very welcome to return whenever you want.

Amazing Rental
From the moment we booked Peter was an amazing host and offered all kinds of information from directions, things to do, places to shop and even how to operate some of the devices in the unit such as the AC. You do not find this level of detail and care often, and for this I cannot thank Peter enough. Every detail was thought of in this unit. Not once did we say, I wish we had.....because Peter had it here for his guests. Every photo on the site, every detail described was EXACTLY how it was in person. My favorite spot in the unit was sitting in the recliner looking out through the floor to ceiling windows at the beach every morning. The bedrooms were roomy, the floorplan was open and spacious and the private roof top was so tranquil. It was an amazing vacation and I definitely will stay here again the next time we come to Puerto Rico. Thank you Peter!

Reading your review makes me wish I was there now. I’m happy to hear you found that every detail was thought of, because that was my goal. I tried to make everything feel very spacious and roomy, while also packing lots of amenities and useful things into the various cabinets I bought to store them. Like you, one of my favorite spots is the big recliners by the 2-story high windows that face the beach and ocean. Also the roof patio.

Family-Friendly Spring Break
We recently spent our spring break at this Aquatika penthouse with our family of four. The condo was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out.The kitchen was well-equipped, which made it convenient to prepare several meals during our stay. We appreciated having all the necessary cookware, appliances, and common spices.One of the most useful features was the beach equipment provided. We used the chairs, cooler, and boogie boards almost daily, which was very convenient.The internet was reliable throughout our stay, which helped us research and plan our daily activities. We found the location convenient for accessing a wide range of activities - El Yunque rainforest, Fajardo, Old San Juan, and several different beaches were all reasonable drives. However, there's no restaurant on site, so be prepared to buy groceries or drive for meals. Also worth noting that many local places are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which we weren't expecting.The Aquatika resort amenities (multiple pools, beach access) were good for days when we didn't want to venture far. The gated community felt secure, and the keypad entry to the condo was convenient.Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and the condo served as a comfortable base for our Puerto Rico adventures. Nice to know you and your kids had a wonderful vacation, and benefitted from the guides I wrote to the attractions and activities. You might be happy to know that while you already thought the beach gear was quite useful, I’ve increased the amount of beach gear since your stay. I expanded the number of snorkels/masks to 9, I increased the number of inflatables/floaties, and got other additonal gear for the beach and pool.

Book this one! You won’t regret it!
This place has everything. When the host tells you he probably has it, he does. From hair dryers, to life jackets, golf clubs, floaties, extra blankets, shampoo and conditioner, spices, lots of kitchen stuff…this condo has it all. The host is incredibly organized and knows everything in his condo. He communicates regularly and is super responsive. From luggage racks to a space to work-this condo has everything. I’ve stayed in so many VRBOs and none were as complete as this one. The facility is amazing. Private beach, endless pools, mini golf, tennis, bball courts….your kids won’t be bored!!There is a little convenience store right outside of the resort called La Conveniencia open until 8pm daily. Cheesecake there is amazing and 2 a slice. For a large grocery store you can go to FamCoop about 14 minutes away in the direction of El Yunque. For just a few things, go in the direction of Pinones to find smaller stores. During the week the town is quiet but come Thursday, it comes alive with lots of little hidden gems of restaurants everywhere. Condo is sooo convenient if you want to go to El Yunque, Las Pailas, Fajardo etc. Staying in San Juan would be a drag to drive that far to go see these things. I think the Loiza area is perfection in terms of where to stay. The host has a million recommendations for things to do and places to eat and they’re amazing. Take his recommendations and save yourself time. This place is 10/10 and we can’t wait to return!

Nice to hear that my place was the most complete of all the VRBO’s you’ve rented. I put a big amount of time towards that and towards being organized, so thanks for noticing. It’s great you thought the resort was amazing. I truly love it and it’s getting better every month. Since you were there, they’ve added 4 pickle ball courts, significantly improved the mini-golf course and many other things. Thanks also for mentioning that I have a ton of recommendations, and that they can be trusted. When I say in the rental description that I provide a guide to Puerto Rico, I don’t think people realize it can save them 15 to 20 hours of time.

The best rental I’ve stayed in during 20 years of regular travel
This was the best rental I’ve ever stayed in 20 years of regular travel. So I think it is indeed the best condo in the resort. After arriving, I re-read the rental description and all the advantages of this condo it described were true. The views of the ocean and mountains are amazing throughout the condo and roof deck. Right next to it are a gazebo, grills, volleyball, soccer field and beach. It’s the closest penthouse to all of those. It’s only a minute to the heated pool, clubhouse, hot tub and water slide pool.
The kitchen has a big variety of things for cooking and eating. It has double the number of glasses, utensils and cooking items that the average 3 BR has. The artwork was lovely. The furniture was nice-looking and comfortable. The AC units are strong and cool rooms quickly.
All of these were free: laundry detergent, dryer softeners, trash bags, multiple types of shampoos, conditioners and body washes, liquid soap by all sinks, a paper towels roll, two tissue boxes and toilet paper to last for two weeks. Every detail had been thought of to make the visit more enjoyable and easy. The upstairs TV is on wheels so you can watch it outside. The Internet is very fast.
Lots of sports equipment. The 6 mini-golf putters are adjustable height. There are many board games and card games. The guide the owner sent described all we needed to know. It had clear headings so we could quickly find the info we needed, without having to read it all. I highly recommend this condo.

My goal is to provide the best rental in the Loiza region, but I'm glad it's also the best you've stayed at in 20 years of traveling regularly to many places. Some of the places you stayed were far more expensive than mine, so I think that means mine offers good value for everything that it offers.

I volunteer full-time running a nonprofit organization focused on helping the poor of the world, who are trying to survive on less than $1.5 per day. I was born in New Jersey in 1968 so I’m 57. I grew up in Massachusetts and went to college in Washington DC at Georgetown. In 2005 I moved to Florida due to medical conditions that make my body produce almost no body heat. For the same reason, for the past 14 years I’ve spent at least several weeks per winter in Puerto Rico because even Florida is too cold for me. I’m Christian and enjoy spending time connecting with the love, goodness and peace of God. I suffer from several medical issues including muscle pains throughout my body and chronic fatigue, but I try to keep a positive attitude.

Most of the best stuff in PR is in the 50-minute stretch between Old San Juan and Fajardo, and Loiza is located roughly half-way between them. Loiza borders Rio Grande, Carolina and Canovanas. It's quite close to Luquillo and only about 30 to 35 minutes to the borders of San Juan and Fajardo. It's only 15 minutes to the entrance to the El Yunque rainforest / mountain range. The El Yunque area has hiking trails, waterfalls, horseback riding, ATV vehicle tours and zip lines.
At the same time, Loiza is quiet and has beautiful beaches, nice people and lots of nature. Loiza is mostly farmland, nature reserves and beaches. It is the breadbasket of Puerto Rico with the largest amount of food grown of any region. So there are many scenic views of fields of crops growing.
Loiza is the home of the gigantic nature reserve named Pinones, which has beautiful secluded beaches, a huge forest, lagoons with mangroves and some of the most popular food in PR.
Loiza is a vibrant cultural area, and the birthplace of a beautiful dance style called Bomba. The people of Loiza are very religious and there are a large number of churches. The people are kind, humble and hard-working.
Loiza is also very close to lots of stores and restaurants. Within 12 minutes of Aquatika, there is a Walmart Supercenter, Ralph’s supermarket, Marshalls, Walgreen’s pharmacy, Little Caesars, McDonalds, Baskin Robbins, KFC, Burger King, Firehouse Subs and lots of other restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining and everything in between.
Within 15 minutes, there’s a Home Depot, Dominos, Subway, Wendy’s, Golden Corral, and an outlet mall with many brand-name stores and a food court. Within 25 minutes, there’s a Costco, Ikea, JC Penney, Sam’s Club and many other stores. You can get anything you need.
Also, the international airport is only 30 minutes, and the amazing attraction of Old San Juan is only 40 minutes.
