Welcome to our little slice of heaven upstate. Located just a 5-minute drive to the MA border, a stay at our home in Canaan, NY means access to the best of both Columbia County and the Berkshires.

In the summer, enjoy the private Adams Point Beach on Queechy Lake and easy access to Tanglewood. In the winter, explore 4 different local ski resorts and curl up by the cozy wood stove. In between, enjoy the peaceful pond views and secluded location on a dirt road. We can't wait to welcome you!

[NOTE: the reason we don't have lots of reviews is because for the first year we rented the house we used a third party just to manage our VRBO listing. (We the owners have always managed the actual house and guest experience, they just managed the listing.) We stopped using them recently because we were doing all the management already and as a result lost our reviews. We had 5 stars and you can see screenshots of our reviews in the photos :)]

Our home is a renovated, fully-updated 19th century farmhouse located on a beautiful pond down a quiet dirt road with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and 3 separate living spaces.

The house is beautifully set up for families, with with a pack and play, high chair, bathtub, kids' toys and games, and a big grassy backyard bordering the pond where you can view lots of different wildlife. In the summer guests have access to the private Adams Point Beach on Queechy Lake (a sandy beach on a beautiful lake, with a roped off swimming area with facilities and lifeguards, less than 5 minutes away by car).

On the first floor you’ll find a large living room, dining area, and open kitchen. There is also a cozy den with sunset views of the pond, a working wood burning stove, and a sofa that pulls out into a queen bed to accommodate extra guests. There is a first floor laundry room and full bath. Off of the kitchen you can access a beautiful, large wooden deck with a grill.

Upstairs you’ll find 3 bedrooms: two with queen beds and one with twin bunk beds. A pack-and-play is available and can easily fit in the primary bedroom (see photos). There’s a full bath with a bathtub, and another large living area. All in all the house can sleep 8. There are also two working spaces: one upstairs off the second floor living room and one downstairs in the den.

In terms of location, the house is 5 minutes to the MA border by car, with the closest towns being Richmond and West Stockbridge. It’s 15 minutes by car to Tanglewood in Lenox, 15 minutes to Stockbridge, and 30 minutes to Great Barrington, with all of the beautiful Berkshire activities at your fingertips. On the NY side it’s 15 minutes to Chatham, 25 to Kinderhook and 40 to Hudson, giving you access to the best of Columbia County as well. In the winter, the house is 15 minutes to Bousquet Mountain (our favorite), 20 minutes to Jiminy Peak, and 30 minutes to Catamount and Butternut. Come check out all that this area has to offer! Hiking and biking, fresh farmers’ stands, museums, historic homes, music, and great food and wine, year round. We adore this little corner of the Berkshires and hope you will too!
