Nuestra cabaña de dos dormitorios / dos baños se encuentra en una zona tranquila de la isla y está ubicada entre las atracciones del norte y del sur, por lo que es un lugar perfecto para visitar. Tenemos casi 400 pies de frente al mar en una playa de 2 ½ millas de largo. La cabaña está un poco atrás de la playa con una hermosa playa sin obstáculos y vistas al agua. Vivimos aquí durante todo el año y queremos que TODOS nuestros visitantes prueben cómo es vivir en la isla y pasen un buen rato mientras estén aquí. La cabaña es su hogar lejos del hogar: limpio, cómodo y con todo lo que necesita para su estadía mientras explora la isla ... ¡a un precio asequible! La cabaña cuenta con DOS habitaciones (camas Queen), DOS baños completos, cocina totalmente equipada, porche con mesa de comedor y capacidad para hasta 4 personas. Ven a Long Island ... A wonderful stay

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at George and Cindy’s rental property. The house had everything we needed to prepare our meals at home. (Love that they had a coffee bean grinder for our special coffee). But the main reason I would give this property 10 stars is the host. He checked on us daily to see if we needed anything and gave us so much information about the island (First-timers to Long Island). We loved talking with both of them and we will miss them. Thank you George and Cindy for an unforgettable stay and I hope to see you both in the future.Denise and Nicklas

Fantastic perfect little house on the beach

We spent two weeks in George and Cindy's perfect two bedroom rental a few feet from a beautiful beach. The house would be perfect for two couples or two friends as well. Well set up to cook in, and closer to many restaurants. Huge bonus was a shaded screened in porch with a view of the ocean.

Lovely cottage in great location

We had 2 families come and 4 of our group of 10 stayed here and it was exactly what we wanted! Cute, very clean, cool, comfy beds, PERFECT location, lovely screened porch. George came over and welcomed us right away and checked in daily via email to see if we needed anything. Check in and check out was super easy. We were so thankful we were able to rent this house and would definitely recommend!!

Beyond our Expectations

From our first enquiry, to day of our departure, our experience with Whymmsical Wish Cottage was fantastic. The property is spacious, airy, bright, very well-equipped, private and very quiet. It is tough duty to walk a couple hundred feet through palm trees to get to a 2 mile+ sandy beach! George and Cindy are a wonderful, hospitable couple and live right next door. Nothing malfunctioned, but it was nice they were right here in case. George has bent over backward, from the moment we made first contact, to make our stay on Long Island one of our best vacations ever. And, he makes a heck of a pizza! We look forward to our next trip back to Whymms!

I highly recommend this property to anyone planning a visit to Long Island. George and Cindy are amazing hosts. They are great in helping you plan your stay and are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the island.They are fun to be around and make you feel so comfortable staying in their wonderful accommodations that it is hard to leave. The property is located on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Good, snorkeling, kayaking, and bonefishing are just a few steps away. The accommodations are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We can't wait to go back!

Quaint place to call home

George made our trip to Long Island well with it! The cottage is literally a place you feel at home. The location is ideal for traveling to both ends of the island or simply staying on the property. Many of the conveniences you would expect for kitchen, bath, and resting. Beautiful views and an amazing reef close to shore. The generosity and helpfulness of Goerge and Cindy makes everyday on the island a “good day”!

A great experience and a great island

The property is everything as advertised. It is close to the beach with easy accessibility to Queen's Highway and the entire island. George and Cindy are some of the nicest people we've met and were extremely helpful in all parts of our stay on Long Island. They provided both the amenities needed to make our stay easier and pleasurable but also have a wealth of knowledge about the island that only a 17 year resident and a native Bahamian could provide in regards to groceries, beaches, restaurants, snorkeling and more. The 2 bedroom cottage was large enough for us and has all the necessities for your stay whether it be a week or a month or more.. and kayaks, beach needs,, etc are provided. We have already discussed returning next year. Heartily recommend this property if you are even considering it. You will not be disappointed. Lastly, in regards to Long Island, it is beautiful and you have access to both Caribbean and Atlantic oceans within 4 miles of each other and the people are among the nicest and friendliest we encountered in all our travels.

Beautiful spot and great hosts!

We had the pleasure of staying with George and Cindy for almost 2 weeks in January and early February. I don't think we've ever been treated nicer at any home rented on HomeAway, AirBnb, etc. George and Cindy treat you like family, always checking in to see that everything was okay, and to see if we needed help with ideas for places to explore, beaches to walk, ideas for fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, and just general information about the the lovely people in place of Long Island. We had a mini medical emergency that led to a midnight call to their house and they were up immediately helping us understand what our options were. Thankfully with their help, the crises resolved and we gave Cindy credit for being a lifesaver! Now if we can just get her to be able to control the weather, she'll have it all (but who can complain about mid seventies and a beautiful breeze; there were just a few days when the weather was a bit windy for fishing). The house is beautiful appointed, well built, clean and uncluttered, had everything you could want in the well-supplied kitchen. We stayed in the smaller of two houses. I assume the other is equally perfectly appointed. Again George checked in regularly to see if we needed towels or if we were missing anything -- pots and pans, a cooler, beach chairs, etc. We did borrow a pizza pan and that was great! George helped us set up a rental car with Stanley who met us at the tiny airport. George had some groceries ready that we requested since we arrived on a Sunday.

Relaxing Vacation on a Quiet beach

We stayed here for 2 weeks and were able to unplug with no worries! There are a few other homes in the general area but the beach is so large we went most days without seeing another person. There is plenty of beach to explore here and throughout the island. The house was equipped with everything we needed including an outdoor charcoal grill. And our hosts were wonderful and full of information. The island is large so it was great to have someone who could tell us where everything was. Islanders know where everything is so there weren't alot of signs. The porch on the cottage was perfect for dinner at night and evening games. We didn't need the air conditioning as the winds cooled off the house since it was built up a flight of stairs. My husband used the kayak every morning and explored the cays off our our beach. Definitely a place to unwind from the hectic way of life at home!

Unforgettable holidays for the whole family

We stayed in both cottages for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Years with our 4 kids and grandparents - just perfect! Since we rented both cottages, every generation could live on its own path: seniors had their early morning coffee and swim, mid-age could do some work in the morning - thanks to Wifi - and the Youngsters could sleep in and kite surf right in front of the property. Both cottages are clean, colourful, friendly and well equipped! You get a clean up every week and as much towels as you want. Everything is there when you arrive and George is great with organizing whatever it is before you come. The South part of Long Island had a lot of damages through the hurricane end of September 2015 and you still could see destroyed houses. The area of Whymsical Wish looks much better and although the water raised about 5 feet onto the property, George did a great job in cleaning up and restoring the garden. George and Cindy are fantastic hosts!!! They helped us with any issue: broken rental cars (ask George for recommendations !), where to get fresh seafood and how to prepare it the right way, where to go for swimming, shopping, sight-seeing and everything else you can think of! Our highlight was their invitation for Christmas dinner and boxing day with their whole family - imagine we were 8 more to feed! These folks are just incredibly welcoming and generous - we had a great time and want to come again for sure!

great choice for beach vacation

My husband and I spent a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable 9 days at the cottage . We look for locations that are out- of- the- way, quiet, restful, and beautiful, and this certainly was one of those. We had convenient access to a private beach where we spent alot of time walking or running, exploring, and where we went kayaking one afternoon. The cottage was clean, well equipped, comfortable,and the grounds well maintained. Our host, George, made us feel very welcome and was attentive to anything we might need. We enjoyed attending the local Saturday morning Farmers Market and prepared most of our own meals , but enjoyed eating lunch at a couple of great restaurants on the island: the Cape Santa Maria Resort restaurant at the northern end of the island, and the Outer Edge Grill at the marina in Clarence Town. We definitely recommend this property to anyone that wants a a restful break from the frenzy of civilization

Great beaches and great host

My wife and I spent a week in late Februray at this very comfortable beach cottage. Couldn't have been a better week of weather and beach. The owner, George, helped us with our travel plans and checked on us frequently at the cottage to offer assistance with directions, local stores, etc. We rented a car and traveled to the fantastic beach in the north, Santa Maria, to the beatiful Gordon Beach in the south as well as many beaches in between. White sugar sands and turquoise water. At most we would see a couple of others on the beach, but often had the entire beach to ourselves. Must see: Blue Hole. Note: Side roads are quite rough. On a return vist we would rent an SUV or high clearance vehicle.

Heavenly isolation of long island enhanced and ena

This was our second trip to Long Island - last time we stayed in the south. We love it because it is so quiet, simple and untouched - every day we take our kids to a new, different and completely deserted beach! Our expectations were therefore high for this trip but the Whyms location in the middle of the island on the Caribbean/leeward side and George and Cindy's welcome and comfortable cottage easily exceeded those expectations. The cottage is in site of and a short walk from the beach and is well equipped and comfortable. George's discrete but always available hosting from his nearby home really supplemented our stay - he kindly did a grocery shop in advance of our arrival, he recommended car hire and restaurants, he gave us daily weather and beach suggestions, he sorted out our flight changes on departure and he even conjured up candles for my wife's birthday cake! Thank you George and Cindy for a wonderful stay - we all loved it, Jamie, Sarah, Tessa (6) and Charlie (4). We will be returning for sure.

Amazing Stay, More than we could've imagined.

Our stay at Whymsical Wish was exactly what we needed. The location of the cabins are ideal for exploring the whole island being that they were in a central location. George, the owner, was the perfect host. Giving us all the information we needed but not smothering us. He made our stay amazing. We had an incredible time exploring all the island had to offer. From unbelievably gorgeous beaches, to amazing snorkeling locations and delicious fresh seafood long island had it all. We had the beaches to ourselves, only Dean's Blue Hole was "busy" with up to five other people at a time. Which is understandable because the view was incredible. It is definitely a must see!! We went snorkeling around and over the blue hole and saw tons of amazing fish and shells. Our overall stay on the island was incredible.

A TRUE Island Getaway

When landing in Nassau you cannot help but notice that you are in a place just as crowded and busy as the place you may have just came from, only warmer. After landing on Long Island and stepping off the plane, you start to realize that you are in the “Real Bahamas”! My Fiancée Jessica and I stayed at Whymsical Wish for 8 days this February and we cannot begin to say enough great things about not only Wymsical Wish, George and Cindy, but of Long Island too!!! We have traveled all over the Caribbean and Long Island and our stay at Whymsical Wish is our favorite yet! We have always said that we will never visit the same place twice but I think this is a place that we will have to visit again! It is UNIQUE! George and Cindy are AMAZING! They went well out of their way to ensure we had absolutely EVERYTING we needed and to answer all of our questions about what to see, where to go and how to get there! We landed on the Island on a Sunday when grocery stores are closed. George, who had been in constant contact prior to our arrival, had stocked our kitchen with everything we had requested! WOOHOO!! He was also gracious enough to let us use his Kayaks, which allowed us to explore the gorgeous bay in front of the cottage. The cottage is beautiful and had everything we could have asked for! The beach in front of the cottage is stunning and the water is the stuff we here in New England DREAM about in winter! You can also snorkel right from the beach! We enjoyed spectacular Sunsets every night while sipping tropical drinks and the stars at night were AMAZING! I could go on forever about Whymsical Wish, Long Island, and the BEST HOSTS you will ever have!! If you are like us, you like to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and go to a place that truly slows you down, warms you up and rejuvenates your soul! Whymsical Wish and Long Island IS that place! Thank you SOO Much George and Cindy!!!!

George is the best

We where supposed to stay some place else, but she cancelled when we arrived. The island was busy, but we were incredibly lucky that George had space available. The accommodations are simple and ample, and its just the right lay out for a family vacation. There are two bedrooms and baths and a large common area so people can be together and also have some space. There was great cross breeze and fans so we never needed to turn on the a/c. But the real plus here is George. He was incredibly generous with his time and things. We used his kayak (he carried it in and out of the water) and borrowed a mask when we lost one of ours. He got us fresh coconuts (and opened them) as well as lobster tails. I can't think of anything we could have asked him for that he would not have provided. He is very knowledge about the island and where to go (which is really helpful as there is not that much published info and things are not marked all that well.) As we were leaving he got an amazing shell for our 6 year old that made the trip even more special for her. If you want rest and relaxation, plus all the help you could want, this is the place to stay.

The perfect home away from home!!:)

In December 2012 we spent the best time ever on the wonderful isle of long island. Not enough that the isle is a dream by itself, we also had the best hosts you can have! After arriving to Deadmans Cay, a 30 min. drive and just a short search we found our home for the next 13 nights and were absolutely amazed!  We stayed in the ocean cottage and it is just the perfect place to stay! You got everything you need with all the amneties and it is built and maintained just perfectely!!! George gave us a warm welcome, showed us the house, he has already stuffed the fridge for us, and told us what to do where and when while having a nice and cold bahamian beer on the perfectely screened in porch with a great view over the property and the ocean behind.  He really knows the spots on the island you need to see and this is worth a thousand times more than any printed travel guide... He also always knows the right people for everything you need or want to do and he always took real good care of us! Thanks again, George and Mari! It was a pleasure to meet you and we can't wait to comeback!

Whymmsicalwish Awsome Place!

My husband and I stayed with George and Mari at Whymmsicalwish March 6-15, 2011. We had actually had a reservation at another Long Island property, DeBorra's Dreamscape, that the owner cancelled 3 weeks prior to our visit because she got another booking to rent the house for more money. George had just put the cottage on HomeAway and got back to me within 2 hours that it was available. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome beginning with his first email. He made a very upsetting situation into a pleasure. They will shop for food and beverages for you prior to your getting there. Our refrigerator was stocked with fresh produce,eggs, bread, lobster and beer! George contacted us every few days to see if he could do anything else for us. He looked for fishing guides in case we wanted one. The cottage is nicer in person. It was very clean, cutely tropically decorated and the kitchen was well equiped. I loved the gas grill and used it every night. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have ceiling fans and good cross ventillation. Both bathrooms had great walk-in showers with plenty of hot, fresh water. We spent a lot of time on the large screen porch sitting at the patio table and comfortable chairs. There's a great view of all the palm trees that George has planted and we could see the beach and water. The property is on a lovely bay where there are schools of bonefish cruising. My husband caught several within in-sight of the house. There is also great snorkelling at the end of the bay. We saw all kinds of fish 5 feet from the shore. We couldn't ask for better customer service and George would stop by each day to see if we needed anything. He even had us over to their house for a drink to watch the sun set on our first night there. We will definately stay there on our next trip.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I ditched the cold for the beach.....best move I've ever made ! Living on a beach has been my dream since I was a little guy and to actually achieve it is....well.....Livin the dream !

Over the years I've met peeps from all over the world and have made many long lasting friendships with others who also love the island lifestyle we have here.

I am joined here by my wife, Cindy and sometimes by my daughter, Jessica, although right now Jessica is finishing up her studies in the states to become a speech language pathologist. That's her up there in the photo with my wife and me.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Space...privacy....a westward view to catch all the breathtaking sunsets and green flashes...a three mile long beach to walk on...my own little reef just 180' from the shore where I can see hundreds of fish and colorful coral...gin-clear water that is always calm and great to swim and snorkel for hours in and then come out and have a cold beer on the beach....sitting on the beach at night around a fire while sipping some wine and looking at literally bazillions of stars that you can never see back home.....and experiencing what it must be like to be on your own private tropical island !

Comfort. Privacy. Nothing flashy or fancy but everything you need and more is there. Sunsets....incredible Sunsets. Stars. So many stars ! Quiet. Screened in porch. High speed internet.
